Cutaneous Manifestations of HIV/AIDS in the Era of Highly Active Antiretroviral Therapy: Evidence from Bangladesh

Objective:Skin diseases are common and striking features of patients with human immunodeficiency virus/acquired immunodeficiency syndrome(HIV/AIDS)and may vary considerably by ethnic and geographic regions and by the influence of highly active antiretroviral therapy(HAART).However,little information exists regarding the cutaneous manifestations of patients with HIV/AIDS in *** study was performed to elucidate the spectrum of cutaneous disorders in patients with HIV/AIDS in the era of ***:This descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out in Chittagong Medical College Hospital,Bangladesh from January 2017 and December *** case of HIV/AIDS for HAART therapy and all cases of HIV/AIDS who are already on HAART therapy were included in this *** statistical analysis was carried out by using frequencies and ***:Of 40 patients with HIV/AIDS,22(55.0%)were male and 18(45.0%)were *** patients ranged in age from 8 to 60 years,with a mean age of 38±0.966 *** all age groups,the highest 19(47.5%)patients were in the 31-to 40-year age *** of the patients were migrant workers[22/40(55.0%)]with low socioeconomic status[32/40(80.0%)],and the most common transmission mode was heterosexual activity[36/40(90.0%)].Most of the patients[32/40(80.0%)]had mucocutaneous disorders,30/40(75.0%)had infective dermatoses,and 21/40(52.5%)had non-infective inflammatory *** of forty(20.0%)patients presented with three or more skin *** most common infective dermatoses were fungal infections[15/40(37.5%)],followed by viral infections[8/40(20.0%)],bacterial infections[4/40(10.0%)],and scabies[3/40(7.5%)].The most common non-infective dermatosis was generalized pruritus[6/40(15.0%)],followed by prurigo simplex[4/40(10.0%)],psoriasis[4/40(10.0%)],eczema[3/40(7.5%)],pruritic papular eruption[1/40(2.5%)],seborrheic dermatitis[1/40(2.5%)],urticaria[1/40(2.5%)],and xerosis[1/40(2.5%)].Patients treat

德国柏林夏里特医学院maurer团队报告了2项ligelizumab的3期临床研究结果。PEARL-1和PEARL-2是相同设计的随机、双盲、活性对照和安慰剂对照平行组研究。从46个国家的347个研究点招募了≥12岁的中重度H1-AH难治性慢性自发性荨麻疹(chronic spontaneous urticaria,CSU)患者,并通过交互反应技术以3∶3∶3∶1的比例随机分配给予ligelizumab 72、120 mg,omalizumab 300 mg或安慰剂,每4周给药1次,持续52周。分配给安慰剂的患者从第24周开始接受ligelizumab 120 mg治疗。主要终点是第12周每周荨麻疹活动评分(urticaria activity score,UAS7)与基线的变化(change-from-baseline,CFB)。

Syncope in older adults

Syncope, defined as a self-limited transient loss of consciousness and postural tone due to global cerebral hypoperfusion, is a common reason for emergency room visits, with a third of these visits leading to an inpatient admission. Syncope carries an estimated 2-year mortality rate of over 25% and is strongly associated with falls, a potentially devastating contributor to morbidity and mortality among the elderly. Given this association, it is not surprising that up to 35% of syncopal episodes result in injury. Dizziness is similarly associated with poor outcomes in the elderly, overlapping substantially with syncope and falls through commonly shared pathophysiologic mechanisms. To optimize care of this vulnerable patient population, it is imperative to recognize the etiologies and associated risk factors for syncope in older adults, as well as appreciate their influence on diagnosis and management.

The Swelling Equilibria of N-isopropylacrylamide Based Hydrogel in Aqueous Solution of Ethanol

N-isopropylacrylamide (NIPAAm) was used to synthesize NIPAAm homopolymer (nonionized) and NIPAAm-sodium methacrylate copolymer (ionized). The swelling equilibria for both gels were obtained in aqueous solution of ethanol with concentration ranging from 0 to 100%(by mass) at 25℃. The swollen gel in water shrank first with the addition of a small amount of ethanol and then reswelled with further addition of ethanol showing not only a discontinuous volume phase transition but also a typical reentrant phenomenon. A thermodynamic model based on the UNIQUAC with the 'free-volume' contribution was applied to correlate and predict the swelling behavior of the poly(NIPAAM)-gels in ethanol-water mixture.

Field scale measurement of greenhouse gas emissions from land applied swine manure

Greenhouse gas emissions （GHGs） from swine production systems are relatively well researched with the exception of emissions from land application of manure. GttGs inventories are needed for process- based modeling and science-based regulations. Thus, the objective of this observational study was to measure GHG fluxes from land application of swine manure on a typical corn field. Assessment of GHG emissions from deep injected land-applied swine manure, Phil and reapplication in the spring, on a typical US Midwestern corn-on-corn farm was completed. Static chambers were used Ibr flux measurement along with gas analysis on a GC-FID-ECD＋ Measured gas concentrations were used to estimate GHGs flux using four different models： linear regression, nonlinear regression, first order linear regression and the revised Hutchinson and Mosier （HMR） model, respectively for *** flux esmnates after manure apphcatmn of 5.85×10 g·ha^-1（1 ha = 0.01 km） of CO2 6.60×10^1g·ha^-1 of CH4 and3.48 ×10^3g·ha^-1 N2O for the fall trial and 3.11×10^6g·ha^-1 of CO2,2.95×10^3g·ha^-1 of OH4, and 1.47×10^4g·ha^-1 N2O after the spnng reapphcation trial were observed. The N2O net cumulative flux represents 0.595% of nitrogen applied in swine manure for the fall trial.
