The induction generator effect(IGE)and the openloop modal proximity(OLMP)are two different reas.ns.why s.bs.nchronous.os.illations.s.Os.in a s.ries.compens.ted power s.s.em(s.Ps.may *** IGE attributes.the growing s.Os.to negative res.s.ance,while the OLMP explains.the s.O mechanis. from the s.andpoint of modal *** this.paper,we inves.igate the connections.between the IGE and the OLMP through equivalent RLC circuit and open-loop modal *** inves.igation is.conducted for two types.of s.ries.ompens.ted power s.s.ems.where either a s.nchronous.generator or a DFIG is.connected at the s.nding *** inves.igation reveals.the conditions.in which the IGE and the OLMP may jointly caus. the growing s.Os.i.e.,both the IGE and the OLMP can explain why the growing s.Os.***,the inves.igation indicates.that the IGE and the OLMP may be totally irrelevant and lead to growing s.Os.*** implies.that it is.pos.ible that in a s.Ps.the growing s.Os.are only due to the IGE,and the OLMP is.non-exis.ent,and vice ***,when the growing s.Os.occurs.in a s.Ps.examination bas.d on both the IGE and the OLMP s.ould be carefully conducted in order to find if the os.illatory ins.ability is.due to the IGE,or the OLMP,or both of them.
