A route for large-scale preparation of multifunctional superhydrophobic coating with electrochemically-modified kaolin for efficient corrosion protection of magnesium alloys

Superhydrophobic coating has been widely studied for its great applicational potential, such as for corrosion protection of magnesium alloys while it has been restrained by expensive materials, sophisticated preparation process and infirm rough structures. In this study, the electrochemical method was adopted by using a two-electrode system for rapid hydrophobic modification to obtain superhydrophobic kaolin.By mixing the modified superhydrophobic kaolin with commercial epoxy resin and polydimethylsiloxane glue, a paint can be formed and easily used on various substrates for preparation of superhydrophobic coating via spraying method. The influence factors on wettability of the modified kaolin and the mixing ratio of each component of the coating were explored. Also, the wettability, durability and anticorrosion of the prepared coating were evaluated comprehensively. The coating was able to maintain superhydrophobic after immersed in Hcl solution at pH 1, the NaOH solution at pH 14, and 3.5 wt.% Nacl solution for 16, 21, 30 days, respectively. In addition, the coating exhibited 4A grade adhesion, high hydrophobicity after abraded for 200 cycles on a 600-mesh sandpaper with 100 g weight, and 99.86% anticorrosion efficiency after soaked in 3.5 wt.% Nacl solution for 20 days, demonstrating a good robustness and anti-corrosion property. Furthermore, the coating showed good transparency, flexibility and was easy to make in a large scale by the spraying method, which is of great significance to promote the practical application of superhydrophobic coatings and the anticorrosion Mg alloys.

Binary doping of nitrogen and phosphorus into porous carbon: A novel di-functional material for enhancing cO_(2) capture and super-capacitance

Designing of hetero-atomic doped carbon-based systems through pyrolysis of abundant element organic precursors is a novel approach to construct rational porous carbon materials.Herein,a highly-cross-linked triazine polymer is employed to fabricate N,P co-doped porous carbon(A-TDP-12)with tunable active nitrogen in the carbon framework for simultaneous enhancement of cO_(2) capture capability and Supercapacitance(Sc).The synthesized A-TDP-12 possesses a typical hierarchically porous framework(micro-pores and meso-pores)with a large surface area(1332 m^(2) g^(-1))and a rich content of N(7.89 at.%)and P(0.74 at.%).It delivers a cO_(2) adsorption capacity of 1.52 and 5.68 mmol g^(-1) at 1 and 5 bar,respectively,with almost no decay after successive 8 recycles.In 6 M KOH aqueous electrolyte,A-TDP-12 exhibits a superior specific capacitance of 172.7 F g^(-1) at a current density of 1 A g^(-1).Even at a high current density of 10 A g^(-1),80%of its initial capacity still remains.This work not only offers a novel strategy for fabricating promising adsorbents and electrodes for cO_(2) uptake and Scs,but also provides new insights into design of porous carbon material for related applications.

A novel electrolytic-manganese-residues-and-serpentine-based composite(S-EMR) for enhanced cd(Ⅱ) and Pb(Ⅱ) adsorption in aquatic environment

Electrolytic manganese residue(EMR) is the waste slag generated from the electrolysis manganese industry.As a promising exploitable adsorbent,EMR has become a hot research topic.However,EMR’s low adsorption capacity has limited its applications as an efficient adsorbent.In this study,the EMR was mixed with serpentine and calcined(at 800℃ for 2 h) to prepare a composite adsorbent(S-EMR) with its specific surface area of 11.998 m^(2)·g^(-1)(increased compared to the original EMR) and improved adsorption capacities for cd^(2+)(98.05 mg·g^(-1)) and Pb^(2+)(565.81 mg·g^(-1)).Kinetic studies have shown that the pseudo-first-order kinetics(PSO)model could best describe the adsorption kinetics of S-EMR for cd^(2+)/Pb^(2+),implying that the chemisorption process is the rate-limiting step.The effects of different interfering ions on S-EMR’ s adsorption for cd^(2+)/Pb^(2+)may be due to the difference in their electronegativity.Results of response surface methodology tests showed that pH had the highest influence on adsorption,and the removal efficiency of S-EMR reached 99.92% for cd(Ⅱ) and 94.00%for Pb(Ⅱ).X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) analyses revealed that chemical precipitation was the predominant mechanism for cd^(2+)/Pb^(2+)removal,and the adsorption mechanisms were associated with ion exchange and electrostatic attraction.The results showed that S-EMR could be used as an effective adsorbent for the removal of cd(Ⅱ)/Pb(Ⅱ) from water bodies,rendering dual benefits of pollution control and resource recovery.

In engineering application,there is only one adaptive weights estimated by most of traditional early warning radars for adaptive interference suppression in a pulse reputation interval(PRI).Therefore,if the training samples used to calculate the weight vector does not contain the jamming,then the jamming cannot be removed by adaptive spatial filtering.If the weight vector is constantly updated in the range dimension,the training data may contain target echo signals,resulting in signal cancellation effect.To cope with the situation that the training samples are contaminated by target signal,an iterative training sample selection method based on non-homogeneous detector(NHD)is proposed in this paper for updating the weight vector in entire range dimension.The principle is presented,and the validity is proven by simulation results.

cellulose-derived carbon is regarded as one of the most promising candidates for high-performance anode materials in sodium-ion batteries;however,its poor rate performance at higher current density remains a challenge to achieve high power density sodium-ion batteries.The present review comprehensively elucidates the structural characteristics of cellulose-based materials and cellulose-derived carbon materials,explores the limitations in enhancing rate performance arising from ion diffusion and electronic transfer at the level of cellulose-derived carbon materials,and proposes corresponding strategies to improve rate performance targeted at various precursors of cellulose-based materials.This review also presents an update on recent progress in cellulose-based materials and cellulose-derived carbon materials,with particular focuses on their molecular,crystalline,and aggregation structures.Furthermore,the relationship between storage sodium and rate performance the carbon materials is elucidated through theoretical calculations and characterization analyses.Finally,future perspectives regarding challenges and opportunities in the research field of cellulose-derived carbon anodes are briefly highlighted.

Frequency Domain Fatigue Evaluation on ScR Girth-Weld Based on Structural Stress

The Steel catenary Riser(ScR)is a vital component for transporting oil and gas from the seabed to the floating platform.The harsh environmental conditions and complex platform motion make the ScR’s girth-weld prone to fatigue failure.The structural stress fatigue theory and Master S-N curve method provide accurate predictions for the fatigue damage on the welded joints,which demonstrate significant potential and compatibility in multi-axial and random fatigue evaluation.Here,we propose a new frequency fatigue model subjected to welded joints of ScR under multiaxial stress,which fully integrates the mesh-insensitive structural stress and frequency domain random process and transforms the conventional welding fatigue technique of ScR into a spectrum analysis technique utilizing structural stress.Besides,a full-scale FE model of ScR with welds is established to obtain the modal structural stress of the girth weld and the frequency response function(FRF)of modal coordinate,and a biaxial fatigue evaluation about the girth weld of the ScR can be achieved by taking the effects of multi-load correlation and pipe-soil interaction into account.The research results indicate that the frequency-domain fatigue results are aligned with the time-domain results,meeting the fatigue evaluation requirements of the ScR.

Vermicompost:In situ retardant of antibiotic resistome accumulation in cropland soils

The dissemination of antibiotic resistance genes(ARGs)in soil has become a global environmental issue.Vermicomposting is gaining prominence in agricultural practices as a soil amendment to improve soil quality.However,its impact on soil ARGs remains unclear when it occurs in farmland.We comprehensively explored the evolution and fate of ARGs and their hosts in the field soil profiles under vermicompost application for more than 3years.Vermicompost application increased several ARG loads in soil environment but decreased the high-risk bla-ARGs(bla_(ampc),bla_(NDM),and bla_(GES-1))by log(0.04-0.43).ARGs in soil amended with vermicompost primarily occurred in topsoil(approximately 1.04-fold of unfertilized soil),but it is worth noting that their levels in the 40-60 cm soil layer were the same or even less than in the unfertilized soil.The microbial community structure changed in soil profiles after vermicompost application.Vermicompost application altered the microbial community structure in soil profiles,showing that the dominant bacteria(i.e.,Proteobacteria,Actinobacteriota,Firmicutes)were decreased 2.62%-5.48%with the increase of soil depth.A network analysis further revealed that most of ARG dominant host bacteria did not migrate from surface soil to deep soil.In particular,those host bacteria harboring high-risk bla-ARGs were primarily concentrated in the surface soil.This study highlights a lower risk of the propagation of ARGs caused by vermicompost application and provides a novel approach to reduce and relieve the dissemination of ARGs derived from animals in agricultural production.

New method for multibody dynamics based on unknown constraint force

This paper presents a new method for the dynamics of multibody systems based on unknown constraint force. The method can uniformly solve multibody systems with typical configurations, including the system with rigid-flexible coupling, the system in tree topology, and the system with loop constraints. Unlike common methods, the proposed method can model the loop system without “cutting off” loop constraints, leading to the exact same modelling process as the tree-like system performs. Based on graph theory, a topological record matrix M_(rec) is proposed to capture the arbitrary system configuration. Moreover, constraint forces are selected as the key variables in semi-recursive framework. With the recursive kinematics relationship between adjacent bodies, the constraint force equation is further assembled to achieve the full-state system solution. The numerical simulations demonstrate the accuracy of the proposed method.

Evolution of suspension bridge structural systems,design theories,and shape-finding methods:A literature survey

Modern suspension bridges exhibit a trend of lighter structures,more diversified structural forms,and longer spans,the latter already exceeding two kilometers.Bridge performance under dead and live loads depends on their structural and main cable systems,while cablesupported bridges especially rely on the design analysis and construction control of the main cable.This literary survey systematically analyzes the research progress and state-ofthe-art status quo in the structural systems and design theories of suspension bridges,focusing on the structural systems,main cable shape analyses,live load effect analyses,and emerging lucrative research directions.More than 100 reliable references have been surveyed.(1)Multi-span or multi-main cable schemes appeal to increasing attention,which may become a better choice in terms of structural systems in scenarios with extremely long spans and heavy loads.The cable layouts,such as spatial main cables and hybrid cable-stayed suspension systems have also become feasible approaches for enhancing structural stiffness.(2)The shape-finding analysis during the construction phase is more complex and has more essential factors than that of the completed bridge state.Refined theories combining analytical methods and finite element methods are more suitable for the shape-finding analysis of complex cable systems than any single theory of the two,especially for novel cable systems.(3)The live load effect analysis methods based on traditional deflection theory or modified/improved deflection theories still have wide applications,but the refined theory of treating hangers as discrete members is also constantly developing,which is expected to provide new ideas for more complex structural analysis under the different types of live loads and their distribution forms.

circ_0003855 involvement of esophageal cancer progression through miR-622/FLOT1

To confirm the relationship between circ_0003855 and Ec,we purchased the Human esophageal carcinoma cell line Eca109 and normal human esophageal epithelial cells HEEc,and the expression levels of circ_0003855,miR-622,and FLOT1 were detected.The results show that circ_0003855 and FLOT1 were highly expressed in Eca109 cells,while miR-622 was lowly expressed(pcirc_0003855 small interfering RNA(si-circ_0003855)and its negative control(si-Nc)were used to detect changes in cellular biological behaviors.We found that the activity of Eca109 cells was reduced after interfering with the expression of circ_0003855,and miR-622 expression was elevated,while FLOT1 was decreased(pcirc_0003855 and miR-622 inhibitor sequence(miR-622-inhibition)were co-transfected into cells with miR-622-inhibition alone,and untreated Eca109 cells were used as a control to detect the expression of FLOT1.co-transfection of si-circ_0003855 and miR-622-inhibition showed no significant difference in FLOT1 expression compared to the control cells(p>0.05).Synthesizing the results of these experiments above,we believe that interfering with the expression of circ_0003855 can inhibit the activity of Ec cells,and its mechanism is related to miR-622 and FLOT1.
