Highly sensitive fluorescent sensing and photocatalytic degradation performance of two-dimensional Tb-organic network

A novel tetra-nuclear Tb-organic network,named as [Tb_(4)(2-pyia)_(6)(HAc)_(0.5)(2,2'-bipy)(H_(2)O)_(4.5)]·2,2'-bipy·H_(2)O(1),was synthesized hydrothermally based on 5-(pyridin-2-ylmethoxy) isophthalic acid(H_(2)pyia) and 2,2'-bipyridine(2,2'-bipy) ligands,and characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction,thermogravimetric(TG) analyses,powder X-ray diffraction(PXRD) and infrared(IR) technology.1 possesses a two-dimensional network based on the tetra-nuclear inorganic building units,and the π-πstacking interactions between the pyia^(2-) ligands and the guest 2,2'-bipy molecules play an important role in the forming of 3D supramolecular structure.1 exhibits excellent fluorescent sensing performance for Fe^(3+)(1.26×10^(-8) mol/L),Cr_(2)O_(7)^(2-)(8.1×10^(-7) mol/L),2,4,6-trinitrophenol(TNP)(2.71×10^(-8) mol/L)and tetracycline(TCT)(2.76×10^(-7) mol/L) in aqueous solution with lower detection concentrations.The sensing mechanisms of 1 were investigated by density functional theory(DFT) calculations,ultraviolet-visible(UV-Vis) diffuse reflectance spectroscopy,PXRD and fluorescent lifetime analyses.The activated product of 1 was prepared by heating at 255℃ under constant pressure and used to photo-catalytically degrade TCT.Both 1 and the activated one have good photocatalytic degradation performance for TCT with degradation rates of 84.29% and 96.07%,respectively.The photocatalytic mechanisms were discovered by UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy and radical trap experiments.The Tb-organic framework might be an excellent multifunctional fluorescent sensor and a good photocatalytic agent for TCT degradation in the future.

Autoimmune hepatitis-primary biliary cholangitis overlap syndrome complicated by various autoimmune diseases:A case report

BACKGROUND Autoimmune hepatitis(AIH)and primary biliary cholangitis(PBC)are two common clinical autoimmune liver diseases,and some patients have both diseases;this feature is called AIH-PBC overlap syndrome.Autoimmune thyroid disease(AITD)is the most frequently overlapping extrahepatic autoimmune disease.Immunoglobulin(IgG)4-related disease is an autoimmune disease recognized in recent years,characterized by elevated serum IgG4 levels and infiltration of IgG4-positive plasma cells in tissues.CASE SUMMARY A 68-year-old female patient was admitted with a history of right upper quadrant pain,anorexia,and jaundice on physical examination.Laboratory examination revealed elevated liver enzymes,multiple positive autoantibodies associated with liver and thyroid disease,and imaging and biopsy suggestive of pancreatitis,hepatitis,and PBC.A diagnosis was made of a rare and complex overlap syndrome of AIH,PBC,AITD,and IgG4-related disease.Laboratory features improved on treatment with ursodeoxycholic acid,methylprednisolone,and azathioprine.CONCLUSION This case highlights the importance of screening patients with autoimmune diseases for related conditions.

Impact of continuous care on cardiac function in patients with lung cancer complicated by coronary heart disease

BACKGROUND Despite sharing similar pathogenic factors,cancer and coronary heart disease(CHD)occur in comparable populations at similar ages and possess similar susceptibility factors.Consequently,it is increasingly commonplace for patients to experience the simultaneous occurrence of cancer and CHD,a trend that is steadily rising.AIM To determine the impacts of continuing care on lung cancer patients with CHD following percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI).METHODS There were 94 lung cancer patients with CHD following PCI who were randomly assigned to the intervention group(n=38)and the control group(n=41).In the intervention group,continuing care was provided,while in the control group,routine care was provided.An evaluation of cardiac and pulmonary function,medication compliance,a 6-min walk test,and patient quality of life was performed.RESULTS Differences between the two groups were significant in left ventricular ejection fraction,6-min walk test,oxygen uptake,quality of life and medication compliance(P<0.05).In comparison with the control group,the enhancement in the intervention group was more significant.The intervention group had more patients with high medication compliance than the control group,with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).CONCLUSION After undergoing PCI,lung patients with CHD could benefit from continued care in terms of cardiac and pulmonary function,medications compliance,and quality of life.

Chiroptical switches based on circularly polarized luminescence(CPL)have shown the promising applications in advanced information technologies.Herein,a pair of lanthanide coordination polymer enantiomers[Eu_(2)(L^(R))_(3)(BTFPO)_(2)]_(n) and[Eu_(2)(L^(S))_(3)(BTFPO)_(2)]_(n) with light-regulated CPL property are designed,which are assembled by a chiral binuclear triple-stranded Eu^(3+) helicates[Eu_(2)(L^(R/S))_(3)]coordinated with two photochromic triphenylphosphine oxides(BTFPO).Upon the alternative UV and 526 nm light irradiation,the complexes show the reversible photochromism,PL and CPL responses.Notably,the luminescence dissymmetry factor,g lum of ^(5)D_(0)→^(7)F_(1)(591 nm)transition shows an obvious increase from 0.19 to 0.29 before and after 275 nm light irradiation.Additionally,the emission from Eu^(3+) center is not completely quenched in closed-ring state due to the low photocyclization(Ф_(o-c))quantum yield of the polymer.The partial maintenance of emissive intensity is of essential importance for the monitor of CPL signal.More importantly,the CPL photo-switching property of the complexes in solid hybrid film is maintained,and still displays the enhanced CPL emission in photostationary state.Further,the potential applications of the doping film in logic gate and anti-counterfeiting were investigated.

Mechanism of action of Balanophora involucrata polyphenolic compounds in the treatment of myocardial injury based on network pharmacology and molecular docking techniques

The objective of this work was to investigate the mechanism of action of Balanophora involucrata polyphenolic compounds in the treatment of myocardial injury.In the present study,Balanophora involucrata was extracted by reﬂuxing 75%of ethanol.The obtained extract was extracted with petroleum ether,ethyl acetate and n-butanol respectively.And the ethyl acetate layer was separated.The extract was prepared by silica gel column chromatography,sephadex LH-20 elution and thin layer chromatography.After that,the Swiss target prediction database was utilized to obtain the targets of Balanophora involucrata,and the Genecards,OMIM and TTD databases were used to predict and screen the targets of Balanophora involucrata for the treatment of myocardial injury.The active ingredient-target network was constructed using Cytoscape software,and the PPI network was mapped using String database and Cytoscape software.GO bioprocess enrichment analysis and KEGG pathway enrichment analysis were performed by Metascape software to predict the mechanism of action.Molecular docking was performed in Discovery Studio 2016 client software to verify the binding of Balanophora involucrata polyphenols to key targets.In this study,six polyphenolic compounds were isolated from Balanophora involucrata.By GO enrichment analysis,1614 biological processes(BP),127 cellular compositions(CC),and 215 molecular functions(MF)were obtained;a total of 155 cross-targets were involved in the KEGG enrichment analysis.The PPI network showed that quercetin was the main active component of polyphenolic compounds against myocardial injury and that AKT1,EGFR,STAT3,SRC,ESR1,MMP9,HSP90AA1 and other related signals were associated with myocardial injury treatment.Finally,the multi-component-multi-target-multi-pathway action of Balanophora involucrata was concluded,which provided new ideas and methods for further research on the mechanism of action of Balanophora involucrata in myocardial injury.

Pathogen-induced methylglyoxal negatively regulates rice bacterial blight resistance by inhibiting OsCDR1 protease activity

Xanthomonas oryzae pv.oryzae(Xoo)causes bacterial blight(BB),a globally devastating disease of rice(Oryza sativa)that is responsible for significant crop loss.Sugars and sugar metabolites are important for pathogen infection,providing energy and regulating events associated with defense responses;howev-er,the mechanisms by which they regulate such events in BB are unclear.As an inevitable sugar metabolite,methylglyoxal(MG)is involved in plant growth and responses to various abiotic stresses,but the underlying mechanisms remain enigmatic.Whether and how MG functions in plant biotic stress responses is almost completely unknown.Here,we report that the Xoo strain PXO99 induces OsWRKY62.1 to repress transcrip-tion of OsGLY Il genes by directly binding to their promoters,resulting in overaccumulation of MG.MG negatively regulates rice resistance against Pxo99:osglyll2 mutants with higher MG levels are more sus-ceptible to the pathogen,whereas OsGLYIl2-overexpressing plants with lower MG content show greater resistance than the wild type.Overexpression of OsGLYll2 to prevent excessive MG accumulation confers broad-spectrum resistance against the biotrophic bacterial pathogens Xoo and Xanthomonas oryzae pv.oryzicola and the necrotrophic fungal pathogen Rhizoctonia solani,which causes rice sheath blight.Further evidence shows that MG reduces rice resistance against PXO99 through CONSTITUTIVE DISEASE RESISTANCE 1(OsCDR1).MGmodifies the Arg97 residue of OsCDR1to inhibit its aspartic protease activ-ity,which is essential for OsCDR1-enhanced immunity.Taken together,these findings illustrate how Xoo promotes infection by hijacking a sugar metabolite in the host plant.

Carbon material is an important additive in energetic materials.Graphene is a monolayer carbon material in which carbon atoms are arranged in two-dimensional honeycomb structure,who has special optical,electrical,and mechanical properties.Recently,the application of graphene-based composites in energetic materials has received extensive attention.This review mainly summarizes the applications of graphene and graphene-based nanomaterials in energetic materials.The effects of these materials on the thermal stability,sensitivity,mechanical property,ignition and combustion of energetic materials were discussed.Furthermore,the progress of functionalized modification of graphene has been summarized,including covalent bonding modification and doping modification.These studies show that graphenebased materials exhibit excellent performances and might emerge as promising candidate for energetic materials.

Proteomic study of vitreous in proliferative diabetic retinopathy patients after treatment with aflibercept:a quantitative analysis based on 4D label-free technique

AIM:To identify different metabolites,proteins and related pathways to elucidate the causes of proliferative diabetic retinopathy(PDR)and resistance to anti-vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)drugs,and to provide biomarkers for the diagnosis and treatment of PDR.METHODS:Vitreous specimens from patients with diabetic retinopathy were collected and analyzed by Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry(LC-MS/MS)analyses based on 4D label-free technology.Statistically differentially expressed proteins(DEPs),Gene Ontology(GO),Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG)pathway representation and protein interactions were analyzed.RESULTS:A total of 12 samples were analyzed.The proteomics results showed that a total of 58 proteins were identified as DEPs,of which 47 proteins were up-regulated and 11 proteins were down-regulated.We found that C1q and tumor necrosis factor related protein 5(C1QTNF5),Clusterin(CLU),tissue inhibitor of metal protease 1(TIMP1)and signal regulatory protein alpha(SIRPα)can all be specifically regulated after aflibercept treatment.GO functional analysis showed that some DEPs are related to changes in inflammatory regulatory pathways caused by PDR.In addition,protein-protein interaction(PPI)network evaluation revealed that TIMP1 plays a central role in neural regulation.In addition,CD47/SIRPαmay become a key target to resolve anti-VEGF drug resistance in PDR.CONCLUSION:Proteomic analysis is an approach of choice to explore the molecular mechanisms of PDR.Our data show that multiple proteins are differentially changed in PDR patients after intravitreal injection of aflibercept,among which C1QTNF5,CLU,TIMP1 and SIRPαmay become targets for future treatment of PDR and resolution of anti-VEGF resistance.

RING finger 187(RNF187),a ubiquitin-ligating(E3)enzyme,plays a crucial role in the proliferation of cancer cells.However,it remains unclear whether RNF187 exhibits comparable functionality in the development of germline cells.To investigate thepotential involvement of RNF187 in germ cell development,we conducted interference and overexpression assays using GC-2 cells,a mouse spermatocyte-derived cell line.Our findings reveal that the interaction between RNF187 and histone H3 increases theviability,proliferation,and migratory capacity of GC-2 cells.Moreover,we provide evidence demonstrating that RNF187 interactswith H3 and mediates the ubiquitination of H3 at lysine 57(K57)or lysine 80(K80),directly or indirectly resulting in increasedcellular transcription.This is a study to report the role of RNF187 in maintaining the development of GC-2 cells by mediatinghistone H3 ubiquitination,thus highlighting the involvement of the K57 and K80 residues of H3 in the epistatic regulation of genetranscription.These discoveries provide a new theoretical foundation for further comprehensive investigations into the functionof RNF187 in the reproductive system.

Strip flatness prediction of cold rolling based on ensemble methods

Aiming at the problem of insufficient prediction accuracy of strip flatness at the outlet of cold tandem rolling,the prediction performance of strip flatness based on different ensemble methods was studied and a high-precision prediction ensemble model of strip flatness at the outlet was established.Firstly,based on linear regression(LR),K nearest neighbors(KNN),support vector regression,regression trees(RT),and backpropagation neural network(BPN),bagging,boosting,and stacking ensemble methods were used for ensemble experiments.Secondly,three existing ensemble models,i.e.,random forest,extreme random tree(ET)and extreme gradient boosting,were used to conduct experiments and compare the results.The research shows that bagging,boosting,and stacking three ensemble methods have the most significant improvement in the prediction accuracy of the regression trees model,which is increased by 5.28%,6.51%,and 5.32%,respectively.At the same time,the stacking ensemble method improves both the simple model and the complex model,and the improvement effect on the simple base model is the greatest,which is 4.69%higher than that of the base model KNN.Comparing all of the ensemble models,the stacking ensemble model of level-1(ET,AdaBoost-RT,LR,BPN)paired with level-2(LR)was discovered to be the best model(EALB-LR)and can be further studied for industrial applications.
