Changes of the immunological barrier of intestina mucosa in rats with sepsis

BACKGROUND： Sepsis has become the greatest threat to in-patients, with a mortality of over 25%.The dysfunction of gut barrier, especially the immunological barrier, plays an important role in the development of sepsis. This dysfunction occurs after surgery, but the magnitude of change does not differentiate patients with sepsis from those without sepsis. Increased intestinal permeability before surgery is of no value in predicating sepsis. The present study aimed to observe the changes of intestinal mucosal immunologic barrier in rat models of sepsis induced by cecal ligation and ***： Sixty Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into a sepsis group （n=45） and a control group （n=15）. The rats in the sepsis group were subjected to cecal ligation and puncture （CLP）, whereas the rats in the control group underwent a sham operation. The ileac mucosa and segments were harvested 3, 6 and 12 hours after CLP, and blood samples were collected. Pathological changes, protein levels of defensin-5 （RD-5） and trefoil factor-3 （TFF3） mRNA, and lymphocytes apoptosis in the intestinal mucosa were determined. In an additional experiment, the gut-origin bacterial DNA in blood was ***： The intestinal mucosa showed marked injury with loss of ileal villi, desquamation of epithelium, detachment of lamina propria, hemorrhage and ulceration in the sepsis group. The expression of TFF3 mRNA and level of RD-5 protein were decreased and the apoptosis of mucosal lymphocyte increased （P〈0.05） in the sepsis group compared with the control group. Significant differences were observed in RD-5 and TFF3 mRNA 3 hours after CLP and they were progressively increased 6 and 12 hours after CLP in the sepsis group compared with the control group （P〈0.05, RD-5 F=11.76, TFF3 F=16.86 and apoptosis F=122.52）. Background:Cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR)strategies in COVID-19 patients differ from those in patients suffering from cardiogenic cardiac *** CPR,both healthcare and non-healthcare workers who provide resuscitation are at risk of *** Working Group for Expert Consensus on Prevention and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation for Cardiac Arrest in COVID-19 has developed this Chinese Expert Consensus to guide clinical practice of CPR in COVID-19 *** recommendations:1)A medical team should be assigned to evaluate severe and critical COVID-19 for early monitoring of cardiac-arrest warning signs.2)Psychological counseling and treatment are highly recommended,since sympathetic and vagal abnormalities induced by psychological stress from the COVID-19 pandemic can induce cardiac arrest.3)Healthcare workers should wear personal protective equipment(PPE).4)Mouth-to-mouth ventilation should be avoided on patients suspected of having or diagnosed with COVID-19.5)Hands-only chest compression and mechanical chest compression are recommended.6)Tracheal-intubation procedures should be optimized and tracheal-intubation strategies should be implemented early.7)CPR should be provided for 20-30 min.8)Various factors should be taken into consideration such as the interests of patients and family members,ethics,transmission risks,and laws and regulations governing infectious disease *** in management:The following changes or modifications to CPR strategy in COVID-19 patients are proposed:1)Healthcare workers should wear PPE.2)Hands-only chest compression and mechanical chest compression can be implemented to reduce or avoid the spread of viruses by aerosols.3)Both the benefits to patients and the risk of infection should be considered.4)Hhealthcare workers should be fully aware of and trained in CPR strategies and procedures specifically for patients with COVID-19.

Study on the effect of dimple position on drag reduction of high-speed maglev train

Transient numerical simulations were carried out by placing dimples at the top,sides and bottoms of the tail car streamline area of a high-speed maglev *** results of an improved delayed detached eddy simulation turbulence model using three-dimensional compressible Navier-Stokes and shear-stress transport K-Omega double equations were compared to the results of a wind tunnel test to verify the numerical simulation accuracy,within 5%of the ground truth,which is an acceptable precision *** results show that dimples arranged on the streamline area atop the train tail car affected the locations at which the airflow at the top and bottom of the train met and weakened the strength of the *** aerodynamic drag and lift coefficient decreased by 3.40%and 4.27%,*** the dimples were arranged on the streamline area at the sides or bottoms of the train tail car,they had little effect on the top of the tail car,so they did not destroy the balance of the airflow at the top and *** also had little influence on the development of wake ***,the aerodynamic drag and lift of the train changed little.

A Self-synchronizing Stream encryption Scheme Based on One-Dimensional Coupled Map Lattices

We present a self-synchronizing stream encryption scheme based on one-dimensional coupled map lattices which is introduced as a model with the essential features of spatiotemporal chaos, and of great complexity and diffusion capability of the little disturbance in the initial condition. To evaluate the scheme, a series of statistical tests are employed, and the results show good random-look nature of the ciphertext. Furthermore, we apply our algorithm to encrypt a grey-scale image to show the key sensitivity.

Learning Better Word Embedding by Asymmetric Low-Rank Projection of Knowledge Graph

Word embedding, which refers to low-dimensional dense vector representations of natural words, has demon- strated its power in many natural language processing tasks. However, it may suffer from the inaccurate and incomplete information contained in the free text corpus as training data. To tackle this challenge, there have been quite a few studies that leverage knowledge graphs as an additional information source to improve the quality of word embedding. Although these studies have achieved certain success, they have neglected some important facts about knowledge graphs： 1） many relationships in knowledge graphs are many-to-one, one-to-many or even many-to-many, rather than simply one-to-one; 2） most head entities and tail entities in knowledge graphs come from very different semantic spaces. To address these issues, in this paper, we propose a new algorithm named ProjectNet. ProjectNet models the relationships between head and tail entities after transforming them with different low-rank projection matrices. The low-rank projection can allow non one- to-one relationships between entities, while different projection matrices for head and tail entities allow them to originate in different semantic spaces. The experimental results demonstrate that ProjectNet yields more accurate word embedding than previous studies, and thus leads to clear improvements in various natural language processing tasks.

Unveiling the molecule–plasmon interactions in surface-enhanced infrared absorption spectroscopy

Nanostructure-based surface-enhanced infrared absorption(SEIRA) spectroscopy has attracted tremendous interest as an ultrasensitive detection tool that supplies chemical-fingerprint information. The interactions between molecular vibrations and plasmons lead to not only the enhancement of spectral intensity, but also the distortion of spectral Lorentzian lineshapes into asymmetric Fano-type or more complicated lineshapes in the SEIRA spectra; this effect hampers the correct readout of vibrational frequencies and intensities for an accurate interpretation of the measured spectra and quantitative *** this work, we investigate the Fano interference between molecular vibrations and plasmons based on exact electrodynamic simulations and theoretical models. We report that, even if the molecular vibrational energy is equal to the plasmon resonant energy, the molecule–nanostructure distance-dependent dipole–dipole interactions, the plasmon-mediated coherent intermolecular interactions and the decay rates of plasmons have a significant impact on the SEIRA lineshapes. This study paves the way for controllable Fano interference at the nanoscale and more studies on plasmon-dressed molecular electronic or vibrational excited states.

New process for production of ultra-thin grain oriented silicon steel

The Hi-B silicon steels were cold rolled by cross shear rolling (CSR) with different mismatch speed ratio(MSR)s and conventional rolling(CR) respectively, followed by primary recrystallization annealing. The effects of MSR and annealing temperature on magnetic properties of ultra-thin grain oriented silicon steel were analyzed. Experimental results show that, with the increase of MSR, the magnetic properties can be remarkably improved. The higher the annealing temperature is, the higher the magnetic induction and the lower the iron loss in ultra-thin silicon steel is.

Effects of nano-Al_2O_3 and nano-ZrO_2 on the microstructure, behavior and abrasive wear resistance of WC-8Co cemented carbide

WC-8wt.% Co cemented carbides with varied nano-Al 2 O 3 and nano-ZrO 2 contents were prepared respectively following conventional powder metallurgical procedures. Effects of nano-Al 2 O 3 and nano-ZrO 2 on the microstructure, behavior, and abrasive wear resistance were investigated. The result shows that a finer and more homogenous microstructure can be achieved by increasing nano-Al 2 O 3 , and increasing nano-ZrO 2 makes the microstructure more refined. Nano-Al 2 O 3 and nano-ZrO 2 could both help to give increased hardness. Transverse rupture strength is higher if the above nano-oxides are doped appropriately, whereas excess addition is deleterious. Abrasive wear resistance presents different variations with respect to increasing nano-Al 2 O 3 and nano-ZrO 2 . By contrast, increasing nano-ZrO 2 enhances the abrasive wear resistance more effectively than increasing nano-Al 2 O 3 . The influence of the two nano-oxides contents on the abrasive wear resistance does not almost vary with wear time, and the optimum addition level of nano-Al 2 O 3 in WC-8% Co cemented carbide is 0.3 wt.% from the stand of abrasive wear resistance. In addition, both of the nano-oxides can retard the increase of wear rate in long-term abrasive wear.
