This study investigated the perceptions and medical history of third molars(M3s)and assessed the prevalence of visible M3s(V-M3s)among 904 Chinese *** enrolled participants were interviewed to complete a structural questionnaire focused on sociodemographic information and their understanding of,attitudes toward,behaviors regarding,and medical history with respect to *** addition,the number of V-M3s in the cohort was determined by oral *** regression analysis was performed to explore the association between individuals'sociodemographic characteristics and their perception of M3s or the presence of *** Chi-square test was used to compare the actions taken against symptomatic M3s and the corresponding outcomes among different groups divided according to respondents'sociodemographic *** total,904 completed questionnaires were gathered and *** half(43.9%)of the respondents knew nothing about M3s,and only 12.7%provided correct answers to all the questions *** sex,older age,occupation involving physical labor,and no previous dental experience were active factors in unawareness of *** sex was also significantly associated with the presence of at least one V-M3 and negative behavior about symptomatic *** terms of medical history,192 participants reported having had at least one M3 extracted(438 in total),and 72.6%of the M3s were removed due to the presence of related symptoms or *** conclusion,the population investigated had a shortage of knowledge about M3s and adopted negative attitudes and actions about M3-related problems.

Characteristics of Serrated Flow in Al-Li Single Crystals

Serrated flow has been investigated in binary Al-Li single crystals treated from as-quenched to overaged conditions. Serration was observed during the deformation of crystals aged from 10 to 100 h at 448 K, but not in the as-quenched and naturally aged conditions. The number of stress drops for serration persistently increases within small stress drop limits as aging time increases until attainment of peak-aged condition. Crystal orientations have some effects on stress drops for serration. (Edited author abstract) 16 Refs.

Derivative Form of Off-axis Aberration Correction Surface and Its Application in Solar Energy Concentration

By using the derivative method, we obtained the same result with that of the previous work of chen et al. in 2006. Different from the integral form, the derivative form of the surface expression published in this paper is derived from differential equation and based on the theory of non-imaging focusing heliostat proposed by chen et al. in 2001. The comparison of the derivative form of fixed aberration correction surface has been made with that of integral form surface as well as that of spherical surface in concentrating the solar ray.

Self-organized Criticality in an Integrate-and-Fire Neuron Model Based on Modified Aging Networks

Based on an integrate-and-fire mechanism, we investigate self-organized criticality of a simple neuron model on a modified BA scale-free network with aging nodes. In our model, we find that the distribution of avalanche size follows power-law behavior. The critical exponent τ depends on the aging exponent α. The structures of the network with aging of nodes change with an increase of α. The different topological structures lead to different behaviors in models of integrate-and-fire neurons.

Integrative multi-omics approaches reveal that Asian cultivated rice domestication influences its symbiotic relationship with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi

Orbital Forcing and Sea-Level Changes in the Earliest Triassic of the Meishan Section,South China

The Earliest Triassic Yinkeng Formation is exposed at the well-known Meishan Section, South China, which contains the Global Stratotype of Section and Point （GSSP） for the Permian- Triassic boundary （PTB）. It records centimeter-scale rhythmic alternations comprised mainly by marl- stone and limestone. Seven types of couplet embedded in five types of bundles were recognized based on occurrence and thickness of the lithologic units, suggesting that their formation was controlled by cyclic processes. The various orders of cycles observed correlate well with other Early Triassic counterparts recorded in South China. Here, we present new cyclostratigraphic results based on lithologic thickness and relative carbonate content of the Yinkeng Formation. Power spectra of carbonate content show that the ratio of major wavelengths recognized throughout the formation is similar to that of the 100 kyr short eccentricity, 33 kyr obliquity, and 21 kyr precession cycles, indicating that astronomical sig- nals are recorded in the Earliest Triassic rhythmic succession. Consistence between pronounced lithologic rhythmicity and sea-level changes obtained from Fischer plots indicates that high-frequency climatic cycles may have driven sea-level changes immediately after the PTB mass extinction. Fur- thermore, the 4th-order sea-level changes interpreted from the sedimentary record match well with 100 kyr short eccentricity component of carbonate content, reflecting that the 100 kyr short eccentricity- induced climate changes may have likely controlled the deposition of 4th-order sequences recognized from rhythmic successions.

Paleoenvironment and organic matter enrichment of the Carboniferous volcanic-related source rocks in the Malang Sag,Santanghu Basin,NW China

Volcanic activity was quite frequent during the deposition of the Late Carboniferous Ha’erjiawu Formation in the Santanghu *** petrology and organic and inorganic geochemical indicators were used to investigate hydrocarbon potential,paleoenvironmental conditions and organic matter enrichment of the *** results show that the oil generation capacity of the Ha’erjiawu Formation mudstones,which has abundant oil-prone organic matter(TypeⅡkerogen with hydrogen index values mainly ranging from 250 to 550 mg HC/g TOC)in mature stage(Tmax values mainly ranging from 435 to 450℃),is *** Ha’erjiawu Formation was deposited in a dysoxic,freshwater-mildly brackish,and warm-humid *** its deposition,the Ha’erjiawu Formation received hydrothermal *** volcanic hydrothermal activities played an important role in the organic matter *** addition,the total organic carbon(TOC)is significantly positively correlated with the felsic mineral content,but it is negatively correlated with the carbonate mineral content and C27/C29 ratios,indicating that terrigenous organic matter input also contributed to the primary productivity in the surface ***,the formation of the high-quality source rocks in the Ha’erjiawu Formation was jointly affected by the hydrothermal activity and the terrigenous organic matter input.

A Modified Earthquake Model Based on Generalized Barabási-Albert Scale-Free Networks

A modified Olami-Feder-Christenaen model of self-organized criticality on generalized Barabási-Albert （GBA） scale-flee networks is investigated. We find that our mode/ displays power-law behavior and the avalanche dynamical behavior is sensitive to the topological structure of networks. Furthermore, the exponent ~ of the model depends on b, which weights the distance in comparison with the degree in the GBA network evolution.
