Terahertz biotechnology has been increasingly applied in various biomedical fields and has especially shown great potential for application in brain *** this article,we review the development of terahertz biotechnology and its applications in the field of *** evidence indicates promising prospects for the use of terahertz spectroscopy and terahertz imaging techniques in the diagnosis of amyloid disease,cerebrovascular disease,glioma,psychiatric disease,traumatic brain injury,and myelin *** vitro and animal experiments have also demonstrated the potential therapeutic value of terahertz technology in some neuropsychiatric *** the precise underlying mechanism of the interactions between terahertz electromagnetic waves and the biosystem is not yet fully understood,the research progress in this field shows great potential for biomedical noninvasive diagnostic and therapeutic ***,the biosafety of terahertz radiation requires further exploration regarding its two-sided efficacy in practical *** review demonstrates that terahertz biotechnology has the potential to be a promising method in the field of neuropsychiatry based on its unique advantages.

Ti-bearing slag(TiO2>20 wt%)is a valuable titanium secondary *** extraction of titanium from the slag is difficult due to the complex composition and *** molten oxide electrolysis is considered as a promising method,silicon will be preferentially electroreduced compared to titanium due to low theoretical decomposition *** this work,a liquid copper cathode is used to selectively extract titanium from molten Al2O3-MgO-CaO-TiO2-SiO2 *** is found that comparing to silicon,titanium can be preferentially reduced by one-step electron transfer due to the enhanced depolarization effect on a liquid copper ***,Ti-Cu alloys are firstly obtained from molten Ti-bearing slag,and then Ti-Si alloys are co-electrodeposited in the molten oxide electrolyte with low TiO2 *** may be ascribed to the larger binding force between titanium and copper than that between silicon and *** provides an effective strategy for the separation of titanium from of Ti-bearing slag.

This study was aimed to analyze the effect of procyanidin B2(PC)and tannin acid(TA)on the activities of cholesterol esterase(CEase)and the inhibitory mechanisms of enzymatic *** interaction mechanisms were investigated by enzymatic kinetics,multi-spectroscopy methods,thermodynamics analysis,molecular docking,and dynamic *** and TA could bind with CEase and inhibit the activity of enzyme in a mixed-competitive manner and non-competitive manner,which was verified by molecular docking simulations and dynamics ***,PC and TA showed the synergistic inhibition with ***,UVvis and the thermodynamic analysis revealed that the complexes were formed from CEase and inhibitors by noncovalent *** revealed by the circular dichroism results,both PC and TA decreased enzymatic activities by altering the conformations of *** inhibition of PC and TA on CEase might be one mechanism for its cholesterol-lowering effect.

Real-time graphics processing is all along a crucial task of mobile device, and it is conventionally supported by programmable graphics processing unit(Gpu). These Gpus are designed to flexibly support vertex and pixel processing with classic techniques such as on-chip cache and dynamic programmable pipelining. However, it is difficult for the vertex shader and pixel shader to achieve high utilization of hardware resources, even though there is a certain balance by reasonable processor quantity ratio. In this paper, a unified render shader with a very long instruction word(VLIW) processor was designed. The viewport transformation algorithm and the Mipmap mapping algorithm are respectively mapped on the shader, with the purpose of providing an energy-efficient and flexible hardware platform for graphics processing in mobile device. The implemented operating frequency is up to 134 MHz on Xilinx XC7 Z045-2-FFG900 field programmable gate array(FPGA), and unified architecture shader has a performance of 134 Mpixels/s in pixel fill rate, 546 Mtexels/s in texel fill rate.

In this paper we dicuss the convergence of the modified Broyden algorithms. We prove that the algorithms are globally convergent for the continuous differentiable function and the rate of convergence of the algorithms is one-step superlinear and n-step second-order for the uniformly convex objective function. From the discussion of this paper, we may get some convergence properties of the Broyden algorithms.

Both structure and interface engineering are highly effective strategies for enhancing the catalytic activity and selectivity of precious metal *** this work,we develop a facile pyrolysis strategy to synthesize the high-quality holey platinum nanotubes(Pt-H-NTs)using nanorods-like Pt^(Ⅱ)-phenanthroline(PT)coordination compound as self-template and self-reduction ***,an up-bottom strategy is used to further synthesize polyallylamine(PA)modified Pt-H-NTs(Pt-HNTs@PA).PA modification sharply promotes the catalytic activity of Pt-H-NTs for the formic acid electrooxidation reaction(FAEOR)by the direct reaction ***,PA modification also elevates the catalytic activity of Pt-H-NTs for the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)by the proton enrichment at electrolyte/electrode *** from the high catalytic activity of Pt-H-NTs@PA for both FAEOR and HER,a two-electrode FAEOR boosted water electrolysis system is fabricated by using Pt-H-NTs@PA as bifunctio nal *** FAEOR boosted water electrolysis system only requires the operational voltage of 0.47 V to achieve the high-purity hydrogen production,showing an energy-saving hydrogen production strategy compared to traditional water electrolysis system.

Backbone dihedral angle based clustering approach was applied to investigate the effect of protein complexation on backbone conformational space and the effect on protein dynamics. Three representative enzyme-inhibitor complexes and their comprised proteins were used as models for small- and moderate-sized globular proteins to compare available backbone conformational space before and after complexation. Microsecond time scale molecular dynamic simulations were generated to ensure sufficient statistics. The result suggests that stable protein-protein interactions lead to redistribution of protein backbone mobility and restriction of the protein backbone conformational space, especially for short time scale motions. Surprisingly, these effects are found to be uncorrelated with protein-protein interaction surface. Consistent with many experimental and computational observations, our results indicate that both induced-fit and conformational selection models play roles in stable protein complexation process, with the dominant role being different for different protein complexes.
