The Pacific saury Cololabis saira is a commercially important pelagic species with wide distribution in the North Pacific Ocean. Previous studies identified two geographical groups by comparing the radius of otolith annual rings(ROA) of the fish collected during the pre-fishing season. Moreover, understanding the group composition in the mixed catch from the fishing ground is essential for sustainable exploitation of this species. Using samples collected during the fishing season(July–November) from 2016 to 2018, the potential of applying otolith shape analysis as a tool to identify these two mixed groups was tested in this research. Two otolith morphotypes that belong to the eastern group and western group were identified by K-means cluster analysis using Fourier coefficients and ROA. The high classification success of random forest further confirmed the effectiveness of otolith shape analysis. The western group accounted for the majority of catch in July and August at 160?E. With the passing of sampling time and fishing fleets moving westward, the proportion of eastern group gradually increased and finally reached more than 60% of the whole catch in November at 150°E. This result suggests that the eastern and western groups are well mixed during spawning migration. In addition, the temporal and spatial dynamics of their catch composition provide information for their migration route. This study is helpful for improving fisheries management and understanding the short-term stock fluctuation of Pacific saury.

According to the solar proton data observed by Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellites （GOES）, ground-based neutron monitors on Earth and near-relativistic electron data measured by the ACE spacecraft, the onset times of protons with different energies and near-relativistic electrons have been estimated and compared with the time of solar soft and hard X-ray and radio burst data. The results show that first arriving relativistic and non-relativistic protons and electrons may have been accelerated by the concurrent flare. The results also suggest that release times of protons with different energies may be different, and the protons with lower energy may have been released earlier than those with higher energy. Some protons accelerated by concurrent flares may be further accelerated by the shock driven by the associated CME.

This paper deals with the procedure and methodology which can be used to select the optimal treatment and disposal technology of municipal solid waste （MSW）, and to provide practical and effective technical support to policy-making, on the basis of study on solid waste management status and development trend in china and abroad. Focusing on various treatment and disposal technologies and processes of MSW, this study established a Monte-Carlo mathematical model of cost minimization for MSW handling subjected to environmental constraints. A new method of element stream （such as C, H, O, N, S） analysis in combination with economic stream analysis of MSW was developed. By following the streams of different treatment processes consisting of various techniques from generation, separation, transfer, transport, treatment, recycling and disposal of the wastes, the element constitution as well as its economic distribution in terms of possibility functions was identified. Every technique step was evaluated economically. The Mont-Carlo method was then conducted for model calibration. Sensitivity analysis was also carried out to identify the most sensitive factors. Model calibration indicated that landfill with power generation of landfill gas was economically the optimal technology at the present stage under the condition of more than 58% of C, H, O, N, S going to landfill. Whether or not to generate electricity was the most sensitive factor. If landfilling cost increases, MSW separation treatment was recommended by screening first followed with incinerating partially and composting partially with residue landfilling. The possibility of incineration model selection as the optimal technology was affected by the city scale. For big cities and metropolitans with large MSW generation, possibility for constructing large-scale incineration facilities increases, whereas, for middle and small cities, the effectiveness of incinerating waste decreases.

Identification of squids in the family Loliginidae is a time-consuming exercise because of the highly overlapping distributions of species and their overall similarity(fin shape and size,sucker ring dentition,and color).Identifying squid based on statolith morphology is considered more accurate than identifying species based on beaks or gladius *** report and compare the statolith shape offive commercially Loliginidae squid(Uroteuthis(Photololigo)duvaucelii,***,***,Loliolus beka,***)to determine how well these structures discriminate *** on statolith morphology,variation in the lateral and dorsal domes enables an 84.8%success rate at classifying *** factors correlate with statolith shape,and for vertically migrating squid,statolith relative size decreases with increased depth of *** morphology can be used to effectively and accurately identify species of Loliginidae squid occurring in chinese waters,and may prove valuable for identifying and managing squid resources.

Information on survival and growth during the early life stage is essential to understand the mechanism of interannual variations in fish *** mackerel Scomber japonicus is a commercially important pelagic fish widely distributed in the northwestern *** catch showed large fluctuations with changes in distribution and migration under climate change and strong *** determined the hatch dates and growth rates of young-of-the-year of chub mackerel through otolith microstructure using samples collected in the Oyashio water in autumn *** show that the ages of young chub mackerel ranged between 120 and 180 d,and the estimated hatch date lasted from midJanuary to late May with a peak from mid-March to *** otolith daily increment width during the early life stages(from hatching to 25 d)showed an increasing *** mackerel grows slowly in the first 10 d,and then grows faster during the 10thto *** groups with dissimilar growth histories and migration routes were identified using unsupervised random forest clustering analysis,but all eventually converge on the same nursery *** faster growth of young-of-the-year chub mackerel leads to better recruitment due to the hypothesis of growth-dependent *** chub mackerels hatched in March and April,the spawning period is longer and earlier,which could lead to strong year *** findings on population composition and life history traits of young-of-the-year of chub mackerel provide valuable information on its recruitment processes during the period of stock recovery.

The simulation on benchmarks is a very simple and efficient method to evaluate the performance of the algorithm for solving flexible job shop scheduling *** to the assignment and scheduling decisions,flexible job shop scheduling problem(FJSP)becomes extremely hard to solve for production management.A discrete multi-objective particle swarm optimization(PSO)and simulated annealing(SA)algorithm with variable neighborhood search is developed for FJSP with three criteria:the makespan,the total workload and the critical machine ***,a discrete PSO is designed and then SA algorithm performs variable neighborhood search integrating two neighborhoods on public critical block to enhance the search ***,the selection strategy of the personal-best individual and global-best individual from the external archive is developed in multi-objective *** the experimental simulation on matlab,the tests on Kacem instances,Brdata instances and BCdata instances show that the modified discrete multi-objective PSO algorithm is a promising and valid method for optimizing FJSP with three criteria.

Multiple natural and human factors in estuarine wetlands result in complicated land surface characteristics with distinct spatial and temporal heterogeneities,thereby contributing to the difficulty in identifying spatiotemporal variations and influencing factors of plant diversity.A unique estuarine wetland gradient system(UEWGS)consisting of soil,vegetation,heat,distance,landscape,and anthropogenic gradients was established based on the ecological features of estuarine wetland through remote sensing and field investigation *** resolved the complicated land surface characteristics,covered all aspects of factors influencing plant diversity,and possessed distinct spatiotemporal *** Yellow River Delta,the largest estuarine wetland in the northern china,was selected as the study area to demonstrate UEWGS in four seasons in 2017.A total of 123 species were recorded with considerable seasonal *** australis,Suaeda salsa,and Tamarix chinensis were the dominant species,and crop species also played important *** single effect,all aspects of gradients exerted significant influences,yet only vegetation gradient possessed significant influences in all *** comprehensive effect,soil,vegetation,heat,and distance gradients showed significant gross *** content in soil gradient and net primary productivity in vegetation gradient possessed significant net influences in all seasons and can be considered as the main driving factor and indicator,respectively,of plant *** results validated the significance of UEWGS in revealing the plant diversity spatiotemporal characteristics and influencing factors,and UEWGS possessed universal applicability in the spatiotemporal analysis of plant diversity in estuarine areas.
