AIM： TO explore the pathogenesis of the rectovestibular disruption （RVD） defect and to recommend a successful repair, and prevention of it. METHODS： Clinical records of 15 girls, age ranged from 3 to 15 （median, 7.5） years, with acquired rectovestibular fistula （RVF） mistreated before were retrospectively reviewed. All of them presented an abnormal appearance of perineum and were suffering from some degree of fecal incontinence, and those were graded Ⅲ to IV by Li zheng＇s Score. Repair of anal sphincters and reconstruction of perineum body and skin by anterior perineal rectoanoplasty were performed in all cases. RESULTS： Operation in all cases was successful. The *** looked practically normal and fecal continence score rose up to VI by Li zheng＇s Score. CONCLUSION： The conventional treatment for anal fistula, lay-open or string-treatment, should be considered as malpractice of RVF, and certainly leads to the RVD defect, and the anterior perineal rectoanoplasty could cure it satisfactorily.

AIM： To study the stability of portal hypertension （PHT） caused by partial ligation of the portal vein ligation （PVL） in a rat model.METHODS： Thirty male adult Wistar rats were divided into two groups： 10 in Group Ⅰ received a sham operation; and 20 in Group Ⅱreceived partial PVL. Portal vein pressure （PVP） was measured at four time periods： before ligation, 2 wk, 6 wk and 10 wk postsurgery. Portal venography, blood sampling and liver and spleen pathological examinations were conducted at 10 wk after surgery.RESULTS： The PVP was 9.15± 0.58 cmH2O before ligation, and increased to 17.32 ±0.63 cmH2O 2 wk after PVL. By repeat measurement of the PVP in each rat, it was shown to remain elevated for 10 wk. There were no significant differences in the pressure measurements at 2 wk, 6 wk and 10 wk. Varices were found mainly in the mesenteric vein 2 wk after PVL, which were more obvious later, while these manifestations were similar at week 6 and week 10. Portal venography demonstrated the varices and collaterals. There was no significant change in liver pathology. The volume of the spleen was enlarged 2-fold after ligation, and the sinus of the spleen was enlarged due to congestion. Significant sinus endothelial cell proliferation was observed, but no evidence of hypersplenia was found on hemogram and biochemical examination.CONCLUSION： These findings suggest that a satisfactory prehepatic PHT rat model can be obtained by partial ligation of the portal vein, and this PHT rat model was stable for at least 10 wk.

The ZnO-modified TiO2 electrode was prepared by adding Zn（CH3COO）2·2H2O to the TiO2 colloid during the sol-gel production process, and was used in dye-sensitized solar cells （DSCs）. The open circuit voltage （Voc） and fill factor （if） of the cells were improved sig- nificantly. The performances of the ZnO-modified TiO2 electrode such as dark current, transient photocurrent, impedance, absorption spectra, and fiat band potential （Vfb） were investigated. It is found that the interface charge recombination impedance increases and Vfb shifts about 200 mV toward the cathodic potential. The effect mechanism of ZnO modification on the performance of DSCs may be that ZnO occupies the surface states of the TiO2 film.

The phenomenon of multiphase flow in porous media is confronted in various fields of science and industrial applications. Owing to the complicated porous structure, the flow mechanisms are still not completely resolved. A critical and fundamental question is the variation of pore structure and REV sizes among different types of porous media. In this study, a total of 22 porous samples were employed to systematically evaluate the pore-based architecture and REV sizes based on X-ray CT image analysis and pore network modelling. It is found that the irregular grain shapes give rise to large specific areas,narrow and thin throats in identical sand packs. The packs with more types of sands, or composited by the sands with larger difference in diameter, have larger specific area, smaller tortuosity and pore *** on the REV measurement through porosity solely, the REV sizes of sand packs are generally in the order of magnitude of 10^(-2) m L, while it is at least one order of magnitude smaller in rock cores. Our result indicates that the combination of porosity and Euler number is an effective indicator to get the REV sizes of porous samples.

In this work,the impacts of pressure on the structural,mechanical,thermodynamic and electronic properties of typical Pt_(3)M(M=Al,Co,Hf,Sc,Y,Zr)compounds were investigated systematically by the firstprinciples density function theory *** calculated lattice parameters,volume and elastic constants of Pt_(3)M compounds are in good agreement with available experimental and calculation *** the increase in pressure,the lattice parameters and volume of Pt_(3)M compounds decrease,while the elastic constants,bulk modulus,shear modulus and Young’s modulus *** variations in Pugh’s ratio and Poisson’s ratio indicate that these Pt_(3)M compounds are mechanically stable and *** mechanical anisotropy of these Pt_(3)M compounds is enhanced by rising *** analysis indicates that sound velocity and Debye temperature increase with the increase in *** charge distribution does not change obviously,implying that no phase transition occurs in the range of 0-100 GPa.

Cymbidium(Orchidaceae:Epidendroideae),with around 60 species,is widely-distributed across Southeast Asia,providing a nice system for studying the processes that underlie patterns of biodiversity in the ***,phylogenetic relationships of Cymbidium have not been well resolved,hampering investigations of species diversification and the biogeographical history of this *** this study,we construct a plastome phylogeny of 56 Cymbidium species,with four well-resolved major clades,which provides a framework for biogeographical and diversification rate *** dating and biogeographical analyses show that Cymbidium likely originated in the region spanning northern IndoBurma to the eastern Himalayas during the early Miocene(~21.10 Ma).It then rapidly diversified into four major clades in East Asia within approximately a million years during the middle *** *** to the adjacent regions(borneo,Philippines,and Sulawesi)primarily occurred during the Pliocene-Pleistocene *** analyses indicate that the net diversification rate of Cymbidium has decreased since its origin,and is positively associated with changes in temperature and monsoon *** hydrothermal conditions brought by monsoon intensification in the early Miocene possibly contributed to the initial rapid diversification,after which the net diversification rate was reduced with the cooling climate after the middle *** transition from epiphytic to terrestrial habits may have enabled adaptation to cooler environments and colonization of northern niches,yet without a significant effect on diversification *** study provides new insights into how monsoon activity and temperature changes affected the diversification dynamics of plants in Southeast Asia.

Four new species of Orchidaceae from China,Heminium lijiangense,Peristylus fasciculatus,Platanthera milinensis,and Ponerorchis gongshanensis,together with a new country record,Peristylus tenuicallus,are described and illustrated based on morphological and/or phylogenetic *** lijiangense is closely related to *** but differs from it by having the dorsal sepal ovate-orbicular and lip midlobe distinctly shorter than lateral *** is close to Peristylus tradescantifolius but is distinguished from it by having several fascicled and straight,root-like tubers(*** or two oblongoid tubers),old stems usually persistent,middle lobe of lip narrowly ligulate-lanceolate and half as long as the lateral lobes(*** lobe deltoid,about a third as long as the lateral lobes or less),a raised callus at the base of each lateral lobe(*** absent),spur gradually attenuate toward the apex(*** clavate).Platanthera milinensis is similar to *** by sharing small green flowers and lip without a spur,but differs in having a creeping rhizome,a corymbose inflorescence,and a broadly ovate and slightly 3-lobed *** gongshanensis is similar to *** in its small flowers,but differs in having a linear leaf c.3 mm wide(*** 5-13 mm wide),in the lip having collar-like raised margins on the sides of the spur entrance,and a mid-lobe which is notched at the apex but not divided into two divergent lobules that are nearly as large as the lateral lobes,as in *** the proposed species obtained high support in phylogenetic analysis as new *** recently described genus Apetalanthe is reduced to synonymy of Ponerorchis and a new combination is made.

To explore the genetic features and signatures of selection in indigenous pigs from South China and Duroc pigs,259 pigs from six populations were genotyped using single-nucleotide polymorphism(SNP)*** component analysis(PCA),effective population size(Ne),linkage disequilibrium(LD),and signatures of selection were explored and investigated among the six pig *** results showed the Ne of five South China indigenous pig populations has been decreasing rapidly since 100 generations *** LD between pairwise SNP distance at 100 kb ranged from 0.16 to 0.20 for the five indigenous pig populations,while it was 0.32 for the Duroc ***,the LD of all six pig populations showed the opposite order at long distances(>5 Mb).Furthermore,15 potential signatures of selection associated with meat quality and age at puberty were exclusively detected in South China indigenous pigs,while eight potential signatures of selection associated with growth traits were detected in Duroc *** work provides valuable insights for the utilization and conservation of South China indigenous pigs.
