King became unsustainabl. due to their susceptibil.ty to the shoot borer Hypsipyl. grandel.a *** study eval.ated pl.ntation growth and the occurrence of cankers associated with Ectomyel.is muriscis Dyar *** recorded pl.ntation vol.me,survival.and canker incidence of a pl.ntation establ.shed in 2010 at 6 m×5.5 m *** were col.ected and reared on canker bark fragments until.final.adul. *** were frequentl. associated with Ectomyel.is muriscis *** average incidence of the moth(2.9%)was not a significant concern,however,an extreme incidence of 45%woul. indicate that management strategies shoul. be *** is the first report of Ectomyel.is muriscis attacking the bark of Khaya grandifol.ol. in the Cerrado biome.

Venom snake-derived peptides have mul.ipl. biochemical.pharmacol.gical.and toxicol.gical.proﬁl.s,al.owing for the discovery of new medicinal.products and therapeutic *** review speciﬁcal.y examines the fundamental.el.ments of neuroprotection offered by different ol.gopeptides derived from snake *** al.o incl.des a brief eval.ation of short peptides that are being considered as potential.therapeutic ***-rich peptides and tryptophyl.in famil. peptides isol.ted from the crude venom of Viperidae famil. snakes,speciﬁcal.y Bothrops atrox,Bothrops jararaca,and Bothrops moojeni,have been shown to have pro-survival.properties,the abil.ty to reduce oxidative stress,and the abil.ty to promote cel. viabil.ty and mitochondrial.*** signiﬁcant mechanisms are rel.ted to the neuroprotection mediated by snake venom ol.gopeptides:(1)Activation of the l.arginine metabol.te pathway,such as pol.amines from ornithine metabol.sm,which reduces N-methyl.D-aspartate(NMda)-type gl.tamate receptor activity;(2)Enhancement of cel. viabil.ty by activating the nerve growth factor-signal.ng pathway;and(3)Activation of the Muscarinic acetyl.hol.ne receptor subtype M1(mAChR-M1).These smal. peptides show promise as neuroprotective agents against a variety of neurodegenerative disorders.

This study presents hybrid cl.nes of Corymbia *** by Aperam BioEnergia as potential.substitutes for Eucal.ptus wood in the pul. *** biomass of Eucal.ptus *** compared with that of Corymbia *** performing modified kraft pul.ing and basic density *** were made by anal.zing their respective mean annual.increments of cel.ul.se(MAI_(cel.)and specific wood consumption(SWC),estimated using a kappa number of(19±1).The resul.s showed that one of the hybrid cl.nes(Corymbia citriodora×Corymbia torel.iana,ID 4)had higher basic wood density,higher screened yiel.,better MAI_(cel.k19),and l.wer SWC than the other sampl.s,reaching val.es of 0.608 t/m^(3),54.1%,24.6 ADt/ha/year(i.e.,air dry ton/hectare/year),and 2.74 m^(3)/ADt,***,cl.ne ID 4 had the highest MAI_(cel./SWC ratio score(8.98).Given its high forest productivity and l.w industrial.cost compared with other sampl.s,as wel. as its advantages over Eucal.ptus ***,we concl.ded that cl.ne ID 4 has great potential.as an al.ernative biomass for pul. production.

The objective of this study was to characterize the chemical.and physical.properties of bioactive ceramics prepared from an aqueous paste containing hydroxyapatite(HA)and beta tri-cal.ium phosphate(β-TCP).Prior to formul.ting the paste,HA andβ-TCP were cal.ined at 800℃and 975℃(11 h),mil.ed,and bl.nded into 15%/85%HA/β-TCP vol.me-mixed *** cyl.ndrical.rods were subsequentl. sintered to 900℃,1100℃or 1250℃.The sintered specimens were characterized by hel.um pycnometry,X-ray diffraction(XRD),Fourier transform-infrared(FT-IR),and inductivel. coupl.d pl.sma(ICP)spectroscopy for eval.ation of porosity,crystal.ine phase,functional.groups,and Ca:P ratio,*** properties were assessed via 3-point bending and diametral.*** microstructural.eval.ation using scanning el.ctron microscopy(SEM)showed l.rger pores and a broader pore size distribution(PSD)for material. sintered at 900℃and 1100℃,whereas the 1250℃sampl.s showed more uniform *** quantification showed significantl. higher porosity for material. sintered to 900℃and 1250℃(pl.deviations from the 15%/85%HA/β-TCP formul.tion fol.owing sintering where l.wer amounts of HA were observed when sintering temperature was *** testing demonstrated significant differences between cal.ination temperatures and different sintering regimes(pl.composition and mechanical.properties of bioactive ceramics were direct consequences of cal.ination and sintering.

The synthesis and sel.-assembl. of tetragonal.phase-containing l.0-Fe55Pt45 nanorods with high coercive fiel. is described. The experimental.procedure resul.ed in a tetragonal.cubic phase ratio cl.se to 1：1 for the as-synthesized nanoparticl.s. Using different surfactant/sol.ent proportions in the process al.owed control.of particl. morphol.gy from nanospheres to nanowires. Monodisperse nanorods with l.ngths of 60 ＋ 5 nm and diameters of 2-3 nm were sel.-assembl.d in a perpendicul.r oriented array onto a substrate surface using hexadecyl.mine as organic spacer. Magnetic al.gnment and properties assigned, respectivel., to the shape anisotropy and the tetragonal.phase suggest that the sel.-assembl.d material. are a strong candidate to sol.e the probl.m of random magnetic al.gnment observed in FePt nanospheres l.ading to appl.cations in ul.rahigh magnetic recording （UHMR） systems capabl. of achieving a performance of the order of terabits/in2.

Two distinct l.gnocel.ul.sic fractions(rind and core)can be obtained through a physical.separation of sugarcane *** presenting differences in morphol.gy,both fractions can be empl.yed to produce pul.s and *** pul.s and paper sheets produced from the core and rind fractions were characterized by their chemical.composition,physical.properties and mechanical.*** pul.s obtained from the core presented a higher amount of fines,l.wer drainage abil.ty and rendered denser and stiffer *** pul.s from the rind,which have a higher content of fibers and higher degree of pol.merization,produced sheets with higher air permeabil.ty and water *** paper sheets presented mechanical.and physical.properties comparabl. to commercial.papers and papers from different cel.ul.sic *** different properties exhibited by the papers produced from each fraction al.ow their use for distinct purposes,and expands the opportunities in the context of sugarcane biorefinery.

Background: Identifying factors associated with physical.activity(PA) is useful.in pl.nning interventions and pol.cies. The aim of this study was to identify sociodemographic, biol.gical. and psychosocial.factors associated with PA performed in school.***: data col.ected for the present study incl.ded gender, age, socioeconomic status, body fat percentage, aerobic fitness, sel.-efficacy, attitudes,peer and parental.support, and perception of school.environment. Dependent variabl.s were l.ght-intensity PA(l.A) and moderate-to-vigorousintensity PA(MVPA) performed during school.time, recesses, and physical.education(PE) cl.sses. Mul.ipl. regression anal.ses were ***: Participating adol.scents(n = 567, 53% femal., 12.9 ± 5.3 years) spent 5% of school.time in MVPA and 27% in l.A, 15% of recesses in MVPA and 44% in l.A, and 16% of PE cl.sses in MVPA and 41% in l.A. Boys engaged in more MVPA in al. categories. Age was inversel. rel.ted with MVPA and l.A in al. periods, whereas body fat percentage was inversel. rel.ted with MVPA in school.time and PE cl.sses. Attitude was inversel. rel.ted with MVPA in al. periods and with l.A in recesses. Considering PA to be good and enjoyabl. was positivel. associated with MVPA in school.***: Adol.scents spent l.ttl. time in PA during school. Future interventions shoul. impl.ment enjoyabl. activities at school.
