Preliminary laboratory test on navigation accuracy of an autonomous robot for measuring air quality in livestock buildings

Air quality in many poultry buildings is less than ***,the measurement of concentrations of airborne pollutants in livestock buildings is generally quite *** counter this,the development of an autonomous robot that could collect key environmental data continuously in livestock buildings was *** research presents a specific part of the larger study that focused on the preliminary laboratory test for evaluating the navigation precision of the robot being developed under the different ground surface conditions and different localization algorithm according internal *** construction of the robot was such that each wheel of the robot was driven by an independent DC motor with four odometers fixed on each *** inertial measurement unit(IMU)was rigidly fixed on the robot vehicle *** research focused on using the internal sensors to calculate the robot position(x,y,θ)through three different *** first method relied only on odometer dead reckoning(ODR),the second method was the combination of odometer and gyroscope data dead reckoning(OGDR)and the last method was based on Kalman filter data fusion algorithm(KFDF).A series of tests were completed to generate the robot’s trajectory and analyse the localisation *** tests were conducted on different types of surfaces and path *** results proved that the ODR calculation of the position of the robot is inaccurate due to the cumulative errors and the large deviation of the heading angle ***,improved use of the gyroscope data of the IMU sensor improved the accuracy of the robot heading angle *** KFDF calculation resulted in a better heading angle estimate than the ODR or OGDR *** ground type was also found to be an influencing factor of localisation errors.

A recent report has uncovered a fascinating aspect of how neurons utilize alternative splicing of transcripts of an adhesion G protein-coupled receptor(aGPCR)gene to serve specific functions in the life of a synapse.1 The work provides significant insight into the ability of cells to support distinct biochemical and physiological operations through post-transcriptional processing of genetic information that is encoded in a single aGPCR locus.

Extension of Flow Behaviour and Damage Models for Cast Iron Alloys with Strain Rate Effect

Cast iron alloys with low production cost and quite good mechanical properties are widely used in the automotive *** study the mechanical behavior of a typical ductile cast iron(GJS-450)with nodular graphite,uni-axial quasi-static and dynamic tensile tests at strain rates of 10^(-4),1,10,100,and 250 s^(-1)were carried *** order to investigate the influence of stress state on the deformation and fracture parameters,specimens with various geometries were used in the *** strain curves and fracture strains of the GJS-450 alloy in the strain rate range of 10^(-4)to 250 s^(-1)were obtained.A strain rate-dependent plastic flow model was proposed to describe the mechanical behavior in the corresponding strain-rate *** available damage model was extended to take the strain rate into account and calibrated based on the analysis of local fracture *** with the proposed plastic flow model and the damage model were conducted to observe the deformation and fracture *** results show that the strain rate has obviously nonlinear effects on the yield stress and fracture strain of GJS-450 *** predictions with the proposed plastic flow and damage models at various strain rates agree well with the experimental results,which illustrates that the rate-dependent plastic flow and damage models can be used to describe the mechanical behavior of cast iron alloys at elevated strain *** proposed plastic flow and damage models can be used to describe the deformation and fracture analysis of materials with similar properties.

Ab initio density response and local field factor of warm dense hydrogen

We present quasi-exact ab initio path integral Monte Carlo(PIMC)results for the partial static density responses and local field factors of hydrogen in the warm dense matter regime,from solid density conditions to the strongly compressed *** full dynamic treatment of electrons and protons on the same footing allows us to rigorously quantify both electronic and ionic exchange–correlation effects in the system,and to compare the results with those of earlier incomplete models such as the archetypal uniform electron gas or electrons in a fixed ion snapshot potential that do not take into account the interplay between the two *** full electronic density response is highly sensitive to electronic localization around the ions,and our results constitute unambiguous predictions for upcoming X-ray Thomson scattering experiments with hydrogen jets and fusion *** PIMC results are made freely available and can be used directly for a gamut of applications,including inertial confinement fusion calculations and the modeling of dense astrophysical ***,they constitute invaluable benchmark data for approximate but computationally less demanding approaches such as density functional theory or PIMC within the fixed-node approximation.

We present a novel approach for Stimulated Raman Scattering(SRS)spectroscopy in which a hyper spectral resolution and high-speed spectral acquisition are achieved by employing amplified offset-phase controlled fs-pulse *** investigate the method by solving the coupled non-linear Schrödinger equations and validate it by numerically characterizing SRS in molecular nitrogen as a model *** spectral resolution of the method is found to be determined by the inverse product of the number of pulses in the burst and the intraburst pulse *** SRS spectrum is obtained through a motion-free scanning of the offset phase that results in a sweep of the Raman-shift *** to high spectral resolution and fast motion-free scanning the technique is beneficial for a number SRS-based applications such as gas sensing and chemical analysis.

This article describes an extension of the theory of vortices to electromagnetic types with a start point from known fluid systems. From this, properties of gravity-generating objects (particles and black holes) can be derived, which can also describe their possible interior. This also leads to questions about stability, which are then addressed and ultimately lead to considerations of black holes and their possible internal structure. The results fit into the observable areas and can also be directly verified because they were analytically calculated in SI units.

Development of a Framework for Equipment Health Management in the Mining Industries in Zambia

The Zambian mining industry is crucial to the national economy but struggles with inconsistent equipment maintenance practices. This study developed an Equipment Maintenance Management Framework (EMMF) tailored to the industry’s needs. Using surveys, interviews, and on-site visits at eight major mining companies, we identified significant variations in maintenance strategies, CMMS usage, and reliability engineering. The EMMF prioritizes predictive maintenance, efficient CMMS implementation, ongoing training, and robust reliability engineering to shift from reactive to proactive maintenance. We recommend adopting continuous improvement practices and data-driven decision-making based on performance metrics, with a phased EMMF implementation aligning maintenance with strategic business objectives. This framework is poised to enhance operational efficiency, equipment reliability, and safety, fostering sustainable growth in the Zambian mining sector.
