Although the prognosis of early gastric cancer (EGC) is considered to be satisfactory, some patients experience tumor relapse after curative surgery. Both pathogenesis and risk factors of recurrence remain unclear. We describe a case report of a 49-year-old male who underwent subtotal gastric resection D2A for angular gastric cancer. Histological examination revealed gastric adenocarcinoma with low grade of differentiation and colloid areas, intramucosal, and absence of neoplastic proliferation in the surgical margins, in omental stroma and in the six examined lymph nodes (pT1, pN0). 11 years later, the same patient underwent D2 total gastrectomy for gastric cancer in the remnant stomach. New histological examination revealed again gastric adenocarcinoma, intramucosal, medium degree of differentiation, no documentable neoplastic proliferation within the limits of surgical resection, in the thirty-three examined lymph nodes and in the omentum (pT1, pN0).

Background:Determination of infection rates of snail populations is one of the basic tools for epidemiological studies of snail borne *** this study,we opted to determine the trematode infection of freshwater snails in the Omo-Gibe River Basin,southwest ***:We collected snail samples from 130 observation sites in lakes,wetlands,rivers,reservoirs and irrigation canals surveyed during the dry season(March to May)in *** snail samples were examined for trematode infections by cercarial shedding immediately after *** conditions,water quality,human water contact practices and other human activities were assessed at each survey site.A redundancy analysis(RDA)was used to examine the relationship between cercarial infection and environmental *** statistical significance of eigenvalues and cercariae-environment correlations generated by the RDA were tested using Monte Carlo permutations at 499 ***:A total of 3107 snails belonging to five species were *** most abundant species was Biomphalario pfeifferi,representing 66%of the total ***,109(3.6%)of the snails were found infected with trematodes(cercariae).Biompholario pfeifferi was found to be the most highly infected,accounting 85%of all infected snails.A total of eight morphologically different types of cercariae were recorded,which included:Echinostoma cercariae,brevifurcate apharyngeate distome cercariae,amphistome cercariae,brevifurcate apharyngeate monostome cercariae,xiphidiocercariae,longifurcate pharyngeate distome cercariae,strigea cercariae and unidentified *** apharyngeate distome cercariae,and Echinostoma cercariae were the most abundant cercariae,accounting for 36 and 34%of all infection,*** mean concentration of water conductivity and 5 days biological oxygen demand were higher in irrigation canals and lake sampling *** activities such as open field defecation,urination,livestock g

Introduction: The practice of auto-medication is on the rise in most sub-Saharan countries. The effects of these may be associated with increased drug resistance in the future, complication of the course of a disease, adverse drug interactions etc. Auto-medication is of course a global public health concern, which requires appropriate attention to evade future undesirable effects. Aim: The aim of this study was to investigate the knowledge, prevalence and associated determinants of auto-medication in the Limbe municipality. Method: This was a community-based cross-sectional study, conducted among 284 enrolled participants in Limbe Health District between January to August 2021. A structured questionnaire-based interview was used to collect data from each study subject. Then, data were categorised and analysed using SPSS version 20 software. Results: Majority of 213 (75%) of the participants practised auto-medication. The most frequently reported auto-medication symptoms were fever and headache 202 (71.1%). 95 (15.6%) practised auto-medication because they believed it saved time, meanwhile 5 (0.8%) had the belief that health personnel are too busy in the hospital with lots of patients to serve. Concerning knowledge, 68.9%, 13.1% and 18.2% had grading as Good, Poor and uncertain respectively. 58.3% of participants had a positive attitude towards auto-medication while 12.7% were indifferent. Factors associated with the use of auto-medication included: Age (p Conclusion: The prevalence of auto-medication remains increasingly high;there is a need for community sensitization to avert the negatives of such practices. The knowledge on auto-medication is fairly above average.

目的:探讨使用经阴道四维子宫输卵管超声造影(TVS 4D-HyCoSy)评估输卵管通畅性效果。方法:回顾性收集2018年3月—2019年2月本院就诊的不孕不育女性患者45例临床资料,患者均行TVS 4D-HyCoSy检查,收集患者检查结果、不良反应和随访1年妊娠情况。结果:TVS 4D-HyCoSy检查,45例中有24例见双侧输卵管堵塞,14例单侧输卵管阻塞,7例输卵管通畅,阻塞率为84.4%。30例(66.7%)有轻微腹痛,12例(26.7%)有轻微恶心,4例(8.9%)呕吐。随访1年显示,有5例自然妊娠,其中3例为阴道四维子宫输卵管检查通畅,1例为单侧阻塞、1例为双侧阻塞。结论:TVS 4D-HyCoSy评估诊断输卵管畅通性效果较好,方法简便经济,无创,副作用小,患者接受度高。
