Pulse detonation engine (PDE) is expected for a next-generation propulsion system. PDE is a promising engine that can generates power and thrust by using intermittent detonation. Promotion of deflagration to detonation transition (below DDT) is a key issue to realize this system. PDE has experimentally been investigated, and it was confirmed that detonation tubes with u-shaped bends are useful for fast DDT. However, the mechanism of DDT promotion due to u-bends has not been well clarified. In the present study, the influence of a u-bend on detona-tion wave propagation is researched with computational fluid dynamics (CFD). The numerical results show that detonation wave disappears once near the u-bend inlet and restarts after passing through it. In addition, it was found that the use of the u-bend with small channel width and curvature radius can induce fast DDT.

The existence of the Cretaceous-Tertiary （K/T） boundary in the non-marine succession is expected at Jiayin in the Heilongjiang River area, China. Zircons from a tuff sample from the Baishantou Member of Wuyun Formation in Jiayin were analyzed by the laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry （LA-ICP-MS） u-Pb dating and fission-track dating methods. Ages of 64.1±0.7 Ma （u-Pb） and 61.7±1.8 Ma （fission-track dating） were obtained, which allow reevaluation of a previously reported late Maastrichian age for the tuff layer that was in conflict with the paleontological evidence. These results confirm the Danian age of the section in agreement with the paleontological evidence.

We have developed an analytic continuation method for extracting parameters of nucleon resonances within a Hamiltonian formulation of meson-nucleon reactions. The method was tested for simple solvable models and then applied for our recent coupled channels model （πN, ηN, π△, ρN, and σN ） of the π＊N and γ＊N reactions. The resonance pole positions and their properties are studied for P11and P11 channels.

A new experimental regime has recently been studied for achieving high fraction of the bootstrap current in the JT-60u hydrogen *** high poloidal beta(βp~3.61)plasma was obtained by high-power neutral beam injection heating at very high edge safety factor(Ip=0.3 MA,Bt=3.65 T,qeff=25-35)region,and the bootstrap current fraction(fBS)was about 40%using the ACCOME code *** was observed that there were no magnetohydrodynamics instabilities to retard the increase ofβp and fBS parameters in the new regime.

BACKGROuND Endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD)is widely accepted for early gastric cancer(EGC)without lymph node metastasis,although ESD is challenging,even for small lesions,in the greater curvature(GC)of the upper(u)and middle(M)thirds of the *** forceps-assisted endoscopic resection(GF-ER)is a type of endoscopic mucosal resection that is performed via a double-channel *** To investigate the safety and efficacy of GF-ER vs ESD in the GC of the stomach’s u and M *** We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of 506 patients who underwent ER of 522 EGC lesions in the stomach’s u and M regions in three institutions between January 2016 and May *** lesions from eight patients who underwent GF-ER for EGC(the GF-ER group)were compared to 63 lesions from 63 patients who underwent ESD(the ESD group).We also performed a subgroup analysis of small lesions(≤10 mm)in 6 patients(7 lesions)from the GF-ER group and 20 patients(20 lesions)from the ESD *** There were no statistically significant differences between the GF-ER and ESD groups in the en bloc resection rates(100%vs 100%)and the R0 resection rates(100%vs 98.4%).The median procedure time in the GF-ER group was shorter than that in the ESD group(4.0 min vs 55.0 min,Pup,although five perforations(8.0%)and 1 case of postoperative bleeding(1.6%)were observed in the ESD *** we only considered lesions that were≤10 mm,the median procedure time in the GF-ER group was still shorter than that in the ESD group(4.0 min vs 35.0 min,Pup,although 1 case of perforation(1.6%)were observed in the ESD *** These findings suggest that GF-ER may be an effective therapeutic option for small lesions in the GC of the stomach’s u and M regions.

Background: Gilbert syndrome (GS) is characterized by an elevated serum bil-irubin due to a polymorphism in uridine Diphosphate Glucuronosyl Transferase (uGT1A1) gene. Several studies have found high prevalence of Gilbert Syn-drome in some Asian countries but still haven’t explored in Bangladesh. Aim of this study was to determine the allele frequencies of two different variants of uGT1A1 polymorphisms (uGT1A1 6 and uGT1A1 28) among Bangladeshi population. Materials and method: Total 150 unrelated volunteer from outpa-tient unit of the Central Hospital Limited, and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical university, Dhaka were enrolled in this study. Peripheral blood was obtained from each subject and DNA extraction was done by Genomic DNA Isolation Kit. Polymorphisms of uGT1A1*6 (c.211G>A) was genotyped using the TaqMan Assay-on-Demand SNP Typing System and uGT1A1*28 (c.-53_-52TA) promoter repeat number polymorphism was determined by PCR method on an ABI PRISM 3130 Genetic Analyzer. Results: 57.3% of the study participants were male, mean age of them was 4.05 years. Minor allele fre-quency (MAF) was 0.442 (44.2%) for uGT1A1*28 and 0.047 (4.7%) for uGT1A1*6. Conclusion: This is the first ever study conducted among Bangla-deshi population to identify the Gilbert syndrome and found very high prevalence. Drugs those who are conjugated by uGT1A1 may lead to worse adverse event due to uGT1A1 polymorphism. Infants having decreased uGT1A1 enzyme activity develop neonatal jaundice and its further complication like Ker-nicterus. Higher incidence of Gilbert syndrome among Bangladeshi might be the alert for the clinicians treating neonatal jaundice.

The purpose of this study was to compare the dentoalveolar changes produced when using two different intraoperative surgical procedures for maxillary distraction osteogenesis. Eight patients were assigned into two groups according to the surgical procedure: down-fracture (DF, n = 6) vs non-down-fracture (NDF, n = 2). Lateral cephalograms and 3-D models before and after maxillary distraction were analyzed. The Mann-Whitney u test was used to compare the differences in the amounts of advancement and dento-alveolar changes between the DF and NDF groups. The significance level was established at 0.05. Although a significantly greater amount of maxillary movement was observed in the DF group (10.0 mm ± 2.2) than in the NDF group (5.9 mm ± 2.3), significantly greater arch length (8.7 mm ± 5.2) and arch width changes (6.0 mm ± 1.0) were observed in the NDF group than in the DF group, (arch lengths 3.0 mm ± 1.1 and arch width changes 3.2 mm ± 2.0). A significantly greater amount of dental anchorage loss was observed in the NDF group. The use of the NDF procedure resulted in greater amounts of dental anchorage loss than resulted from the DF procedures when tooth-borne devices were used during maxillary distraction osteogenesis. The type of surgical procedure might play an important role in the amount and direction of the dental changes.

This paper presents an improvement of Herbrand's *** propose a method for specifying a subuniverse of the Herbrand universe of a clause set S for each argument of predicate symbols and function symbols in *** prove that a clause set S is unsatisfiable if and only if there is a finite unsatisfiable set of ground instances of clauses of S that are derived by only instantiating each variable,which appears as an argument of predicate symbols or function symbols,in S over its corresponding argument's sub-universe of the Herbrand universe of *** such sub-universes are usually smaller(sometimes considerably)than the Herbrand universe of S,the number of ground instances may decrease considerably in many *** present an algorithm for automatically deriving the sub-universes for arguments in a given clause set,and show the correctness of our ***,we introduce an application of our approach to model generation theorem proving for non-range-restricted problems,show the range-restriction transformation algorithm based on our improvement and provide examples on benchmark problems to demonstrate the power of our approach.
