Effects of magnetic fields on Fe–Si composite electrodeposition

Coatings containing Fe-Si particles were electrodeposited on 3.0wt% Si steel sheets under magnetic fields. The effects of magnetic flux density （MFD）, electrode arrangement and current density on the surface morphology, the silicon content in the coatings and the cathode current efficiency were investigated. When a magnetic field was applied parallel to the current and when the MFD was less than 0.5 T, numerous needle-like structures appeared on the coating surface. With increasing MFD, the needle-like structures weakened and were transformed into dome-shaped structures. Meanwhile, compared to results obtained in the absence of a magnetic field, the silicon content in the coatings significantly increased as the MFD was increased for all of the samples obtained using a vertical electrode system. However, in the case of an aclinic electrode system, the silicon content decreased. Furthermore, the cathode current efficiency was considerably diminished when a magnetic field was applied. A possible mechanism for these phenomena was discussed.

The voltage was recorded to investigate the influence of the static magnetic field on droplet evolution during the mag-netically controlled electroslag remelting （MC-ESR） process. MC-ESR experiments were carried out under differentremelting current, and transverse static magnetic fields （TSMF） of 85 mT, 130 mT and 160 mT were *** work was performed to obtain the quantitative data of the droplets. The ASPEX Explorer was utilized toinvestigate the inclusions evolution of GCr15 ingots. The number of the droplets was 31 in 20 s during the traditional ESRprocess and reached 50 and 51 under the MC-ESR process with the TSMF of 85 mT and 130 mT, respectively. Whencompared the traditional ESR process with the MC-ESR process, the inclusions amount reduced 67%.

Active reflectors are often used to compensate the surface distortion caused by environmental factors that degrade the electromagnetic performance of large high-frequency reflector *** is crucial for maintaining high gain operation in antennas.A distortion compensation method for the active reflector of a large dual-reflector antenna is proposed.A relationship is established between the surface deformation and the optical path difference for the primary reflector by geometric ***,employing finite element analysis,a polynomial fitting approach is used to describe the impact of adjusting points on the reflector surface based on the coordinates of each *** standardizing the positions of various panels on the reflector,the fitting ns can be applied to the reflector panels of similar ***,based on the distribution characteristics of the primary reflector panels,the adjustment equation for the actuators is derived by the influence matrix *** can be used to determine the adjustment amount of actuators to reduce the rms of the optical path ***,the least squares method is employed to resolve the matrix *** example of a 110 m aperture dual-reflector antenna is carried out by finite element analysis and the proposed *** results show that the optical path difference is reduced significantly at various elevation cases,which indicates that the proposed method is effective.

Large field-of-view（FoV） three-dimensional（3 D） photon-counting imaging is demonstrated with a single-pixel single-photon detector based on a Geiger-mode Si-avalanche photodiode. By removing the collecting lens（CL）before the detector, the FoV is expanded to ±10°. Thanks to the high detection efficiency, the signal-to-noise ratio of the imaging system is as high as 7.8 dB even without the CL when the average output laser pulse energy is about 0.45 pJ/pulse for imaging the targets at a distance of 5 m. A 3 D image overlaid with the reflectivity data is obtained according to the photon-counting time-of-flight measurement and the return photon intensity.

We present the results of using a photon-eounting full-waveform lidar to obtain detailed target information with high *** parameters of the waveforms(i.e.,vertical structure,peak position,peak amplitude,peak width and backscatter cross section)are derived with a high resolution limit of 31 mm to establish the vertical structure and scattering properties of targets,which contribute to the recognition and classification of various *** photon-counting full-waveform lidar has higher resolution than linear-mode full-waveform lidar,and it can obtain more specific target information compared to photon-counting discrete-point lidar,which can provide a potential alternative technique for tomographic surveying and mapping.

Developing organic room-temperature phosphorescence(RTP)materials with a wide range of tunable-emission is significant in expanding the applications of RTP ***,we rationally designed amphiphilic alternating copolymers poly(1,2-bis(4-alkoxyphenyl)ethane-1,2-dione-alt-(ethylene glycol)x)(P(Bz-alt-EGx))that combined the advantage of alternating benzil and EGxskeleton,and tunable mainchain *** a mainchain conformation ordering assembly(COA)process,P(Bz-alt-EGx)self-assembled into well-defined platelets,and such assemblies emitted blue RTP at ca.425 nm due to the ordered folded-chain conformation and confined *** contrast,traditional self-assembly(TA)of P(Bz-alt-EGx)obtained less ordered aggregates,such as asymmetric worms,vesicles,and rod-like *** resultant less ordered aggregates exhibited yellow-green RTP at ca.550 *** wide-tuning RTP emission in solution(between blue and yellow-green,over125 nm)is realized using the P(Bz-alt-EG_(x))alternating copolymers under the treatment of different self-assembly *** study uncovers a new strategy to tailor the RTP emission through different self-assembly pathways and holds great promise for the fabrication of advanced optical materials.

It is of great significance to find safe and effective radiosensitizers. A primary investigation has been made on fisetin's modification of radiation effect, but its radiosensitization and related mechanisms still need to be deeply clarified. Furthermore, fisetin with high hydrophobicity is difficult to dissolve in water,severely limiting its research and application. In this study, we fabricated a safe and soluble radiosensitizer fisetin micelle for precisely enhancing radiotherapy by inhibiting platelet-derived growth factor receptor-β(PDGFRβ)/signal transducer and activator of transcription 1(STAT1)/signal transducer and activator of transcription 3(STAT3)/B cell lymphoma 2(Bcl-2) signaling pathway in the tumor. Systematic and detailed studies were performed to verify its radiosensitization effect in vitro and in vivo. On the cellular level, fisetin micelles selectively increased the radiosensitivity of tumor cells(CT26 and 4T1 cells)and had little effect on the sensitivity of normal mouse cells(L929 cells) to radiation. In the mouse models of colon and breast cancers, fisetin micelles showed an efficient radiosensitization capacity without apparent toxicity. Additionally, we first found that fisetin micelles played a radiotherapy sensitization role by inhibiting the PDGFRβ/STAT1/STAT3/Bcl-2 pathway activity. In general, this work not only confirmed that fisetin micelles precisely exhibit a radiosensitization effect in vitro and in vivo, but also profoundly explored its mechanisms underlying, to provide a theoretical and experimental basis for the clinical application of fisetin micelles.
