Impact of Water Deterioration on Growth Indices and Meat Quality of Tilapia zillii and Solea aegyptiaca Fish Inhabiting Lake Qaroun, Egypt

The present work studies water deterioration, fish survival and production as a result of effluents discharged directly without prior treatments into lake Qaroun at Fayoum governorate, Egypt. Lake Qaroun represents heavily polluted wild habitat for both studied fish species, Tilapia zillii and Solea aegyptiaca, the most abundant species. Results revealed deterioration in water quality (low dissolved oxygen but high ammonia, nitrite, copper, lead and cadmium) of Northeastern sector where El-Bats drain discharge its effluents without prior treatment followed by that of eastern sector at four km from the point of El-Bats discharge. Water salinity and dissolved oxygen values were in the following order: Western lake Qaroun sector > Eastern lake Qaroun sector > Northeastern lake Qaroun sector. However, Ammonia and nitrite readings were in the following order: Northeastern sector of Lake Qaroun is followed by the Eastern sector, then the Western sector. Moreover, results of the present field study revealed a decrease in fish production with the lowest condition factor and a deterioration in meat quality (an increase in muscle water content and ash but a decrease total protein and total lipids) in case of fish collected from the polluted sites along the lake (Northeastern and eastern sectors). However, fish collected from the unpolluted western sector of the lake showed condition factor and chemical muscle composition more or less similar to normal healthy fish.

Jejunal Stromal Tumor Revealed by a Digestive Hemorrhage

Introduction: Gastro intestinal stromal tumors are rare which can arise at any age, mostly between 50 and 60 years old. They are characterized by the expression on the surface of their cells, a specific gene c-kit. They can be located in any segment of the digestive tract, with a preference for the stomach (60%). The jejunum location is found in 200% to 30% of the cases. The originality of our observation is the revelation of a stromal jejunum tumor by a digestive bleeding. Case Report: A 71-year-old man was admitted in emergencies for a low digestive plentiful bleeding with state of hypovolemia shock. Result: The operation was performed after stabilization of his dynamic state and blood transfusion and we discovered a jejunal stromal tumor in operation. The follow-up was simple with a good evolution under treatment by Imatinib. Conclusion: Stromal digestive tumors are rare which can interest all the segments of the digestive tract and their diagnosis must be often evoked in front of any digestive bleeding.

Hepato Splenic Tuberculosis in Acute Cholecystitis

Background: The tuberculosis is an endemic disease in our country;it remains a major public health problem. Liver and splenic tuberculosis is a classic disease which represents 1.5% of all gastrointestinal tuberculosis. Patients and Methods: We reported the case of a fifty-six years old patient admitted in the department of surgery for acute cholecystitis, and the biological balance showed a hyperleukocytosis at 16,000 elements/mm3 and a CRP at 25 with a light cholestasis. The abdominal scanner showed a micronodular splenomegaly with coelio mesenteric ganglions. We discovered a tuberculosis location in the liver and the spleen and we realized a cholecystectomy with a hepatic biopsy and a splenectomy. Results: A gallbladder ablation associated with an enlarged spleen and liver biopsy was diagnosed with liver and splenic tuberculosis. The patient was put under anti tubercular treatment with the good clinical and radiological evolution. Conclusion: The diagnosis of tuberculosis should always be considered especially in endemic countries.

Comparative Toxicity of Selected Insecticides to Phytoplasma Transmitted Leafhopper Cicadulina bipunctata （Melichar）

Leafhopper Cicadulina bipunctata is represented the main insect as a pathogen for phytoplasma disease occurring by insect-transmitted plant viruses in date palm orchards. Therefore, it is important to investigate the potential effect of some insecticides against such insect. The adults of leafhopper C. bipunctata were collected from date palm orchards in Alhasa, Eastern province, Saudi Arabia. Three insecticides from different classes--beta-cyfluthrin （pyrethroids）, imidacloprid （neonicotinoids） and abamectin （natural compounds）--have been evaluated in vivo against adults C. bipunctata. This stage was exposed to residual film of various concentrations of each insecticide on transparent plastic cups using a Potter precision laboratory spray tower. Bioassay test showed that both beta-cyfluthrin and imidacloprid caused 100% mortality by 500 ppm at 24 h after treatment, whereas abamectin gave the same mortality by 50 ppm at the same time. Toxicity values revealed that abameetin was the most potent insecticide compared with beta-cyfluthrin and imidacloprid, where the lethal concentrations LC50 and LC95 were 24.58 ppm and 116.73 ppm at 3 h after treatment, respectively. Therefore, abamectin can be a possible candidate to be applied on date palm or ground grass by the Ministry of Agriculture after successful field experiments.

Recently,computer aided diagnosis(CAD)model becomes an effective tool for decision making in healthcare *** advances in computer vision and artificial intelligence(AI)techniques have resulted in the effective design of CAD models,which enables to detection of the existence of diseases using various imaging *** cancer(OC)has commonly occurred in head and neck *** identification of OC enables to improve survival rate and reduce mortality ***,the design of CAD model for OC detection and classification becomes ***,this study introduces a novel Computer Aided Diagnosis for OC using Sailfish Optimization with Fusion based Classification(CADOC-SFOFC)*** proposed CADOC-SFOFC model determines the existence of OC on the medical *** accomplish this,a fusion based feature extraction process is carried out by the use of VGGNet-16 and Residual Network(ResNet)***,feature vectors are fused and passed into the extreme learning machine(ELM)model for classification ***,SFO algorithm is utilized for effective parameter selection of the ELM model,consequently resulting in enhanced *** experimental analysis of the CADOC-SFOFC model was tested on Kaggle dataset and the results reported the betterment of the CADOC-SFOFC model over the compared methods with maximum accuracy of 98.11%.Therefore,the CADOC-SFOFC model has maximum potential as an inexpensive and non-invasive tool which supports screening process and enhances the detection efficiency.

BACKGROUND Hepatitis B virus(HBV) is a cause of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC). Interestingly, this process is not necessarily mediated through cirrhosis and may in fact involve oncogenic processes. Prior studies have suggested specific oncogenic gene expression pathways were affected by viral regulatory proteins. Thus, identifying these genes and associated pathways could highlight predictive factors for HCC transformation and has implications in early diagnosis and *** To elucidate HBV oncogenesis in HCC and identify potential therapeutic *** We employed our Search, Tag, Analyze, Resource platform to conduct a meta-analysis of public data from National Center for Biotechnology Information’s Gene Expression Omnibus. We performed meta-analysis consisting of 155 tumor samples compared against 185 adjacent nontumor samples and analyzed results with ingenuity pathway *** Our analysis revealed liver X receptors/retinoid X receptor(RXR) activation and farnesoid X receptor/RXR activation as top canonical pathways amongst others. Top upstream regulators identified included the Ras family gene rab-like protein 6(RABL6). The role of RABL6 in oncogenesis is beginning to unfold but its specific role in HBV-related HCC remains undefined. Our causal analysis suggests RABL6 mediates pathogenesis of HBV-related HCC through promotion of genes related to cell division, epigenetic regulation, and Akt signaling. We conducted survival analysis that demonstrated increased mortality with higher RABL6 expression. Additionally, homeobox A10(HOXA10) was a top upstream regulator and was strongly upregulated in our analysis. HOXA10 has recently been demonstrated to contribute to HCC pathogenesis in vitro.
