Electrochemical CO_(2)reduction is a viable,economical,and sustainable method to transform atmospheric CO_(2)into carbon-based fuels and effectively reduce climate change and the energy *** robust catalysts through interface engineering is significant for electrocatalytic CO_(2)reduction(ECR)but remains a grand ***,SnO2/Bi_(2)O_(2)CO_(3)heterojunction on N,S-codoped-carbon(SnO_(2)/BOC@NSC)with efficient ECR performance was firstly constructed by a facile synthetic *** the SnO_(2)/BOC@NSC was utilized in ECR,it exhibits a large formic acid(HCOOH)partial current density(JHCOOH)of 86.7 mA·cm^(−2)at−1.2 V versus reversible hydrogen electrode(RHE)and maximum Faradaic efficiency(FE)of HCOOH(90.75%at−1.2 V versus RHE),***,the FEHCOOH of SnO_(2)/BOC@NSC is higher than 90%in the flow cell and the JHCOOH of SnO_(2)/BOC@NSC can achieve 200 mA·cm^(−2)at−0.8 V versus RHE to meet the requirements of industrialization *** comparative experimental analysis and in-situ X-ray absorption fine structure reveal that the excellent ECR performance can be ascribed to the synergistic effect of SnO_(2)/BOC heterojunction,which enhances the activation of CO_(2)molecules and improves electron *** work provides an efficient SnO_(2)-based heterojunction catalyst for effective formate production and offers a novel approach for the construction of new types of metal oxide heterostructures for other catalytic applications.

Corals influence microorganisms within the surrounding seawater,yet the diversities and functions of seawater bacteria and microeukaryotes in coral-reef systems have not been well *** collected 40 seawater samples in outer coral reef flats and semi-closed inner lagoons from the surface,middle and bottom layers in the pristine coral-reef system of Xisha Islands,South China *** detected the abundance,composition and distribution of bacteria and microeukaryotes using flow cytometry,qPCR and high throughput sequencing techniques,and profiled the potential ecological roles based on the information of 16S and 18S rDNA *** terms of flow cytometry,Prochlorococcus dominated the autotrophs with cell abundance ranging from 5.8×10^(2)to 5.44×10^(3)cells mL−1 *** on qPCR,the 16S rDNA copies were much higher in coral reef flats than in lagoons(P=0.003).The bacterial communities held significantly lower diversity in bottom waters compared with surface and middle waters(P<0.05),which were dominated by SAR11,Flavobacteriales,and *** represented most of the microeukaryotic communities with Dinophyceae and Syndiniales well represented in all *** bacterial nor microeukaryotic community exhibited distinct layer or niche pattern,however,Haptophyta and Picozoa decreased with depth and SAR 86,MAST-3 and Picozoa were enriched in lagoons(P<0.05).To adapt the nutrient-poor and organic matter-rich environment,bacterial nitrogen fixation and assimilatory/dissimilatory nitrate reduction were active in the system,and mixotrophy was the most important trophic strategy among *** study highlighted the ecological adaptability of seawater microbes to the unique coral-reef environments.

Objective:To evaluate the safety and efficacy of neoadjuvant chemotherapy(NCT)in mid-low locally advanced rectal cancer with negative mesorectal fascia(MRF).Methods:This prospective,single-arm phaseⅡtrial was designed and conducted at Peking University Cancer *** patients who provided consent received 3 months of NCT(capecitabine and oxaliplatin,CapOX)followed by total mesorectal excision(TME).The primary endpoint was the rate of pathological complete response(pCR).Results:From January 2019 through December 2021,a total of 53 patients were enrolled,7.5%of whom experienced grade 3-4 adverse events during *** pCR rate was 17.0%for the entire cohort,and the overall rate of postoperative complications was 37.7%(1.9%of gradeⅢa patients).The 3-year disease-free survival rate was 91.4%,and 23.5%(12/51)of the patients suffered from major low anterior resection syndrome(LARS).Postoperative complications were independently associated with major ***:For patients with mid-low rectal cancer with negative MRF,3 months of NCT were found to yield a favorable tumor response with acceptable *** fair long-term survival,the NCT regimen could be associated with low rates of perioperative complications as well as acceptable anal function.

Objective:The accurate prediction of tumor response to neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy(nCRT)remains *** studies have investigated pathologic complete response(ypCR)prediction in patients with residual flat mucosal lesions after *** study aimed to identify variables for predicting ypCR in patients with residual flat mucosal lesions after nCRT for locally advanced rectal cancer(LARC).Methods:Data of patients with residual flat mucosal lesions after nCRT who underwent radical resection between 2009 and 2015 were retrospectively collected from the LARC database at Peking University Cancer *** and multivariate analyses of the association between clinicopathological factors and ypCR were performed,and a nomogram was constructed by incorporating the significant ***:Of the 246 patients with residual flat mucosal lesions included in the final analysis,56(22.8%)had *** and multivariate analyses showed that pretreatment cT stage(pre-cT)≤T2(P=0.016),magnetic resonance tumor regression grade(MR-TRG)1-3(P=0.001)and residual mucosal lesion depth=0 mm(P<0.001)were associated with a higher rate of ypCR.A nomogram was developed with a concordance index(C-index)of0.759 and the calibration curve showed that the nomogram model had good predictive *** follow-up time ranged from 3.0 to 113.3 months,with a median follow-up time of 63.77 *** multivariate Cox regression model showed that the four variables in the nomogram model were not risk factors for disease-free survival(DFS)or overall survival(OS).Conclusions:Completely flat mucosa,early cT stage and good MR-TRG were predictive factors for ypCR instead of DFS or OS in patients with LARC with residual flat mucosal lesions after *** mucosal re-evaluation before surgery is important,as it may contribute to decision-making and facilitate nonoperative management or organ preservation.

Rational design of a molecular catalyst for a hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) with both high rates and low overpotential remains a challenge. Here we report a series of Ni‐based catalysts incorporating non‐innocent ligands and aimed at reduction of the overpotential by reserving electrons in the ligand, which could decouple the correlation between metal center reduction and metal hydride formation. The third‐order rate constant of our catalysts can be increased by 2 orders of magnitude without increase of overpotential by altering the substituents in the imide since the electronic effect of substituents can change the kinetics of metal hydride formation dramatically. Furthermore, constructing a proton shuttle in the ligand further improves the activity. The catalyst with both of these features can catalyze HER at a turnover frequency of 2572 s –1 with low concentrations of acid and an extremely high third‐order rate constant of 2.7×10 6 M –2 ·s –1 at a low overpotential.

We propose and demonstrate an all-fiber liquid-level sensor using an in-line multimode-single-mode-multimode (MSM) fiber structure. A piece of single-mode fiber (SMF) is spliced to two sections of equivalent multimode fiber (MMF) which are used as both mode splitter and mode coupler. The cladding mode will be excited when the light propagates from MMF to SMF, and then it will be combined with fundamental mode to form a Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI) when the light propagates from SMF to the other MMF. The liquid level is detected by the selected resonant dips shift of the transmission spectrum. A sensing sensitivity of 264.6 pm/mm is achieved for the proposed sensor with an SMF length of 26mm. Due to its compact structure, easy fabrication, and high sensitivity, the proposed liquid-level sensor is attractive for practical applications in a variety of fields, such as marine detection and chemical processing.

Effects of Xingnaojing Injection on Cerebral Neurological Function and ET-1, hs-CRP and TNF-α Levels in Elderly Patients with Acute Cerebral Infarction

OBJECTIVE: To observe the effects of Xingnaojing Injection on the function of cranial nerves and the level of ET-1,hs-CRP and TNF-α in elderly patients with acute cerebral infarction. METHODS: A total of 86 elderly patients with acute cerebral infarction were randomly divided into observation group and control group. The 43 cases in the control group were treated by conventional Western medicine, and 43 cases in the observation group were treated by Xingnaojing injection on the basis of the treatment in control group. After 2 weeks' treatment in Xuancheng People's Hospital of Anhui Province, the neurological function(NIHSS score and MMSE score), daily living ability(BI Index score and ADL score),laboratory indicators(hs-CRP, ET-1, TNF-α) of the 2 groups before and after the treatment were observed and compared,the total clinical effectiveness of the 2 groups were compared. RESULTS: The total effective rate was 88.4% in the observation group, which was signi?cantly higher than that in the control group(62.8%)(P < 0.05). The NIHSS scores in the 2 groups were both signi?cantly increased after the treatment(P < 0.05) while the MMSE scores were signi?cantly decreased(P < 0.05) in the 2 groups, and the scores' improvement in the observation group was signi?cantly higher than that in the control group(P < 0.05). The BI score and ADL score were significantly increased in the 2 groups after the treatment(P < 0.05), and the improvements were obvious in the observation group. The levels of ET-1, hs-CRP and TNF-αin the 2 groups were signi?cantly decreased after the treatment(P < 0.05), and the indexes in the observation group were signi?cantly lower than that in the control group(P < 0.05). CONLUSIONS: Xingnaojing injection can reduce the levels of serum ET-1, hs-CRP and TNF-α, as well as the degree of neurological de?cit in the treatment of elderly patients with acute cerebral infarction. It is also helpful for the prognosis and outcomes of patients with cerebral infarction.
