An Efficient Algebraic Solution for Moving Source Localization from Quadruple Hybrid Measurements

This paper deals with the 3-D moving source localization using time difference of arrival(TDOA), frequency difference of arrival(FDOA), angle of arrival(AOA) and AOA rate measurements, gathered from a set of spatially distributed receivers. The TDOA,FDOA, AOA and AOA rate measurement equations were firstly established according to the space geometric relationship of the source relative to the receivers. Then an efficient closed-form algorithm for source position and velocity estimation from the quadruple hybrid measurements was proposed. The proposed algorithm converts the nonlinear measurement equations into a linear set of equations, which can then be used to estimate the source position and velocity applying weighted least square(WLS) minimization. In contrast to existing two-stage WLS algorithms, the proposed algorithm does not introduce any nuisance parameters and requires merely onestage, which enables for source localization with the fewest receivers necessary. Theoretical accuracy analysis shows that the proposed algorithm reaches the CramerRao lower bound, and simulation studies corroborate the efficiency and superiority of the proposed algorithm over other algorithms.

Seed germination is a critical developmental switch from a quiescent state to active growth,which involves extensive changes in metabolism,gene expression,and cellular identity.However,our understanding of epigenetic and transcriptional reprogramming during this process is limited.The histone H3 lysine 27 trimethylation(H3K27me3)plays a key role in regulating gene repression and cell fate specification.Here,we profile H3K27me3 dynamics and dissect the function of H3K27 demethylation during germination in Arabidopsis.Our temporal genome-wide profiling of H3K27me3 and transcription reveals delayed H3K27me3reprogramming compared with transcriptomic changes during germination,with H3K27me3 changes mainly occurring when the embryo is entering into vegetative development.RELATIVE OF EARLY FLOWERING 6(REF6)-mediated H3K27 demethylation is necessary for robust germination but does not significantly contribute to H3K27me3 dynamics during germination,but rather stably establishes an H3K27me3-depleted state that facilitates the activation of hormone-related and expansin-coding genes important for germination.We also show that the REF6 chromatin occupancy is gradually established during germination to counteract increased Polycomb repressive complex 2(PRC2).Our study provides key insights into the H3K27me3 dynamics during germination and suggests the function of H3K27me3 in facilitating cell fate switch.Furthermore,we reveal the importance of H3K27 demethylation-established transcriptional competence in gene activation during germination and likely other developmental processes.

La_(2)Sn_(2)O_(7)/SnO_(2)powder was synthesized by chemical co-precipitation method,and Ag-La_(2)Sn_(2)O_(7)/SnO_(2)composites were prepared by hot-pressing sintering.The electrical resistivity,density,Brinell hardness and flexural strength of Ag-La_(2)Sn_(2)O_(7)/SnO_(2)composites were measured.Moreover,the effect of La_(2)Sn_(2)O_(7)content on the arc erosion behavior of Ag-La_(2)Sn_(2)O_(7)/SnO_(2)composites at 7 kV voltage was studied.With the increase of La_(2)Sn_(2)O_(7)content,the arc duration and arc energy decrease,and the breakdown strength increases.The surface morphology of Ag-La_(2)Sn_(2)O_(2)/SnO_(2)composites after arc erosion was investigated using scanning electron microscopy and three-dimensio nal laser confocal scanning microscopy.With the increase of La_(2)Sn_(2)O_(7)content,the smaller the erosion damage,the better the anti-arc erosion performance.However,too much La_(2)Sn_(2)O_(7)results in the decrease of Ag-La_(2)Sn_(2)O_(7)/SnO_(2)properties and severe arc erosion.X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy was used to determine the composition of the erosion region.The effect of La_(2)Sn_(2)O_(7)on wettability between Ag and SnO_(2)was investigated,and the erosion mechanism of Ag-La_(2)Sn_(2)O_(7)/SnO_(2)composites was discussed systematically.This study can provide a reference for the application of Ag matrix electrical contact materials in high-voltage electrical appliances.

To the Editor:Compared with non-readmission chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)patients,the mortality rate of readmission patients is significantly higher(2.3%vs.13.4%),[1]which undoubtedly causes socio-economic pressures on rehabilitation care and medical resources.The potential factors affecting the risk of readmission are required to be identified.The incidence of malnutrition,occurring frequently in elderly COPD patients,varies from 20%to 45%depending on the screening tools used.As a practical,economical and effective scoring system,the Mini Nutrition Assessment(MNA)is of great value to assessing nutritional status in the elderly.Malnutrition is a state of vulnerability in elder populations and is associated with a poor long-term prognosis.This study aimed to research the impact of nutritional status related risk factors on readmission and assess the value of MNA scoring system and updated sarcopenia diagnostic criteria in predicting readmission risk for elderly COPD patients.

Bifunctional catalysts for hydrogen/oxygen evolution reactions(HER/OER)are urgently needed given the bright future of water splitting hydrogen production technology.Here,the self-supporting N and Ce dual-doped NiCoP nanoarrays(denoted N,Ce-NiCoP/NF)grown on Ni foam are successfully constructed.When the N,Ce-NiCoP/NF simultaneously acts as the HER and OER electrodes,the voltages of 1.54 and 2.14 V are obtained for driving 10 and 500 mA·cm^(-2)with a robust durability,and demonstrate its significant potential for practical water electrolysis.According to both experiments and calculations,the electronic structure of NiCoP may be significantly altered by strategically incorporating N and Ce into the lattice,which in turn optimizes the Gibbs free energy of HER/OER intermediates and speeds up the water splitting kinetics.Moreover,the sprout-shaped morphology significantly increases the exposure of active sites and facilitates charge/mass transfer,thereby augmenting catalyst performance.This study offers a potentially effective approach involving the regulation of anion and cation double doping,as well as architectural engineering,for the purpose of designing and optimizing innovative electrocatalysts.

As a common practice in agricultural system,straw return has been reported to release a large number of trace gases and attractedmuch attention.However,the role of straw return in toluene emission remains poorly understood.In this study we measured the emissions of toluene as well as other 50 volatile organic compounds(VOCs)from wheat straw return for 66 days under flooded and non-flooded conditions,respectively.The results showed that substantial toluene was released from the returned wheat straw particularly under flooded condition,and primarily derived from the secondary product.Toluene emissions from the returned wheat straw were 36.8 and 8.45 mg C/kg,sharing 28.0%and 8.6%of total VOCs released,and over 90% of toluene emissions occurred between days 24-56 and 0-17 under flooded and non-flooded conditions,respectively.The emission rates of toluene were relatively high but decreased sharply at the beginning 2 days,and then was steady until 24 days under the two moisture conditions.After the initial decrease these rose again to form one“peak emission window”between days 24-56 under flooded condition,while these were still very low and steady until the end under non-flooded condition.The toluene emission rates significantly positively correlated with microbial biomass C under flooded condition,but negatively associated with bacteria and fungus number,microbial biomass C,and CO_(2) flux under non-flooded condition,suggesting that microorganism might play an important role in toluene emissions from wheat straw return.A rough estimate indicated that straw return might be important for biogenic toluene.

Land areas on our planet are facing unprecedented levels of stress.More than70%of the global ice-free land has been affected by human activities,30%of the land is threatened by degradation,biodiversity and other ecosystem services(ESs) are declining,and climate change is altering ecosystem functioning [1].Currently,agriculture is the dominant form of land use,with grazing land comprising27%and cropland 12%(and more than half of the cropland is used to produce animal feed).Agriculture is responsible for about one-third of global greenhouse gas(GHG) emissions [2] and it is the primary driver of deforestation,habitat destruction,global freshwater withdrawals,and global ocean and freshwater pollution [3].As land is a limited resource,

Plants grow in dynamic environments where they receive diverse environmental signals.Swift and precise control of gene expression is essential for plants to align their development and metabolism with fluctuating surroundings.Modifications on histones serve as histone code" to specify chromatin and gene activities.Different modifications execute distinct functions on the chromatin,promoting either active transcription or gene silencing.Histone writers,erasers,and readers mediate the regulation of histone modifications by catalyzing,removing,and recognizing modifications,respectively.Growing evidence indicates the important function of histone modifications in plant development and environmental responses.Histone modifications also serve as environmental memory for plants to adapt to environmental changes.Here we review recent progress on the regulation of histone modifications in plants,the impact of histone modifications on environment-controlled developmental transitions including germination and flowering,and the role of histone modifications in environmental memory.

Impact of Antimicrobial Stewardship Programs on Antibiotic Use and Drug Resistance:Analysis of Data from Maternal and Child Health Care Hospitals in Hubei Province,China

ObjectiveTo evaluate the impact of Antimicrobial Stewardship Programs(ASPs)on antibiotic use and drug resistance.MethodsThis was a retrospective,multicenter,management intervention study.The data from 85 maternity hospitals(maternal and child health care hospitals)in Hubei province from 2012 to 2019 were collected.The indicators related to antimicrobial drug use included the utilization rate of different grades of antimicrobial drugs,the intensity of antimicrobial agent use,the rational use of prophylactic antimicrobial agents before class I surgical incision,and pathogenic detection and consultation rates before antimicrobial drug use.ResultsSince the implementation,the purchase of antimicrobial agents in hospitals has been maintained within the prescribed range,and the defined daily dose system(DDDs)of antimicrobial agents has been reduced,prophylactic use and accurate treatment of antimicrobial agents related to class I surgical incision have been more reasonable.With the implementation of ASPs,the detection rate of imipenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii,cefotaxime-resistant Escherichia coli,and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus has been decreased in China from national bacterial resistance surveillance data.ConclusionASPs have positive effects on antibiotic use and drug resistance in 85 maternity hospitals(maternal and child health care hospitals).
