The Relationship between T-Wave Alternans and Adverse Cardiac Events in Patients with Congenital Long QT Syndrome:A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Background:T-wave alternans(TWA)is a risk factor of ventricular arrhythmias or sudden cardiac death(SCD)in patients with ischemic ***,the relationship between TWA and adverse cardiac events(ACE)in patients with congenital long QT syndrome(LQT)remains ***:A systematic electronic search of PubMed,Embase and the Cochrane Library was conducted from database inception dates to 28 April 2021 and assessed the relationship between TWA and ACE in patients with ***-group analysis evaluated the association between microvolt TWA(MTWA)and ACE in different monitoring models and ECGlead ***:A pooled analysis of seven studies of 625 patients with LQTS showed that TWA was significantly associated with ACE(OR 3.16,95%CI 1.86–5.37,P<0.001).Advanced analysis showed that macroscopic TWA was significantly related to ACE(OR 6.01,95%CI 2.96–12.21,P<0.001),while MTWA did not(OR 0.92,95%CI 0.37–2.30,P=0.85).Sub-group analysis showed that MTWA recorded in 24 h continuous ECG(OR 6.79,95%CI 0.80–57.75,P=0.08)might have a stronger association with ACE than recorded in stress ECG(OR 0.28,95%CI 0.07–1.10,P=0.07).No difference was observed between MTWA measured in multi-lead ECG and limited ECG leads(P=0.15).Conclusions:Macroscopic TWA was significantly related to ACE in patients with *** terms of MTWA,MTWA recorded in 24 h continuous ECG might have a stronger association with ACE than stress ECG,but still deserves further evaluation.

The aging of alveolar stem cells has been linked to many chronic lung diseases, including pulmonary fibrosis. However, the effects of aging on alveolar stem cells during homeostasis and post-injury alveolar repair have not been well characterized. Here we conducted a single-cell RNA sequencing(scRNA-seq) analysis of alveolar stem cells of 3-month-old and 12-month-old mice to characterize the aging effect on alveolar stem cells. Our results have shown that the transcriptomes of alveolar stem cells of 3-month-old and 12-month-old mice are not significantly different under the steady condition. However, after a bleomycin-induced lung injury, the alveolar stem cells of 12-month-old mice show enhanced inflammatory responses and decreased lipid metabolism. Our study suggests a close relationship among aging, lipid metabolism, inflammatory responses and chronic lung diseases.

Dear Editor,Cushing’s disease(CD)is a rare disease manifested as Cushing’s syndrome caused by adrenocorticotropic hormone(ACTH)consistently over-secreted by adrenocorticotropic adenomas,followed by stimulation of the adrenal gland to secrete considerable cortisol,triggering metabolic dysfunction,and leading to death from ***,pituitary adrenocorticotropic adenoma-directed drugs can only inhibit ACTH secretion or hamper tumour growth,which limits their clinical ***,Nur77(also known as NR4A1 and NGFI-Ba,a kind of nuclear receptor),an important positive transcription regulator of pro-opiomelanocortin(POMC),the precursor of ACTH,has been regarded as a promising CD target.1 Hence,it would be promising to identify a combination treatment that targets Nur77 and another CD target to cover hormone normalisation in the short term and tumour suppression or even elimination in the long term.

In this paper, a model of Beddington-DeAngelies chemostat involving two species of micro-organism competing for two perfectly complementary growth-limiting nutrients and pulsed input of toxicant in the polluted environment was studied. Using Floquet theory and small amplitude perturbation method, a conclusion was that there exists twomicro-organism eradication periodic solution and which is global asymptotical stability. At the same time, the condition of the permanence for system was obtained. From the biological point of view, the method for protecting species is to improve the amount of impulsive period, and control the amount of toxicant input to the chemostat. Finally, our results are illustrated by numerical simulations.

Background:The purpose of our study was to assess whether the occurrence of ISR might be associated with plasma TMAO levels in patients with ACS after DES ***:This was a single center retrospective case-control study,in which 64 symptomatic patients with repeated coronary angiography after PCI and 15 patients with ISR were included in the ISR group,and 49 patients without ISR were included in the non-ISR ***-performance liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry was used to measure plasma TMAO ***:No significant differences were observed in plasma TMAO between the ISR and non-ISR *** TMAO levels showed no significant correlation with ISR,but were significantly positively correlated with diabetes mellitus,serum HbA1c levels and serum creatinine levels;moreover,they were significantly negatively correlated with female *** was significantly positively correlated with diabetes mellitus,fasting blood glucose levels,the neutro-phil to lymphocyte ratio and syntax score;in addition,it was significantly negatively correlated with *** regression analysis indicated that fasting blood glucose was the only independent predictor of ***:Plasma TMAO may not be associated with ISR and plaque burden in patients with ACS after DES im-plantation,whereas FBG may predict the development of ISR in these patients.

MiR-122 is one of the non-coding RNAs which showed its effects on the lipo-metablism, virus infection and HCC forming through regulation of liver gene expression. Its eukaryotic expression vector was constructed by using pSuper which was widely applied in the siRNA expression. The precursor of human miR-122 gene was amplified by polymerase chain reaction （PCR） from the human genomic DNA. The positive clones were screened by PCR and restriction enzyme digestion. The new expression vector of miR-122 was named pHsa-m122. PHsa-m122 and its controls were transfected to HepG2 cells. The miR-122 expression activity was evaluated by GFP122i sensor reporter plasmid through fluorescence detection and Western blot. It was shown that the fluorescence intensity of GFP122si and pHsa-m122 co-transfection group was weaker than that of the controls, so the functional activity of expressed miR-122 was detected. When HepG2 cells were co-transfected with HBV1.3 and pHsa-m122 plasmids, the results showed miR-122 may down-regulate the gene expression of HBV. The human liver specific microRNA eukaryotic expression vector of miR-122 was constructed successfully, which may facilitate further study of its function in the development of liver virus infection diseases and HCC. Background and Aims:The clinicopathological features and long-term outcomes of patients with vanishing bile duct syndrome(VBDS)have yet to be *** study aims to investigate these features and identify factors associated with poor ***:This multicenter retrospective study recruited patients with liver biopsy-proven VBDS who were followed up at five hospitals in northern China from January 2003 to April *** and pathological data at time of biopsy were *** outcomes including cirrhosis,decompensation events,liver transplantation(LT),and liver-related death were *** regression analysis was used to identify the risk factors associated with poor ***:A total of 183 patients were *** median age was 47 years,with 77.6%being *** a median follow-up of 4.8 years,88 patients developed compensated or decompensated cirrhosis,27 died,and 15 received *** Cox regression analysis showed that hepatocellular cholestasis(HR 2.953,95%CI:1.437–6.069),foam cells(HR 2.349,95%CI:1.092–5.053),and advanced fibrosis(HR 2.524,95%CI:1.313–4.851)were independent predictors of LT or liver-related deaths.A nomogram formulated with the above factors showed good consistency with a concordance index of 0.746(95%CI:0.706–0.785).Conclusions:Nearly half of VBDS patients studied progressed to end-stage liver disease and 23%of them had LT or liver-related death within two years of *** cholestasis,foam cells and advanced fibrosis rather than the degree of bile duct loss or underlying etiologies were independently associated with poor prognosis in VBDS patients.
