A combination of straw incorporation and polymer-coated urea offsets soil ammonia and nitrous oxide emissions in winter wheat fields

The combined effects of straw incorporation(SI)and polymer-coated urea(PCU)application on soil ammonia(NH_(3))and nitrous oxide(N_(2)O)emissions from agricultural fields have not been comprehensively evaluated in Northwest *** conducted a two-year field experiment to assess the effects of combining SI with either uncoated urea(U)or PCU on soil NH_(3)emissions,N_(2)O emissions,winter wheat yields,yield-scaled NH_(3)(/NH_(3)),and yield-scaled N_(2)O(/N_(2)O).Five treatments were investigated,no nitrogen(N)fertilizer(N_(0)),U application at 150 kg N ha-1 with and without SI(SI+U and S_(0)+U),and PCU application at 150 kg N ha^(-1) with and without SI(SI+PCU and S_(0)+PCU).The results showed that the NH_(3);emissions increased by 20.98-34.35%following Sl compared to straw removal,mainly due to increases in soil ammonium(NH_(4)^(+)-N)content and water-flled pore space(WFPS).SI resulted in higher N_(2)O emissions than under the So scenario by 13.31-49.23%due to increases in soil inorganic N(SIN)contents,WFPS,and soil microbial *** contrast,the PCU application reduced the SIN contents compared to the U application,reducing the NH_(3)and N_(2)O emissions by 45.99-58.07 and 18.08-53.04%,***,no significant positive effects of the SI or PCU applications on the winter wheat yield were *** lowest /NH_(3) and /N_(2)O values were observed under the S_(0)+PCU and SI+PCU *** results suggest that single PCU applications and their combination with straw are the optimal agricultural strategies for mitigating gaseous N emissions and maintaining optimal winter wheat yields in Northwest China.

A Comprehensive Study of a Low-Grade Heat-Driven Cooling and Power System Based on Heat Current Method

Combined cooling and power(CCP)system driven by low-grade heat is promising for improving energy *** work proposes a CCP system that integrates a regenerative organic Rankine cycle(RORC)and an absorption chiller on both driving and cooling fluid *** system is modeled by using the heat current method to fully consider nonlinear heat transfer and heat-work conversion constraints and resolve its behavior *** off-design system simulation is performed next,showing that the fluid inlet temperatures and flow rates of cooling water as well as RORC working fluid strongly affect system *** off-design operation even becomes infeasible when parameters deviate from nominal values largely due to limited heat transfer capability of components,highlighting the importance of considering heat transfer constraints via heat current *** optimization aiming to minimize the total thermal conductance is also *** efficiency increases by 7.9%and decreases by 12.4%after optimization,with the hot fluid inlet temperature increase from 373.15 to 403.15 K and mass flow rate ranges from 10 to 30 kg/s,emphasizing the necessity of balancing system cost and performance.

U-Pb zircon ages and petrogeochemistry and tectonic implications of gabbro and granite in southwest Lahad Datu area of Sabah, Malaysia

The southwest Lahad Datu felsic rocks were previously thought to have formed in the late Triassic as part of the microcontinental crystalline *** on U-Pb ages,geochemistry,and the Hfisotopes of zircon from the southeastern Sabah gabbro and granite,in this study,the tectonic properties of the Sabah area during the Triassic were *** weighted average U-Pb zircon ages of the gabbro and granite samples were determined to be(230.9±2.5)Ma and(207.1±3.3)Ma,*** granite had SiO_(2) contents of 66.54%-79.47%,low TiO_(2) contents of 0.08%-0.3%,Al_(2)O_(3) contents of 10.97%-16.22%,Na_(2)O contents of 5.91 %-6.39%,and low K_(2)O contents of 0.15%-0.65%.The chondrite-normalized rare earth element(REE) patterns exhibit light REE enrichment,with right-sloping *** primitive mantle-normalized trace element spider diagrams exhibit Th,U,La,Sr,and Zr enrichment and Nb,Ta,P and Ti depletions,i.e.,the geochemical characteristics of typical island arc igneous *** tectonic discriminant diagram indicates that the granite is a volcanic arc *** Hf isotopic an alysis of gabbro zircon revealed that the zircons have ε_(Hf)(t)values of 12.08-16.24(mean of 14.32) and two-stage model ages(t_(DM2)) of 223-491 Ma(mean of 347 Ma).This indicates that the diagenetic magma of the gabbro was mainly derived from melting of newly formed crustal *** ophiolite in southeast Sabah has existed since the early Late *** crystalline basement granite in southeastern S abah was emplaced lasted from late Triassic to early *** on previous studies and global plate reconstruction models,it is speculated that the southeastern Sabah granite may have been formed in an island arc setting,i.e.,where the oceanic crust of the Paleo-Tethys Ocean collided with the oceanic crust of the Panthalassa Ocean.

Measurement and Correlation of Liquid-liquid Equilibria for 1-Hexene-n-Hexane-3-Methysulfolane

Utilizing solvent extraction to separate alkanes and olefins from catalytic light gasoline is an effective method for maximizing the utility of gasoline *** study presents the determination of liquid-liquid equilibrium data for the ternary system of 1-hexene-n-hexane-3-methylsulfolane at 30℃,40℃,and 50℃under atmospheric *** obtained data facilitated the construction of a ternary phase diagram for the *** results showed that the extraction selectivity of 1-hexene/n-hexane exceeded 1.5 when using 3-methylsulfolane as the extraction ***,the thermodynamic consistency of the experimental data was examined using Hand’s equation and the Othmer-Tobias *** correlation coefficient,R^(2)≥0.9578,indicated the acceptable reliability of the phase equilibrium ***,the NRTL(non-random two liquid)model was used to correlate the liquid-liquid phase equilibrium data and derive the binary interaction ***,the results demonstrated that the root mean square deviation of the NRTL model correlation values from the experimental values did not exceed 2.5%.

对流层顶折卷是平流层-对流层物质交换的主要机制.本研究采用三维标记方法,利用1979-2020年间的ERA5再分析数据,分析了对流层顶折卷的时空变化特征及机理.研究结果表明,全球对流层顶折卷的多年变化趋势存在明显的季节性和区域性差异.总体上,对流层顶折卷呈增加趋势,其中北半球的春季,夏季和冬季,对流层顶折卷主要沿副热带急流区呈现明显增加的趋势.进一步分析表明,对流层顶折卷发生频率的增加与大气斜压性增大导致的锋生增强有关,而经向位温梯度的增大使得次级环流增强,也可能促进了对流层顶折卷活动的增多.

Artificial intelligence-assisted repair of peripheral nerve injury: a new research hotspot and associated challenges

Artificial intelligence can be indirectly applied to the repair of peripheral nerve ***,it can be used to analyze and process data regarding peripheral nerve injury and repair,while study findings on peripheral nerve injury and repair can provide valuable data to enrich artificial intelligence *** investigate advances in the use of artificial intelligence in the diagnosis,rehabilitation,and scientific examination of peripheral nerve injury,we used CiteSpace and VOSviewer software to analyze the relevant literature included in the Web of Science from 1994–*** identified the following research hotspots in peripheral nerve injury and repair:(1)diagnosis,classification,and prognostic assessment of peripheral nerve injury using neuroimaging and artificial intelligence techniques,such as corneal confocal microscopy and coherent anti-Stokes Raman spectroscopy;(2)motion control and rehabilitation following peripheral nerve injury using artificial neural networks and machine learning algorithms,such as wearable devices and assisted wheelchair systems;(3)improving the accuracy and effectiveness of peripheral nerve electrical stimulation therapy using artificial intelligence techniques combined with deep learning,such as implantable peripheral nerve interfaces;(4)the application of artificial intelligence technology to brain-machine interfaces for disabled patients and those with reduced mobility,enabling them to control devices such as networked hand prostheses;(5)artificial intelligence robots that can replace doctors in certain procedures during surgery or rehabilitation,thereby reducing surgical risk and complications,and facilitating postoperative *** artificial intelligence has shown many benefits and potential applications in peripheral nerve injury and repair,there are some limitations to this technology,such as the consequences of missing or imbalanced data,low data accuracy and reproducibility,and ethical issues(e.g.,privac

Synthesis of straight-chain C_(49)H_(100) alkane using a modular splicing strategy

Ultra-long n-alkanes are highly valuable in both scientific research and as major constituents of specialty high-melting-point *** conventional methods(e.g.,Fischer–Tropsch(FT),ethylene oligomerization,and polyethylene cracking)typically resulting in wide n-alkane distributions,the elaborate design strategy presented herein allows the direct synthesis of pure,long n-alkanes using a modular splicing method with acetone,furfural,and fatty acid anhydrides or acyl chlorides as *** herein approach is based on a simple four-step catalytic reaction scheme involving C–C chain elongation and C–O bond *** synthesized pure n-alkanes had a carbon chain length as high as C_(49)(total yield of 49%).The synthesis approach also allows to selectively prepare n-alkanes with even and odd carbon numbers ranging from C15 to C_(49).This process represents a great breakthrough in the synthesis of long-chain pure n-alkanes,surpassing the carbon number limitations reported in previous methodologies.

“Slope-adsorption & plateau-pore filling” mechanism unlocking the potential of hard carbon anodes for “fast-charging & large-sized”batteries

To date, there has been no report on fast-charging and Ahlevel sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) by utilizing thick hard carbon anodes that demonstrate prolonged cycling life and high areal capacity at high rates. Further, the relationship among the complex structure of hard carbon, storage mechanism, and fastcharging performance in alkali-metal ion batteries has been a subject of ongoing debate [1,2]. The diverse explanations for the origin of the two voltage regions (slope and plateau) in hard carbons have sparked a controversy regarding the storage mechanism, including “intercalation-pore filling”,“adsorptionintercalation”,“adsorption-pore filling”, and “adsorption-intercalation-pore filling”[3–5].

Accelerating Factor Xa inhibitor discovery with a de novo drug design pipeline

Small-molecule drugs are essential for maintaining human health. The objective of this study is to identify a molecule that can inhibit the Factor Xa protein and be easily procured. An optimization-based de novo drug design framework, DrugCAMD, that integrates a deep learning model with a mixed-integer nonlinear programming model is used for designing drug candidates. Within this framework, a virtual chemical library is specifically tailored to inhibit Factor Xa. To further filter and narrow down the lead compounds from the designed compounds, comprehensive approaches involving molecular docking, binding pose metadynamics (BPMD), binding free energy calculations, and enzyme activity inhibition analysis are utilized. To maximize efficiency in terms of time and resources, molecules for in vitro activity testing are initially selected from commercially available portions of customized virtual chemical libraries. In vitro studies assessing inhibitor activities have confirmed that the compound EN300-331859 shows potential Factor Xa inhibition, with an IC50 value of 34.57 mmol$L-1. Through in silico molecular docking and BPMD, the most plausible binding pose for the EN300-331859-Factor Xa complex are identified. The estimated binding free energy values correlate well with the results obtained from biological assays. Consequently, EN300-331859 is identified as a novel and effective sub-micromolar inhibitor of Factor Xa. Simultaneously enhancing the strength and ductility of as-extruded AlN/AZ91 composites via nano-precipitation and pyramidal slip

Age hardening is often used to optimize the mechanical properties of as-deformed Mg-based materials in industry,whereas the improvement of strength is usually accompanied by the significant loss of ductility,which hinders the application of Mg-based materials in structural *** the present work,high strength-ductility synergy(the yield strength of 263±9 MPa,ultimate tensile strength of 398±7 MPa and elongation to fracture of 34%±1%)was realized in as-extruded AlN/AZ91 composites after optimiz-ing aging *** characterization shows that AlN particles induced a large number of geometrically necessary dislocations around the AlN/Mg interface during extrusion,which decreased the nucleation barrier and provided more heterogeneous nucleation sites forγ-Mg 17 Al 12 continuous ***,95%of residual dislocations in as-extruded AlN/AZ91 composites were annihilated dur-ing peak-aging,suppressing the growth and coarsening of continuous ***,high density of nano-sizedγ-Mg 17 Al 12 continuous precipitates was produced in as-extruded AlN/AZ91 composites af-ter *** tension,gliding dislocations bypassed sphericalγ-Mg 17 Al 12 nano-precipitates by Orowan looping rather than cutting mechanism,which induced a strong block on dislocation *** high yield strength was mainly attributed to the high density of non-shearableγ-Mg 17 Al 12 nano-precipitates with spherical morphology,which was different from other Mg-Al-based *** results of texture evolution and slip trace analysis demonstrated that the suppression of extension twinning and less basal slip was due to the enhanced activity of pyramidalc+aslip in as-extruded AlN/AZ91 com-posites after peak-aging during the room temperature tension,meanwhile,the dislocation density of as-extruded AlN/AZ91 composites was significantly decreased during peak-aging,then higher elongation to fracture was achieved.
