Extracellular vesicles are nano-to micro-scale,membrane-bound particles released by cells into extracellular space,and act as carriers of biomarkers and therapeutics,holding promising potential in translational ***,the challenges remain in handling and detecting extracellular vesicles for disease diagnosis as well as exploring their therapeutic capability for disease ***,we review the recent engineering and technology advances by leveraging the power of sound waves to address the challenges in diagnostic and therapeutic applications of extracellular vesicles and biomimetic *** first introduce the fundamental principles of sound waves for understanding different acoustic-assisted extracellular vesicle *** discuss the acoustic-assisted diagnostic methods including the purification,manipulation,biosensing,and bioimaging of extracellular ***,we summarize the recent advances in acoustically enhanced therapeutics using extracellular vesicles and biomimetic ***,we provide perspectives into current challenges and future clinical applications of the promising extracellular vesicles and biomimetic nanovesicles powered by sound.

The spatiotemporal distribution characteristics of the regression rate are crucial aspects of the research on Hybrid Rocket Motor (HRM). This study presents a pioneering effort in achieving a comprehensive numerical simulation of fluid dynamics and heat transfer in both the fluid and solid regions throughout the entire operation of an HRM. To accomplish this, a dynamic grid technique that incorporates fluid-solid coupling is utilized. To validate the precision of the numerical simulations, a firing test is conducted, with embedded thermocouple probes being used to measure the inner temperature of the fuel grain. The temperature variations in the solid fuel obtained from both experiment and simulations show good agreement. The maximum combustion temperature and average thrust obtained from the simulations are found to deviate from the experimental results by only 3.3% and 2.4%, respectively. Thus, it can be demonstrated that transient numerical simulations accurately capture the fluid-solid coupling characteristics and transient regression rate. The dynamic simulation results of inner flow field and solid region throughout the entire working stage reveal that the presence of vortices enhances the blending of combustion gases and improves the regression rate at both the front and rear ends of the fuel grain. In addition, oscillations of the regression rate obtained in the simulation can also be well corresponded with the corrugated surface observed in the experiment. Furthermore, the zero-dimension regression rate formula and the formula describing the axial location dependence of the regression rate are fitted from the simulation results, with the corresponding coefficients of determination (R-2) of 0.9765 and 0.9298, respectively. In the Chinese ADS front-end demo superconducting radiofrequency linac(CAFe)at the Institute of Modern Physics,a burst-noise signal-triggered cavity fault frequently appears during beam *** events are characterized by a rapid burst noise in the cavity pick-up,which may lead to an unexpected low-level radiofrequency(LLRF)response that eventually causes a cavity *** eliminate the undesirable reaction of the LLRF control loop,we propose a method that uses a burstnoise detection and processing algorithm integrated into the LLRF feedback *** algorithm can prevent undesired regulations in LLRF *** analysis revealed that some burst-noise events did not exhibit measurable energy *** contrast,the other events were accompanied by a rapid loss of cavity stored energy and exhibited similarities to the‘‘E-quench’’phenomena reported in other laboratories.A particle-in-cell simulation indicated that the suspected E-quench phenomenon may be related to a plasma formation process inside the ***,the LLRF algorithm is robust to the two different types of burst-noise events and can significantly mitigate the corresponding cavity faults in CAFe beam commissioning.

In this work,a new treatment method combining ultrasonic vibration with FeCoNiCrCu high entropy alloy(HEA)coating was used to prepared Al/Mg bimetal through the lost foam compound *** effects of composite treatment involving ultrasonic vibration and HEA coating on interfacial microstructure and mechanical properties of Al/Mg bimetal were *** demonstrate that the interface thickness of the Al/Mg bimetal with composite treatment significantly decreases to only 26.99%of the thickness observed in the untreated Al/Mg *** HEA coating hinders the diffusion between Al and Mg,resulting the significant reduction in Al/Mg intermetallic compounds in the *** Al/Mg bimetal interface with composite treatment is composed of Al_(3)Mg_(2)and Mg_(2)Si/AlxFeCoNiCrCu+FeCoNiCrCu/δ-Mg+Al_(12)Mg_(17)eutectic *** interface resulting from the composite treatment has a lower hardness than that without *** acoustic cavitation and acoustic streaming effects generated by ultrasonic vibration promote the diffusion of Al elements within the HEA coating,resulting in a significant improvement in the metallurgical bonding quality on the Mg *** fracture position shifts from the Mg side of the Al/Mg bimetal only with HEA coating to the Al side with composite *** shear strength of the Al/Mg bimetal increases from 32.16 MPa without treatment to 63.44 MPa with ultrasonic vibration and HEA coating,increasing by 97.26%.

In acidic paddy fields of South China,rice(Oryza sativa L.)faces the dual challenges of cadmium(Cd)toxicity and silicon(Si)*** previous studies have highlighted the functions of Si application timing and strategies in mitigating Cd-stressed rice,the precise mechanisms underlying the health restoration of Cd-toxic rice and the assurance of grain safety remain *** study explored Cd translocation and detoxification in the shoots of rice regulated by various Si fertilization regimes:Si(T)(all Si added before transplanting),Si(J)(all Si added at jointing),and Si(TJ)(half Si added both before transplanting and at jointing).The findings revealed that the regime of Si(TJ)was more beneficial to rice health and grain safety than Si(T)and Si(J).The osmotic regulators such as proline,soluble sugars,and soluble proteins were significantly boosted by Si(TJ)compared to other Si treatments,and which enhanced membrane integrity,balanced intracellular pH,and increased Cd tolerance of ***,Si(TJ)was more effective than Si(T)and Si(J)on the Cd sequestration in the cell wall,Cd bio-passivation,and the down-regulated expression of the Cd transport *** concentrations of Cd in the xylem and phloem treated with Si(TJ)were reduced ***,Si(TJ)facilitated much more Cd bound with the outer layer proteins of grains,and promoted Cd chelation and complexation by phytic acid,phenolics,and ***,Si(TJ)outperformed Si(T)and Si(J)in harmonizing the phycological processes,inhibiting Cd translocation,and enhancing Cd detoxification in rice *** the split Si application strategy offers potential for reducing Cd toxicity in rice grain.

A 325-MHz superconducting half-wave resonator has been designed with β = 0.51. Three shapes of the inner conductors(race track, ring shape and elliptical shape) were optimized to decrease the peak electromagnetic fields and minimize the dissipated RF power on the cavity walls. In order to suppress the operation frequency shift caused by fluctuations of the helium pressure and maximize the tuning ranges, the frequency shifts and mechanical properties were studied on the electric and magnetic areas. The helium vessel was designed to keep the mechanical structure as robust as possible.
