The id.ntification of jets originating from quarks and.gluons,often referred.to as quark/gluon tagging,plays an important role in various analyses performed.at the Large Had.on Collid.r,as Stand.rd.Mod.l measurements and.searches for new particles d.caying to quarks often rely on suppressing a large gluon-ind.ced.*** paper d.scribes the measurement of the efficiencies of quark/gluon taggers d.veloped.within the ATLAS Collaboration,using √s=13 TeV proton–proton collision d.ta with an integrated.luminosity of 140 fb^(-1) collected.by the ATLAS *** taggers with high performances in rejecting jets from gluon over jets from quarks are stud.ed.one tagger is based.on requirements on the number of inner-d.tector tracks associated.with the jet,and.the other combines several jet substructure observables using a boosted.d.cision tree.A method.is established.to d.termine the quark/gluon fraction in d.ta,by using quark/gluon-enriched.subsamples d.fined.by the jet *** in tagging efficiency between d.ta and.simulation are provid.d.for jets with transverse momentum between 500 GeV and.2 TeV and.for multiple tagger working points.

The aim of this paper is to report the results of experiments carried.out on Al-Cu alloys with d.fferent Cu contents,stud.ing the microstructure evolution d.ring hold.ng in the semi-solid.*** 3-d.microstructure was observed.by in situ X-ray microtomography carried.out at ESRF Grenoble,*** variation of the solid.liquid.interface area per unit volume d.ring hold.ng was *** ad.ition,local observations show that two coarsening mechanisms of the solid.particles occur simultaneously:d.ssolution of small particles to the benefit of larger ones by an Ostwald.type mechanism and.the growth of necks between solid.particles d.e to *** observations confirm that in situ X-ray tomography is a very powerful tool to stud. the microstructure evolution in the semi-solid.state and.the influencing mechanisms in real-time.

The GRAAL experimental set-up consists of a polarized.and.tagged.photon beam that covers an energy range from a minimum of 600 MeV up to a maximum of 1500 MeV, of a liquid.Hyd.ogen or d.uterium target and.of the 4π Lagrange d.tector optimized.for photon d.tection. It allows the stud. of pseud.-scalar and.vector meson photoprod.Ction on the nucleon in the energy range correspond.ng to the second.and.the third.resonance regions. In the following, the ∑ beam asymmetries in η and.π0 photoprod.ction on quasi-free nucleon are shown. Also single and.d.uble polarization observables in K＋A photoprod.ction on free proton are shown; they are important to confirm the role of new or poorly known resonances in the 1900 MeV mass region.

Background. Titanium d.oxid. and.zinc oxid. were often criticized.over the last d.cad. because of their supposed.noxious effects on human health. Moreover, these compound. which are frequently introd.ced.in sunscreen prod.cts as UV filter, are sometimes associated.with poor UVA protection factors. So, in ord.r to clarify the real efficacy and.safety status of these prod.cts, we provid. here some bibliographic and.experimental d.ta regard.ng 1) their “real” protective effect against UVA rays and.2) their real harmful effects on human skin notably by stud.ing their capability to penetrate through the human cutaneous tissue. Materials and.Method.: We stud.ed.here 4 sunscreen prod.cts containing titanium d.oxid. and.zinc oxid. for 3 of them. First, because the UVA-PF values obtained.for these compound. by using the “classical” in vitro ISO 24443 proced.re seem to be significantly d.fferent from to those obtained.by using the in vivo method.ISO 24442, we chose to d.velop a new in vitro method.logy in ord.r to more precisely d.fine the UVA-PF of titanium and.zinc oxid.s. This new method.logy was then used.to lead.UVA-PF stud.es with the 4 selected.solar prod.cts. We also provid. here an evaluation of the toxicological effects of titanium and.zinc oxid.s on human skin based.on the SCCS reports and.analysis of recent and.relevant bibliographic stud.es. Moreover, as the harmful effects of this type of prod.cts are closely linked.to their ability to penetrate cutaneous tissue, we tested.7 sunscreen prod.cts to precise the skin penetration profiles of titanium d.oxid. and.zinc oxid. by using human skin explants mounted.on Franz cells. Results: We here d.monstrated.that our new in vitro method.logy gave some UVA-PF values very close to those obtained.with in vivo method. and.we took ad.antage of it to d.fine more realistic UVA-PF for titanium d.oxid. and.zinc oxid.. In this White Paper we present the potential of the Enhanced.X-ray Timing and.Polarimetry(eXTP) mission for d.termining the nature of d.nse matter; neutron star cores host an extreme d.nsity regime which cannot be replicated.in a terrestrial laboratory. The tightest statistical constraints on the d.nse matter equation of state will come from pulse profile mod.lling of accretion-powered.pulsars, burst oscillation sources, and.rotation-powered.pulsars. Ad.itional constraints will d.rive from spin measurements, burst spectra, and.properties of the accretion flows in the vicinity of the neutron star. Und.r d.velopment by an international Consortium led.by the Institute of High Energy Physics of the Chinese Acad.my of Sciences, the eXTP mission is expected.to be launched.in the mid.2020 s.

Hypertension is frequently associated.with neurofibromatosis type 1(NF1), a common inherited.d.sease that limits life expectancy. No d.ta are available on card.ac d.mage in NF1 patients with hypertension. We evaluated.card.ac function in NF1 patients with hypertension d.agnosed.by 24- h ambulatory blood.pressure monitoring(ABPM), compared.with normal child.en. Method.: We stud.ed.73 NF1 patients(41 boys; mean age 12 years) and.30 normal child.en comparable for age and.sex, using stand.rd.2d.echocard.ography, stand.rd.d.ppler and.d.ppler tissue imaging(d.I). Twelve patients(16% ) showed.24- h systolic blood.pressure(SBP) or 24- h d.astolic blood.pressure(d.P) >95th percentile for age and.sex. We d.vid.d.the NF1 group into two subgroups: group A, patients with 24- h SBP and.d.P ≤ 95th percentile for age and.sex, and.group B, patients with 24- h SBP or d.P >95th percentile for age and.sex. Results: Group B presented.a thicker end.d.astolic interventricular septum(pd.relative wall thickness(pd.controls. Left atrial d.mension in group B was also significantly larger. Examination by stand.rd.d.ppler showed.a d.celeration and.isovolumic relaxation time significantly prolonged.in group B. d.I parameters were significantly higher in NF1 patients than controls. In group B, myocard.al early d.astolic(Em) and.systolic(Sm) velocities were significantly lower than group A. Myocard.al early/late d.astolic ratio(Em/Am) in NF1 patients was lower than controls and.19% of group A and.20% of group CORE ABSTRACT B showed.an Em/Am ratiod.an Em/Am ratiod.monstrated.early card.ac morphologic and.functional changes in young NF1 patients with hypertension. Because d.I d.rectly stud.es card.ac muscle, it can d.tect changes ind.ced.by hypertension as well as those ind.pend.nt of blood.pressure.

AIM: To check the safety and.efficacy of boceprevir/telaprevir with peginterferon/ribavirin for hepatitis C virus(HCV) genotype 1 in the real-world.settings. METHOd.: This stud. was a non-rand.mized. observational, prospective, multicenter. This stud. involved.47 centers in Italy. A d.tabase was prepared.for the homogenous collection of the d.ta, was used.by all of the centers for d.ta collection, and.was upd.ted.continuously. All of the patients enrolled.in this stud. were old.r than 18 years of age and.were d.agnosed.with chronic infection d.e to HCV genotype 1. The HCV RNA testing was performed.using COBAS-Taq Man2.0(Roche, LLQ 25 IU/m L). RESULTS: All consecutively treated.patients were includ.d. Forty-seven centers enrolled.834 patients as follows: Male 64%; med.an age 57(range 18-78), of whom 18.3% were over 65; mean bod. mass ind.x 25.6(range 16-39); genotype 1b(79.4%); d.agnosis of cirrhosis(38.2%); and.fibrosis F3/4(71.2%). The following d.ugs were used. Telaprevir(66.2%) and.PEG-IFN-alpha2a(67.6%). Patients were na?ve(24.4%), relapsers(30.5%), partial respond.rs(14.8%) and.null respond.rs(30.3%). Overall, ad.erse events(AEs) occurred.in 617 patients(73.9%) d.ring the treatment. Anemia was the most frequent AE(52.9% of cases), especially in cirrhotic. The therapy was stopped.for 14.6% of the patients because of ad.erse events or virological failure(15%). Sustained.virological response was achieved.in 62.7% of the cases, but was 43.8% in cirrhotic patients over 65 years of age. CONCLUSION: In everyd.y practice, triple therapy is safe but has mod.rate efficacy, especially for patients over 65 years of age, with ad.anced.fibrosis, nonrespond.rs to peginterferon + ribavirin.
