The plant apoplast,which serves as the frontline battleground for long-term host–pathogen interactions,harbors a wealth of disease resistance resources.However,the identification of the disease resistance proteins in the apoplast is relatively lacking.In this study,we identified and characterized the rice secretory protein OsSSP1(Oryza sativa secretory small protein 1).OsSSP1 can be secreted into the plant apoplast,and either in vitro treatment of recombinant OsSSP1 or overexpression of OsSSP1 in rice could trigger plant immune response.The expression of OsSSP1 is suppressed significantly during Magnaporthe oryzae infection in the susceptible rice variety Taibei 309,and OsSSP1-overexpressing lines all show strong resistance to M.oryzae.Combining the knockout and overexpression results,we found that OsSSP1 positively regulates plant immunity in response to fungal infection.Moreover,the recognition and immune response triggered by OsSSP1 depend on an uncharacterized transmembrane OsSSR1(secretory small protein receptor 1)and the key co-receptor OsBAK1,since most of the induced immune response and resistance are lost in the absence of OsSSR1 or OsBAK1.Intriguingly,the OsSSP1 protein is relatively stable and can still induce plant resistance after 1 week of storage in the open environment,and exogenous OsSSP1 treatment for a 2-week period did not affect rice yield.Collectively,our study reveals that OsSSP1 can be secreted into the apoplast and percepted by OsSSR1 and OsBAK1 during fungal infection,thereby triggering the immune response to enhance plant resistance to M.oryzae.These findings provide novel resources and potential strategies for crop breeding and disease control.

Numerical analysis of detaching and wrinkling of mechanically lined pipe during its spooling-on stage to the reel

The structural behavior of mechanically lined pipes （MLPs） during the spooling-on phase is investigated in this paper, motivated by their promising offshore applications relying on reel installation. By applying quasi 2D models, we first investigated the gripping stresses preserved in the MLP after the hydraulic expansion manufacturing process and the detachment of the liner under spooling-on curvatures. Furthermore, a comparative 3D finite element （FE） analysis for the liner wrinkling behaviors of MLP with different wall thicknesses of outer layers was performed and indicated that when the wall thickness of outer layer increases from 14.3 mm to 17.9 mm, MLP＇s critical spooling-on curvature increased more than 47%, reachin0.1432 rdd/m.

In-service shear check of heated cased insulated flowlines

Starting friction would be induced and preserved somewhere along the seabed route of cased insulated flowlines（CIF） when the pipe carries service loads.The axial pipe-soil interaction can be divided into three pipe sections：the sliding section,the fixed section and the starting friction section.Although limited to a relatively small length of the pipe,the pipe coats of the starting friction section would suffer much higher shear force caused by thermal expansion than those of the sliding section or the fixed section.Based on the axial equilibrium equation of this kind of insulated pipeline,we developed a method for checking the shear force on CIF coats and their interfaces.The typical example shows that starting friction effect should be taken into account when checking the lap shear strength of heatshrinkable sleeves on CIF field joints.

Oxidation-extraction desulfurization of model oil over Zr-ZSM-5/SBA-15 and kinetic study

ZSM-5/SBA-15 composite molecular sieves were synthesized using post-synthesis method and characterized by X-ray diffraction and N2 adsorption-desorption. The oxidative-extration desulfurization of model oil was investigated by using hydrogen peroxide as the oxidant, tetrabutyl ammonium bromide as phase transfer catalyst, dimethyl sulfoxide as extractant, and Zr-ZSM-5/ SBA-15, Ag-ZSM-5/SBA-15, Ce-ZSM-5/SBA-15 as catalyst. Under the optimal conditions, the desulfurization rate decreases in the order： Zr-ZSM-5/SBA-15 〉 Ce-ZSM- 5/SBA-15 〉 Ag-ZSM-5/SBA-15. The highest desulfuriza- tion rate is 84.53% under the catalysis of Zr-ZSM-5/SBA- 15. Kinetics analysis shows that the reaction is pseudofirst-order with the activation energy of 44.23 kJ/mol.

Prevention of urinary tract infection using a silver alloy hydrogel-coated catheter in critically ill patients: A single-center prospective randomized controlled study

Background:A new type of silver alloy hydrogel-coated(SAH)catheter has been shown to prevent bacterial adhesion and colonization by generating a microcurrent,and to block the retrograde infection pathway.However,these have only been confirmed in ordinary patients.This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a SAH catheter for preventing urinary tract infections in critically ill patients.Methods:This was a prospective single-center,single-blind,randomized,controlled study.A total of 132 patients requiring indwelling catheterization in the intensive care unit(ICU)of the First Affiliated Hospital of the University of Science and Technology of China between October 2022 and February 2023 and who met the study inclusion/exclusion criteria were randomly divided into two groups.Patients in the SAH catheter group received a SAH catheter,while patients in the conventional catheter group received a conventional siliconized latex Foley catheter.The main outcome measure was the incidence of catheter-associated urinary tract infections(CAUTIs).Secondary outcome indicators included urine positivity for white blood cells and positive urine cultures on 3 days,7 days,10 days,and 14 days after catheterization,number of viable bacteria in the catheter biofilm on day 14,pathogenic characteristics of positive urine cultures,length of ICU stay,overall hospital stay,ICU mortality,and 28-day mortality.All the data were compared between the two groups.Results:A total of 68 patients in the conventional catheter group and 64 patients in the SAH catheter group were included in the study.On day 7 after catheter placement,the positivity rate for urinary white blood cells was significantly higher in the conventional catheter group than in the SAH catheter group(33.8%vs.15.6%,P=0.016).On day 10,the rates of positive urine cultures(27.9%vs.10.9%,P=0.014)and CAUTIs(22.1%vs.7.8%,P=0.023)were significantly higher in the conventional catheter group than in the SAH catheter group.On day 14,the numbers of viable bacteria isolated from the cathete

Lateral buckling of non-trenched high temperature pipelines with pipelay imperfections

An analysis method for the buckling process of a pipe section with a random pipelay imperfection is proposed. Four basic lateral modes, acquired by finite-element （FE） eigenvalue buckling analysis, are combined to provide the needed grid configurations for describing a real pipelay imperfection and an arc-length algorithm is used to analyze the snap-through process of the shell-element-grid model under nonlinear frictional boundary conditions. This paper also presents evaluation methods for the lateral buckling of two types of pipe-in-pipe systems that are used in the offshore oil and gas industry. For evaluating the buckling and postbuckling of compliant pipe-in-pipe systems FE analyses were carried out to judge the occurrence of the system buckling and furthermore to check postbuckling stresses induced in the buckles. The calculated results of the modified Riks algorithm indicate that only when high temperature would not trigger an abrupt short-wavelength buckle and when no yielding has been induced in the unavoidable long-wavelength buckles, the thermal stability and safety of compliant pipe-in-pipe systems can be proved. In the non-compliant pipe-in-pipe systems, firstly small-amplitude buckles of the carrier pipe may occur in the annulus between carrier pipe and casing pipe and the contact forces between the spacers and the casing pipe may drive the buckle of the pipe-in-pipe systems on the seabed. Based on the classical analytical solution of pipe buckling, four potential buckling modes corresponding to finite- element models are developed to evaluate the stability and the postbuckling strength of such pipe-in-pipe systems.

黄土具有多孔亚稳结构和水敏性,遇水时易发生崩解。黄土的崩解性是促进黄土高原地区水土流失、崩塌、滑坡等地质灾害发生的主要因素之一。作为一种造价低、应用方便的材料,水泥改良黄土(cement improved loess, CIL)在黄土地基、边坡工程中应用广泛,但其抗崩解性研究较少。为此,该文通过原状及不同掺量下的CIL室内崩解试验和扫描电子显微镜(scanning electron microscope, SEM)试验,分析改良前后黄土的崩解行为,探究水泥对黄土崩解性的改良效果及作用机制。结果表明,掺入水泥可大幅提升黄土的抗崩解能力,低掺量下CIL仍具有完整的崩解过程,但水泥能填充粒间孔隙,阻碍水分运移,同时水泥水化物及其与黄土颗粒的作用能增强粒间胶结,从而延缓了黄土崩解进程。随着水泥掺量的增加,抗崩解效果愈明显,累积崩解百分量几乎为0。土样不发生崩解的最小水泥掺量为3%。研究结果对黄土的抗侵蚀性研究和防灾工程设计具有重要意义。

根据凝析气相态特征,采用凝析气田的原始相态资料,研究了凝析气在相态转换过程中储层内气体中可凝缩液体的体积分数、质量分数与气藏压力的关系及具体计算方法,建立了凝析油-气在多孔介质中的渗流方程。在考虑到井筒内存在凝析油-气相态重分布的情况下,建立了凝析气在复杂气藏内油-气两相不稳态渗流问题的新模型,求出了3种典型气藏外边界条件下的凝析油-气两相拟压力分布解析解,并绘出了井底压降曲线,给出了应用实例。

为考察无需多输入多输出模分复用系统的高速信号传输能力,采用模式选择光子灯笼型模式复用/解复用器构建了2×100 Gb/s双偏振正交相移键控模分复用通信实验系统,系统中用到的少模偏振控制器状态可由LP_(01)和LP_(11b)两个模式信道的信串比参数准确表征。测试了系统误码率与信串比关系,实现两个信道纠后无误码传输的条件为信串比约大于8 dB。当两个信道的信串比分别为14.25 dB和13.81 dB时,与背对背收发系统相比,纠后无误码阈值(10^(-2))的接收光功率代价分别为1.40 dB和4.76 dB。分析了光纤衰减、偏振模色散和模式串扰对高速传输系统的影响,估算了串扰受限系统可支持的少模光纤传输距离约为30 km。

目的评估经鼻湿化快速充气交换通气(THRIVE)对创伤性颅脑损伤(TBI)急诊手术患者全麻诱导期局部脑氧饱和度(rScO_(2))的影响。方法采用前瞻性随机对照研究方法,选择2023年1月至7月在江苏省苏北人民医院接受颅内血肿清除术的TBI急诊全麻手术患者作为研究对象。采用随机数字表法将患者分为常规面罩通气组和THRIVE组。常规面罩通气组患者麻醉诱导前面罩无正压通气预充氧10 min,氧流量8 L/min,吸入氧浓度(FiO_(2))1.00,麻醉诱导约90 s,待患者下颌肌肉松弛后进行气管插管;THRIVE组患者使用THRIVE预充氧10 min,氧流量30 L/min,FiO_(2)1.00,麻醉诱导时将氧流量提升至50 L/min,麻醉诱导用药,双手托起患者下颌保持呼吸道通畅,整个过程保持患者口腔闭合,待患者下颌肌肉松弛后进行气管插管。分别于患者入手术室时、预充氧10 min、插管成功即刻监测术侧和非术侧rScO_(2),同时采用超声测量胃窦部横截面积(CSA),并进行动脉血气分析;记录气管插管成功后首次机械通气时呼气末二氧化碳分压(P_(ET)CO_(2))、气管插管期间低氧血症〔脉搏血氧饱和度(SpO_(2))0.05〕;但THRIVE组患者出院时预后良好(GOS评分>3分)比例明显高于常规面罩通气组〔35.5%(11/31)比12.5%(4/32),P<0.05〕。结论THRIVE可明显提升TBI急诊全麻手术患者麻醉诱导期间rScO_(2),并且改善患者神经功能预后。
