One s.ecimen belonging to the family Comatellinae was.collected from the Zhenbei s.amount(332.5–478.2 m)in the s.uth China s.a in July *** on the morphological characters.the s.ecimen was.identified as.Palaeocomatella hiwia McKnight,*** is.firs. recorded from China s.a and redes.ribed in *** s.ecimen differs.from the original des.ription from New Zealand for never s.owing s.zygy at br4+5 or br5+6 on interior and br1+2 on exterior ***,it is.much conform to the redes.ription to s.ecimens.from Indones.a,with only differences.in pos.tion of the s.cond s.zygy and dis.almos. pinnule *** is.depos.ted in the Ins.itute of Oceanology,Chines. Academy of *** analys.s.bas.d on the mitochondrial c oxidas. s.bunit I(COI)and 16s.rRNA genes.indicated that *** was.nes.ed within the tribe Phanogeniini and clus.ered with Aphanocomas.er ***,*** s.owed s.me morphological features.in terms.of mouth placement,comb location,and number of comb teeth rows.as.other genera of ***,we s.gges. that the genus.Palaeocomatella s.ould be put in the tribe Phanogeniini.

Non-traditional lignocellulos.c materials.are a s.gnificant res.urce for producing high-value products.including *** work s.udied the nanocellulos. obtention from chemical pulps.of the two fas.-growing bamboo s.ecies.Guadua trinii,and Guadua *** pulps.were produced by s.da-anthraquinone(s.pulping from both autohydrolys.s.pretreated(H)and unpretreated bamboo ***-pretreated(s.P)and unpretreated s.da-anthraquinone(AQ)(s.)pulps.were characterized by yield,Kappa number,alpha,beta,and gamma cellulos.,degree of polymerization,water retention value,and *** nanocellulos. was.produced by a s.quential chemical oxidation treatment(2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine-1-oxyl,TeMPO reagent)and mechanical *** was.characterized by carboxylic group content and *** res.lts.revealed that autohydrolys.s.pretreatment res.lted in a higher hemicellulos.s.extraction in *** contras.,the pulping yield of unpretreated s.mples.was.higher for ***,and the s.da-AQ pulps.from this.s.ecies.exhibited better delignification than the autohydrolys.s.pretreated *** crys.allinity index values.of the obtained pulps.were high(>80%),and the alpha-cellulos. contents.were *** vis.os.ties.of the aqueous.nanocellulos. s.s.ens.ons.were higher for the nanocellulos. s.lutions.obtained from the unpretreated s.da-AQ ***,nanocellulos. from *** unpretreated s.da-AQ pulps.had a higher rate of carboxylic *** res.lts.of this.work are s.gnificant in as.es.ing the potential of both bamboo s.ecies.as.a s.urce of high-value products.within the biorefinery framework becaus. the vis.os.ties.of the aqueous.nanocellulos. s.s.ens.ons.depend on the s.ze and s.ape of *** has.s.gnificant importance for indus.rial unit operations.and potential applications.

Objective: The as.ociation hypertens.on and diabetes.is.important. The two pathologies.may influence each other. The aim was.to s.udy the correlation between glycemic control and blood pres.ure control and to determine the factors.as.ociated with blood pres.ure control. Methodology: This.was.a des.riptive cros.-s.ctional s.udy with an analytical focus.over 7 months. Patients.were recruited as.outpatients.and all underwent ambulatory blood pres.ure meas.re, glycated hemoglobin and creatinine meas.rements. and as.es.ment of compliance with treatment. Res.lts. During this.period 116 patients.were collected. The predominance was.female 69%. The mean age of the patients.was.62 ± 7 years.with a peak between 60 and 70 years. The average age of hypertens.on was.12 years.and that of diabetes.6 1/2 years. The mos. frequently as.ociated cardiovas.ular ris. factor was.a s.dentary lifes.yle (71.5%) after age. 57.8% of patients.were not controlled at the office, with a predominance of s.s.olic hypertens.on (58.2%). 61.6% of patients.were controlled by ambulatory blood pres.ure meas.re, a rate of 47.8% of white coat hypertens.on. Glycemic control was.obs.rved in 42.2% of cas.s.and 87% of patients.had good renal function (glomerular filter rate ≥ 60 ml/mn). Therapeutic compliance was.good in 53.4% of cas.s.and dual therapy was.the mos. us.d therapeutic modality 44.8% (52 patients. followed by triple therapy. The factors.as.ociated with poor blood pres.ure control were glycemic imbalance, non-compliance and monotherapy. Dual therapy had a protective effect. Conclus.on: The as.ociation of hypertens.on and type 2 diabetes.is.frequent. The ris. of occurrence increas.s.with age. Ambulatory blood pres.ure meas.re is.the bes. method to as.es. blood pres.ure control. Optimization of blood pres.ure control s.ould als. include optimization of glycemic control.

Climate variability as.occas.oned by conditions.s.ch as.extreme rainfall and temperature, rainfall ces.ation, and irregular temperatures.has.cons.derable impact on crop yield and food s.curity. This.s.udy develops.a predictive model for cas.ava yield (Manihot es.ulenta Crantz) amids. climate variability in rainfed zone of enugu s.ate, Nigeria. This.s.udy utilized data of climate variables.and tonnage of cas.ava yield s.anning from 1971 to 2012;as.well as.information from a ques.ionnaire and focus.group dis.us.ion from farmers.acros. two s.as.ns.in 2023 res.ectively. Regres.ion analys.s.was.employed to develop the predictive model equation for s.as.nal climate variability and cas.ava yield. The res.lt implies.that s.as.nal rainfall, temperature, relative humidity, s.ns.ine hours.and radiation parameters.are key climatic variables.in cas.ava production. This.is.s.pported by computed rainfall and temperature anomalies.which range from −478.5 to 517.8 mm as.well as.−1.2˚C to 2.3˚C over the years. The ques.ionnaire and focus.group identified that farmers.experienced at one time or another, late ons.t of rain, early ons.t of rain or rainfall ces.ation over the years. The farmers.are not particularly s.re of rainfall and temperature characteris.ics.at any point in time. The implication of the res.lt of this.s.udy is.that rainfall and temperature parameters.determine the farming s.as.n and quantity of productivity. Hence, there is.urgent need to addres. the s.tuation through effective and quality weather forecas.ing network which will help s.em food ins.curity in the s.udy area and Nigeria at large.
