Phenol in waste water threatens human health and is difficultly to be decomposed by nature.Efficient degradation of high-loaded phenol in water under mild condition is still a great challenge.Herein,ionic liquids with tungstate anion were designed and prepared.It was found that dodecyltrimethylammonium tungstate could catalyzed degradation of phenol into gases and water thoroughly at 323 k in 8 h.Tungstate anion revealed good catalytic oxidative activity and long carbon chain group connecting with cation of ionic liquids enriched phenol around catalysts,which induced the complete degradation of phenol at mild conditions.Increasing the amounts of hydrogen peroxide benefited to the total degradation of phenol.In addition,the ionic liquid could be reused for its excellent thermal stability.Our work provided a different strategy to treat waste water containing phenol efficiently.

Highly efficient and greener hydrogenation of benzene to cyclohexene is of great importance but is challenging.In this work,Ru/Ti O2 catalyst was prepared by a simple chemical-reduction method.The catalyst was characterized by transmission electron spectroscopy(TEM),X-ray powder diffraction(XRD),Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),and nitrogen adsorption-desorption techniques.It was shown that the Ru nanoparticles with average size of about 2.2 nm were dispersed uniformly on the surface of the Ti O2 support.The effect of a very small amount of Zn O in Na OH solution on the selectivity to cyclohexene was investigated under different conditions by using Ru/Ti O2 catalyst.It was found that the addition of a small amount of Zn O to the Na OH solution could effectively enhance the selectivity to cyclohexene and that the yield of cyclohexene could reach 41.5%.Control experiments revealed that the main reason for the enhancement of the selectivity to cyclohexene was the presence of Zn O in the form of Na2Zn(OH)4 in the alkaline solution,which effectively retarded the further hydrogenation of cyclohexene.A recycling experiment showed that the yield of cyclohexene was not obviously decreased after four reuses.

In this paper, the dispersion and nucleation behavior of ultrafine particles of silica and layered silicate (LS) in poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) matrix are investigated and characterized by Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), Wide Angle X-ray Diffraction (WAXD), Dynamic Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), and Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM). The solid precursors based on silica and LS are suggested originally for preparing nanocomposites with good dispersion morphology. Results show that the initial sub-micron (1000~500 nm) LS particles are exfoliated or dispersed into nanometer-scale particles (30~70 nm) during their polymerization with PET monomers. These dispersed nanoparti-cles form an ordered morphology in their nucleation and growth during annealing nanocomposites. DSC patterns reveal that the double melting peaks of annealed PET-LS nanocomposites disappear, while they have shrunken in PET-silica ones. These findings strongly demonstrate that the dispersed nanoparticles accelerate the crystallization of PET. The dispersed LS particles have higher percolation and nucleation performance than those of silica. The homogeneous distribution morphology of ultrafine particles is easily obtained by controlling the load of their cor-responding precursors. Such a dispersion obviously improves PET properties in that its heat distortion temperature (HDT) increases from 76℃ to 103℃, and crystallization increases 2~4 times more than that of PET. Especially, the nanocom-posite films keep themselves transparent when particle load is within 2 wt.% though there are 3 wt.% or so of agglomer-ated particles in the nanocomposites.

珊瑚礁地质是我国南海岛屿周边海域的典型特征。我国南海的珊瑚礁地质特殊,存在无法深埋海底电缆的问题。在各类复杂环境因素的作用下,裸露的海底电缆极易受到破坏。文章围绕施工、渔业活动和海生物附着等各类复杂因素对海底电缆安全性能造成的破坏进行了风险评估,分析了破坏机制。同时,结合珊瑚礁地质下的海底电缆铺设和运维实际情况提出了多项海底电缆防护措施,将为海底电缆在我国南海典型珊瑚礁地质条件下的可靠运行提供更多支撑,保障系统运行安全。

Bimetallic Au/Pd catalyzed aerobic oxidation of alcohols in the poly(ethylene glycol)/CO_(2) system

Bimetallic Au/Pd nanoparticles were prepared and used to catalyze oxidation of alcohols in the poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG)/CO_(2) biphasic system using O2 as the oxidant without adding any base.The catalytic activity of Au/Pd bimetal with different mole ratios was studied using benzyl alcohol as the substrate.It was found that bimetallic Au/Pd nanoparticles with Au:Pd=1:3.5 had higher catalytic activity than monometallic Au,Pd and the bimetallic Au/Pd nanoparticles with other molar ratios.The effect of CO_(2) pressure on the oxidation of benzyl alcohol and 1-phenylethanol in PEG/CO_(2) was investigated.It was demonstrated that CO_(2) pressure could be used to tune the conversion and selectivity of the reactions effectively.α,β-Unsaturated alcohols were also studied and found to be more reactive than benzyl alcohol and 1-phenylethanol.Recycling experiments showed that the Au/Pd/PEG/CO_(2) catalytic system could be recycled at least four times without reducing the activity.In addition,the catalytic system is clean and the products can be separated easily.

The transcription factor early growth response protein 3 （EGR3） is involved in schizophrenia. We developed a putative rat model of schizophrenia by transfecting lentiviral particles carrying the Egr3 gene into bilateral hippocampal dentate gyrus. We assessed spatial working memory using the Morris water maze test, and neuronal metabolite levels in bilateral hippocampus and thalamus were determined by 3.0 T proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy. Choline content was significantly greater in the hippocampus after transfection, while N-acetylaspartate and the ratio of N-acetylaspartate to creatine/phosphocreatine in the thalamus were lower than in controls. This study is the first to report evaluation of brain metabolites using 3,0 T proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy in rats transfected with Egr3, and reveals metabolic abnormalities in the hippocampus and thalamus in this putative model of schizophrenia.

Anthropogenic Aerosol Pollution over the Eastern Slope of the Tibetan Plateau

In this study, a combination of satellite observations and reanalysis datasets is used to analyze the spatiotemporal distribution, classification and source of pollutants over the eastern slope of the Tibetan Plateau(ESTP). The aerosol optical depth(AOD) over the ESTP is extremely large and even larger than some important industrialized regions and deserts. The main aerosol component over the ESTP is sulfate, followed by carbonaceous and dust aerosols. Local emissions related to human activity directly contribute to the accumulation of sulfate and carbonaceous aerosols over the Sichuan Basin. In addition, in spring, abundant carbonaceous aerosols emitted from forest, grassland and savanna fires in Southeast Asia can be transported by the prevailing southwesterly wind to southern China and the ESTP. The dust AOD over the ESTP peaks in spring because of the transport from the Taklimakan and Gobi deserts. Additionally, the high aerosol loading over the ESTP is also directly related to the meteorological background. Due to the special topography, the terrain-driven circulation can trap aerosols in the Sichuan Basin and these aerosols can climb along the ESTP due to the perennial updraft. The aerosol loading is lowest in summer because of effective wet deposition induced by the strong precipitation and better dispersion conditions due to the larger vertical temperature gradients and ascending air movement enhanced by the plateau heat pump effect. In contrast,the aerosol loading is greatest in winter. Abundant anthropogenic aerosols over the ESTP may generate some climatic and environmental risks and consequently greatly influence the downstream regions.

为快捷高效地获得隧道轴线地应力,满足工程实际使用需求,构建一种基于地质统计克里金法的深埋长隧道初始地应力插值计算方法。首先,采用交叉验证迭代计算出各误差指标,在3种变异函数模型中选出最优函数模型用于地应力插值计算,获得隧道剖面的主应力量值及最大水平主应力方向;然后,考虑不同地层和断层的影响,对隧道洞轴线主应力结果进行修正,获得隧道洞轴线主应力量值及最大水平主应力方向。该方法以少量的地应力实测数据为基础,不受隧道勘察资料和工程线路方案调整等影响,可快捷高效地获得隧道轴线地应力量值及方向。通过工程应用表明:1)该方法的计算值与实测地应力值拟合精度较高,其中最大水平主应力拟合度约85%;2)通过插值计算获得了隧道洞轴线主应力量值及最大水平主应力方向,隧道最大水平主应力达52.50 MPa,隧道主应力方位以NW向为主,局部段为NE向。

Pegylated interferon-alpha (PegIFNα) therapy has limited effectiveness in hepatitis B e-antigen (HBeAg)-positive chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients. However, the mechanism underlying this failure is poorly understood. We aimed to investigate the influence of bile acids (BAs), especially taurocholic acid (TCA), on the response to PegIFNα therapy in CHB patients. Here, we used mass spectrometry to determine serum BA profiles in 110 patients with chronic HBV infection and 20 healthy controls (HCs). We found that serum BAs, especially TCA, were significantly elevated in HBeAg-positive CHB patients compared with those in HCs and patients in other phases of chronic HBV infection. Moreover, serum BAs, particularly TCA, inhibited the response to PegIFNα therapy in HBeAg-positive CHB patients. Mechanistically, the expression levels of IFN-γ, TNF-α, granzyme B, and perforin were measured using flow cytometry to assess the effector functions of immune cells in patients with low or high BA levels. We found that BAs reduced the number and proportion and impaired the effector functions of CD3^(+)CD8^(+) T cells and natural killer (NK) cells in HBeAg-positive CHB patients. TCA in particular reduced the frequency and impaired the effector functions of CD3^(+)CD8^(+) T and NK cells in vitro and in vivo and inhibited the immunoregulatory activity of IFN-α in vitro. Thus, our results show that BAs, especially TCA, inhibit the response to PegIFNα therapy by impairing the effector functions of CD3^(+)CD8^(+) T and NK cells in HBeAg-positive CHB patients. Our findings suggest that targeting TCA could be a promising approach for restoring IFN-α responsiveness during CHB treatment.

To enhance the nucleation and crystallization properties of polyester (e.g., polyethylene terephthalate, PET), core-shell structured particles are used to improve these properties by controlling the inorganic dispersion properties in the polymers. In the paper, monodisperse particles of silica/polystyrene (PS) are prepared with both dispersion and emulsion polymerization techniques. The monodisperse silicon dioxide particles are first prepared with the seed growth method and modified by the coupling agents. Silica is properly modified with KH-570, and its size deviation is 3.0% or so. The modified silica then reacts with the mixture of ethanol, water medium, and monomer of styrene under dispersion polymerization. Results show that the dispersion polymerization technique is more suitable for monodisperse core-shell SiO2/PS particles than that of the emulsion. The morphology and molecular structure of the core-shell particles are investigated with the transmission electron microscope (TEM), and fourier transform infra-red spectroscopy (FTIR). The results show that the modified silica particles are successfully encapsulated with polystyrene. The average number of silica particles encapsulated into each polystyrene sphere decreases when the size of silica particles increases from 50 nm to 600 nm, and will approach one when the silica is greater than 380nm in size. The mass ratio for silica/PS particles in emulsion polymerization is 4.7/1, lower than that of 6.8/1 for dispersion polymerization, which is the first reported optimized data for preparing the similar monodisperse composite particles. Thus, the PS shell in the former is thinner than that in the latter.
