A route for large-scale preparation of multifunctional superhydrophobic coating with electrochemically-modified kaolin for efficient corrosion protection of magnesium alloys

Superhydrophobic coating has been widely studied for its great applicational potential, such as for corrosion protection of magnesium alloys while it has been restrained by expensive materials, sophisticated preparation process and infirm rough structures. In this study, the electrochemical method was adopted by using a two-electrode system for rapid hydrophobic modification to obtain superhydrophobic *** mixing the modified superhydrophobic kaolin with commercial epoxy resin and polydimethylsiloxane glue, a paint can be formed and easily used on various substrates for preparation of superhydrophobic coating via spraying method. The influence factors on wettability of the modified kaolin and the mixing ratio of each component of the coating were explored. Also, the wettability, durability and anticorrosion of the prepared coating were evaluated comprehensively. The coating was able to maintain superhydrophobic after immersed in Hcl solution at pH 1, the NaOH solution at pH 14, and 3.5 wt.% Nacl solution for 16, 21, 30 days, respectively. In addition, the coating exhibited 4A grade adhesion, high hydrophobicity after abraded for 200 cycles on a 600-mesh sandpaper with 100 g weight, and 99.86% anticorrosion efficiency after soaked in 3.5 wt.% Nacl solution for 20 days, demonstrating a good robustness and anti-corrosion property. Furthermore, the coating showed good transparency, flexibility and was easy to make in a large scale by the spraying method, which is of great significance to promote the practical application of superhydrophobic coatings and the anticorrosion Mg alloys.

Binary doping of nitrogen and phosphorus into porous carbon: A novel di-functional material for enhancing cO_(2) capture and super-capacitance

Designing of hetero-atomic doped carbon-based systems through pyrolysis of abundant element organic precursors is a novel approach to construct rational porous carbon ***,a highly-cross-linked triazine polymer is employed to fabricate N,P co-doped porous carbon(A-TDP-12)with tunable active nitrogen in the carbon framework for simultaneous enhancement of cO_(2) capture capability and Supercapacitance(Sc).The synthesized A-TDP-12 possesses a typical hierarchically porous framework(micro-pores and meso-pores)with a large surface area(1332 m^(2) g^(-1))and a rich content of N(7.89 at.%)and P(0.74 at.%).It delivers a cO_(2) adsorption capacity of 1.52 and 5.68 mmol g^(-1) at 1 and 5 bar,respectively,with almost no decay after successive 8 *** 6 M KOH aqueous electrolyte,A-TDP-12 exhibits a superior specific capacitance of 172.7 F g^(-1) at a current density of 1 A g^(-1).Even at a high current density of 10 A g^(-1),80%of its initial capacity still *** work not only offers a novel strategy for fabricating promising adsorbents and electrodes for cO_(2) uptake and Scs,but also provides new insights into design of porous carbon material for related applications.

A novel electrolytic-manganese-residues-and-serpentine-based composite(S-EMR) for enhanced cd(Ⅱ) and Pb(Ⅱ) adsorption in aquatic environment

Electrolytic manganese residue(EMR) is the waste slag generated from the electrolysis manganese *** a promising exploitable adsorbent,EMR has become a hot research ***,EMR’s low adsorption capacity has limited its applications as an efficient *** this study,the EMR was mixed with serpentine and calcined(at 800℃ for 2 h) to prepare a composite adsorbent(S-EMR) with its specific surface area of 11.998 m^(2)·g^(-1)(increased compared to the original EMR) and improved adsorption capacities for cd^(2+)(98.05 mg·g^(-1)) and Pb^(2+)(565.81 mg·g^(-1)).Kinetic studies have shown that the pseudo-first-order kinetics(PSO)model could best describe the adsorption kinetics of S-EMR for cd^(2+)/Pb^(2+),implying that the chemisorption process is the rate-limiting *** effects of different interfering ions on S-EMR’ s adsorption for cd^(2+)/Pb^(2+)may be due to the difference in their *** of response surface methodology tests showed that pH had the highest influence on adsorption,and the removal efficiency of S-EMR reached 99.92% for cd(Ⅱ) and 94.00%for Pb(Ⅱ).X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) analyses revealed that chemical precipitation was the predominant mechanism for cd^(2+)/Pb^(2+)removal,and the adsorption mechanisms were associated with ion exchange and electrostatic *** results showed that S-EMR could be used as an effective adsorbent for the removal of cd(Ⅱ)/Pb(Ⅱ) from water bodies,rendering dual benefits of pollution control and resource recovery.

Frequency Domain Fatigue Evaluation on ScR Girth-Weld Based on Structural Stress

The Steel catenary Riser(ScR)is a vital component for transporting oil and gas from the seabed to the floating *** harsh environmental conditions and complex platform motion make the ScR’s girth-weld prone to fatigue *** structural stress fatigue theory and Master S-N curve method provide accurate predictions for the fatigue damage on the welded joints,which demonstrate significant potential and compatibility in multi-axial and random fatigue ***,we propose a new frequency fatigue model subjected to welded joints of ScR under multiaxial stress,which fully integrates the mesh-insensitive structural stress and frequency domain random process and transforms the conventional welding fatigue technique of ScR into a spectrum analysis technique utilizing structural ***,a full-scale FE model of ScR with welds is established to obtain the modal structural stress of the girth weld and the frequency response function(FRF)of modal coordinate,and a biaxial fatigue evaluation about the girth weld of the ScR can be achieved by taking the effects of multi-load correlation and pipe-soil interaction into *** research results indicate that the frequency-domain fatigue results are aligned with the time-domain results,meeting the fatigue evaluation requirements of the ScR.

High-efficiently doping nitrogen in kapok fiber-derived hard carbon used as anode materials for boosting rate performance of sodium-ion batteries

The engineering of plant-based precursor for nitrogen doping has become one of the most promising strategies to enhance rate capability of hard carbon materials for sodium-ion batteries;however,the poor rate performance is mainly caused by lack of pyridine nitrogen,which often tends to escape because of high temperature in preparation process of hard *** this paper,a high-rate kapok fiber-derived hard carbon is fabricated by cross-linking carboxyl group in 2,6-pyridinedicarboxylic acid with the exposed hydroxyl group on alkalized kapok with assistance of zinc ***,a high nitrogen doping content of 4.24%is achieved,most of which are pyridine nitrogen;this is crucial for improving the defect sites and electronic conductivity of hard *** optimized carbon with feature of high nitrogen content,abundant functional groups,degree of disorder,and large layer spacing exhibits high capacity of 401.7 mAh g^(−1)at a current density of 0.05 A g^(−1),and more importantly,good rate performance,for example,even at the current density of 2 A g^(−1),a specific capacity of 159.5 mAh g^(−1)can be *** findings make plant-based hard carbon a promising candidate for commercial application of sodium-ion batteries,achieving high-rate performance with the enhanced pre-cross-linking interaction between plant precursors and dopants to optimize aromatization process by auxiliary pyrolysis.

New method for multibody dynamics based on unknown constraint force

This paper presents a new method for the dynamics of multibody systems based on unknown constraint force. The method can uniformly solve multibody systems with typical configurations, including the system with rigid-flexible coupling, the system in tree topology, and the system with loop constraints. Unlike common methods, the proposed method can model the loop system without “cutting off” loop constraints, leading to the exact same modelling process as the tree-like system performs. Based on graph theory, a topological record matrix M_(rec) is proposed to capture the arbitrary system configuration. Moreover, constraint forces are selected as the key variables in semi-recursive framework. With the recursive kinematics relationship between adjacent bodies, the constraint force equation is further assembled to achieve the full-state system solution. The numerical simulations demonstrate the accuracy of the proposed method.

An analytical model of hot rolling force for a thick plate by combining globally optimal approximation yield criterion and egg-circular velocity field

For the sake of solving the problem that it is difficult to be integrated for the Mises specific plastic power due to its nonlinearity,a new linear criterion,named the globally optimal approximation criterion,is constructed by the polygonal approximation to the Mises *** new criterion is proved to be the linear function of the principal stress componentsσ1,σ2 andσ3 and the trajectory of it on theπ-plane is a non-equiangular but equilateral dodecagon intersecting the Mises *** theoretical results of the current criterion described by the Lode stress parameters are in excellent accordance with the experimental ***,according to the trend that the metallic flow velocity between rollers aggrandizes gradually from the inlet to the outlet during the hot rolling of a thick plate,a biomimetic velocity field is proposed in which the horizontal velocity component fits the egg-circular curve *** velocity field and its simulated results agree quite ***,using the determined linear criterion,energy analysis of the constructed velocity field is utilized to obtain the interior deformation power,while the vector decomposition approach is utilized to obtain the frictional power and shear *** this basis,the overall power is obtained and the analytical solutions are generated for the rolling torque,rolling force and the coefficient of the stress state under different egg curves by minimizing the neutral ***,the parameter optimization of the characteristic parameterρwhich affects the slope of the egg-circular curve is carried out and the best egg-circular curve which can minimize the energy consumption is *** best agreement between the theoretical and observed values of rolling force and rolling torque is under this curve,and the mean relative errors of the rolling torque and rolling force are no more than 2.93%,while the maximum error is no more than 8.35%.
