Pathology of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma:Facts,challenges and future developments

Despite major improvements concerning its diagnosis and treatment,pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDAC) remains an aggressive disease with an extremely poor prognosis. Pathology,as interface discipline between basic and clinical medicine,has substantially contributed to the recent developments and has laid the basis for further progress. The definition and classification of precursor lesions of PDAC and their molecular characterization is a fundamental step for the potential identification of biomarkers and the development of imaging methods for early detection. In addition,by integrating findings in humans with the knowledge acquired through the investigation of transgenic mouse models for PDAC,a new model for pancreatic carcinogenesis has been proposed and partially validated in individuals with genetic predisposition for PDAC. The introduction and validation of a standardized system for pathology reporting based on the axial slicing technique has shown that most pancreatic cancer resections are R1 resections and that this is due to inherent anatomical and biological properties of *** standardized assessment of prognostic relevant parameters represents the basis for the successful conduction of multicentric studies and for the interpretation of their ***,recent studies have shown that distinct molecular subtypes of PDAC exist and are associated with different prognosis and therapy *** prospective validation of these results and the integration of molecular analyses in a comprehensive pathology report in the context of individualised cancer therapy represent a major challenge for the future.

A high-purity Ti(HP-Ti)sheet was subjected to small strain rolling(10%reduction)with microstructural and textural characteristics examined by electron channeling contrast imaging and electron backscatter diffraction *** attentions were paid to misorientation and textural changes aroused by twins in the rolled HP-Ti *** show that after the 10%rolling,almost all the prior equiaxed grains in the initial specimen are twinned,leading to remarkable grain *** presence of two major misorientation angle peaks around 65°and 85°is ascribed to{11-22}and{10-12}twinning,respectively,and two minor peaks around 47°and 77°are due mainly to impingement of various variants of such *** from earlier work,the small strain rolling is confirmed to be able to induce drastic textural changes in pure Ti sheets:largely reduced texture intensity and appearance of new textural *** can essentially be attributed to enhanced twinning activity due to much lower impurity contents of the present ***{11?22}twins are mainly responsible for the new textural component of c-axes aligned near the rolling direction with spread,while the component of caxes parallel to the normal direction is due to reorientation of secondary{10-12}*** study clearly demonstrates the capability of small strain rolling to effectively modify both microstructures and textures of the HP?Ti sheet and may shed some light on exploring feasible processings for such materials.

Two basic motivations for an upgraded JLab facility are the needs： to determine the essential nature of light-quark confinement and dynamical chiral symmetry breaking （DCSB）; and to understand nucleon structure and spectroscopy in terms of QCD＇s elementary degrees of freedom. During the next ten years a programme of experiment and theory will be conducted that can address these questions. We present a Dyson- Schwinger equation perspective on this effort with numerous illustrations, amongst them： an interpretation of string^breaking; a symmetry-preserving truncation for mesons; the nucleon＇s strangeness σ-term; and the neutron＇s charge distribution.

Construction Industry operates relying on various key economic *** of these indicators is material *** the other hand,cost is a key concern in all operations of the construction *** the uncertain conditions,reliable cost forecasts become an important source of *** cost is one of the key components of the overall cost of *** addition,cost overrun is a common problem in the construction industry,where nine out of ten construction projects face cost *** order to carry out a successful cost management strategy and prevent cost overruns,it is very important to find reliable methods for the estimation of construction material *** prices have a time dependent *** order to increase the foreseeability of the costs of construction materials,this study focuses on estimation of construction material indices through time series *** different types of analysis are implemented for estimation of the future values of construction material *** first method implemented was Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average(ARIMA),which is known to be successful in estimation of time series having a linear *** second method implementedwas Non-LinearAutoregressive Neural Network(NARNET)which is known to be successful in modeling and estimating of series with non-linear *** results have shown that depending on the nature of the series,both these methods can successfully and accurately estimate the future values of the *** addition,we found out that Optimal NARNET architectures which provide better accuracy in estimation of the series can be identified/discovered as result of grid search on NARNET hyperparameters.

BACKGROUND Diabetes mellitus type 2(T2DM)is a state of hyperglycemia due to a defect in the secretion and/or action of insulin,and it represents the most common form of diabetes *** Mexico,10.3%of the adult population have been diagnosed with T2DM and it is expanding to the pediatric *** To evaluate and compare the prevalence of T2DM in the pediatric population at the Children’s Hospital,“Hospital Infantil de México Federico Gómez(HIMFG)”,at two time periods:2013 vs *** A comparison of two cross-sectional studies was done(2013 and 2018).The study population was comprised of children and adolescents 8-17 years old,from the Diabetes Clinic at the aforementioned institution.A comprehensive interrogation regarding family history and perinatal antecedents was *** blood work after 12 h of fasting was obtained to determine serum levels of glucose,glycated hemoglobin,lipid profile,C-peptide,and *** data were analysed using the statistical software package SPSS v.23.0.A P value of<0.05 was considered statistically *** A total of 151 patients were included:47 from 2013,and 104 from *** were age differences noted between the two periods with younger patients presenting T2DM in ***,T2DM predominated in the male sex in 55.36%in 2013 vs 32.7%in *** increased prevalence of T2DM was noted from 2013 to 2018(20.2%vs 33.0%,respectively),which was a statistically significant 12.8%increase(P<0.0001).The illness phenotype was more aggressive in the 2018 group with the presence of a higher proportion of obesity,insulin resistance,and adverse lipid *** The prevalence of T2DM at the HIMFG institution from 2013 to 2018 increased by 12.8%(20.2%vs 33.0%,respectively).The study results demonstrate the need for vigilance in T2DM trends,and to strengthen programs of healthy nutrition and physical activity as well as early detection and risk factors for obesity,data on insulin resistance,and metabo

Rodents with prevailing subterranean activity usually play an important role in the ecosystems of which they are a part due to the combined effect of herbivory and soil *** is the case for the giant root-rat Tachyoryctes macrocephalus endemic to the Afroalpine ecosystem of the Bale Mountains,*** studied the impact of root-rats on various ecosystem features within a 3.5-ha study locality dominated by Alchemilla pasture,which represents an optimal habitat for this species,in 2 periods of a *** root-rats altered plant species composition,reducing the dominant forb,Alchemilla abyssinica,while enhancing Salvia merjame and a few other species,and reduced vegetation cover,but not the fresh plant *** burrows were abandoned by root-rats,other rodents took them over and *** increased ***-rat burrowing created small-scale heterogeneity in soil compactness due to the backfilling of some unused burrow *** compacted soil tended to be rich in nutrients,including carbon,nitrogen and phosphorus,which likely affected the plant growth on sites where the vegetation has been reduced as a result of root-rat foraging and burrowing.
