Comprehensive studies identify motor neuron spectrum disorders including amyotrophic lateral sclerosis(ALS)as globally rising fatal disorders with the highest prevalence in aging populations,influenced by ethnicity and ancestry(GBD 2016 Motor Neuron Disease Colla borators,2018).While~10% of diagnoses involve a family history(fALS),most cases are considered sporadic(sALS).However,population-based studies suggest that even cases without a common index mutation impart heritability(Ryan et al.,2019),indicating a crucial role of rare and as yet unknown genetic denominators.

OBJECTIVES To assess the impact of prosthesis choice and aortic valve calcifications on the occurrence of conduction disturb-ances after transcatheter aortic valve implantation(TAVI).METHODS We retrospectively analyzed the preoperative clinical characteristics,electrocardiograms,contrast-enhanced mul-tidetector computed tomography scans and procedural strategies of patients who underwent TAVI in our center between January 2012 and June *** of calcium volume was performed for each aortic cusp above(aortic valve)and below(left ventricular outflow tract,LVOT)the basal *** analysis was performed to evaluate risk factors for the onset of new bundle branch block(BBB),transient and permanent atrioventricular block(tAVB,pAVB).RESULTS A total of 569 patients were included in the *** different prostheses were implanted(Edwards Sapien XT,n=162;Edwards Sapien 3,n=240;Medtronic CoreValve,n=27;Medtronic CoreValve Evolut R,n=21;Symetis Acurate,n=56;Sy-metis Acurate neo,n=63).The logistic regression analysis for BBB showed association with baseline left anterior *** logistic regression for tAVB,found the prior valvuloplasty and the balloon post-dilatation associated with the *** left and right BBB,degree of oversizing,and LVOT calcification beneath the non-coronary cusp were associated with *** the prosthesis model,nor the use of a self-expandable prosthesis showed statistical significance with the above-men-tioned outcomes on univariate *** LVOT calcification beneath the non-coronary cusp,baseline left anterior hemiblock,right BBB,balloon post-dilatation,prior valvuloplasty and oversizing are independently associated with postprocedural conduction disturbances after *** of a self-expandable prosthesis may show a lower incidence of AVB,if applied in lower calcified aortic valves.

Axonal regeneration and ifber regrowth is limited in the adult central nervous system, but re-search over the last decades has revealed a high intrinsic capacity of brain and spinal cord circuits to adapt and reorganize after smaller injuries or denervation. Short-distance ifber growth and synaptic rewiring was found in cortex, brain stem and spinal cord and could be associated with restoration of sensorimotor functions that were impaired by the injury. Such processes of struc-tural plasticity were initially observed in the corticospinal system following spinal cord injury or stroke, but recent studies showed an equally high potential for structural and functional reorganization in reticulospinal, rubrospinal or propriospinal projections. Here we review the lesion-induced plastic changes in the propriospinal pathways, and we argue that they represent a key mechanism triggering sensorimotor recovery upon incomplete spinal cord injury. The for-mation or strengthening of spinal detour pathways bypassing supraspinal commands around the lesion site to the denervated spinal cord were identiifed as prominent neural substrate inducing substantial motor recovery in different species from mice to primates. Indications for the exis-tence of propriospinal bypasses were also found in humans after cortical stroke. It is mandatory for current research to dissect the biological mechanisms underlying spinal circuit remodeling and to investigate how these processes can be stimulated in an optimal way by therapeutic inter-ventions （e.g., ifber-growth enhancing interventions, rehabilitation）. This knowledge will clear the way for the development of novel strategies targeting the remarkable plastic potential of pro-priospinal circuits to maximize functional recovery after spinal cord injury.

The carotenoid-derived volatileβ-ionone makes an important contribution to tea ***,we qualitatively and quantitatively analysed 15 carotenoids in tea leaves of 13 cultivars by UHPLC-APCI-MS/*** 13 cultivars were divided into two groups by PCA(Principal Component Analysis)clustering analysis of their carotenoid content,and OPLS-DA(Orthogonal projections to latent structures)indicated that the levels ofβ-carotene(VIP=2.89)and lutein(VIP=2.30)were responsible for much of the variation between the two ***,theβ-carotene toβ-ionone conversion rates in Group 1 were higher than in Group 2,while theβ-carotene content was significantly lower in Group 1 than in Group ***β-ionone content was significantly higher in Group *** Correlation Coefficient calculation between the transcription level of candidate genes(CsCCD1 and CsCCD4)and the accumulation ofβ-ionone indicated that CsCCD1 may involve in the formation ofβ-ionone in 13 *** expression and in vitro enzyme activity assays showed that‘Chuanhuang 1’had an amino acid mutation in carotenoid cleavage dioxygenases 1(CsCCD1)compared with‘Shuchazao’,resulting in a significantly higherβ-ionone content in‘Chuanhuang 1’.Sequence analysis showed that‘Chuanhuang 1’and‘Huangdan’had different CsCCD1 promoter sequences,leading to significantly higher CsCCD1 expression andβ-ionone accumulation in‘Chuanhuang 1’.These results indicated that the promoter and coding sequence diversity of CsCCD1 might contribute to the differential accumulation ofβ-ionone in different tea cultivars.

Introduction Myocardial injury related to acute ischaemic stroke is common even without primary cardiac *** intended to determine associations between values of left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF)and ischaemic stroke lesion *** Of a local database,patients with acute first-ever ischaemic stroke confirmed by brain imaging but without pre-existing heart disease were *** cardiac morphology and LVEF were obtained from transthoracic or transesophageal echocardiography,and impaired LVEF was categorised as mild(35%-50%),moderate(34%-25%)and severe(0.1 ng/mL),atrial fibrillation and cardiac wall motion abnormalities were assessed and compared between patients with and without impaired LVEF after stroke(significance:p50%.The multivariate voxelwise lesion analysis yielded associations between decreased LVEF and damaged voxels in the insula,amygdala and operculum of the right *** Our imaging analysis unveils a prominent role of the right hemispheric central autonomic network,especially of the insular cortex,in the brain-heart *** results support preliminary evidence that acute ischaemic stroke in distinct brain regions of the central autonomic network may directly impair cardiac function and thus further supports the concept of a distinct stroke-heart syndrome.

Plants emit an overabundance of volatile compounds, which act in their producers either as appreciated attractants to lure beneficial animals or as repellent toxins to deter pests in a species-specific and concentration-dependent manner. Plants have evolved solutions to provide sufficient volatiles without poisoning themselves. Uridine-diphosphate sugar-dependent glycosyltransferases （UGTs） acting on vola-tiles is one important part of this sophisticated system, which balances the levels of bioactive metabolites and prepares them for cellular and long-distance transport and storage but enables the remobilization of disarmed toxins for the benefit of plant protection. This review provides an overview of the research history of glycosidically bound volatiles （GBVs）, a relatively new group of plant secondary metabolites, and discusses the role of UGTs in the production of GBVs for plant protection.
