Clinical Trial of Measles and Rubella Combined Vaccine Produced by POLYVAC in Vietnam

A clinical trial of measles and rubella combined vaccine (MR: MRVAC) produced by POLYVAC was conducted in Vietnam in 2016. A total of 756 subjects were enrolled, and 504 were allocated to MRVAC and 252 to control MR vaccine groups. Paired sera were obtained in 733, and the number of subjects was 403 aged 1 - 2 years, 164 aged 2 - 18 years, and 166 aged 18 - 45 years. Antibodies against measles and rubella viruses were evaluated by EIA. Most subjects had been immunized with a single dose of Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) measles vaccine at 9 months of age. Only 41 of 403 subjects aged 1 - 2 years were negative for measles antibody before vaccination, and all became seroconverted. A serological response of more than a 2-fold increase against measles was noted in 214 (47%, 95% CI;42.4% - 51.6%) of 458 initially seropositive individuals immunized with MRVAC and 65 (28%, 95% CI;22.3% - 33.8%) of 234 in the control group, and geometric mean titer (GMT) after vaccination was 25.49-5.60 in MRVAC and 25.03-5.24 in control group. Seroconversion against rubella virus after immunization with MRVAC was noted in 267 (98.5%, 95% CI;97.1% - 100%) of 271 initially seronegative subjects, similar to that after immunization with control group. GMT after immunization with MRVAC was 24.88-5.11 significantly lower than that after immunization with control vaccine (25.59-5.80). Most subject ≥ 2 years of age had rubella antibody because of MR vaccination campaign and no significant serological response was observed in initially seronegatives. MRVAC was highly immunogenic and safe vaccine and the domestic production of MR vaccine would contribute to realizing the goal of eliminating measles and rubella.

钢筋混凝土结构是公路桥梁最常采用的结构形式之一,由于材料性能的不断裂化和后期维修养护的不及时,大量钢筋混凝土桥梁出现了不同程度,各种各样的病害,严重危及着桥梁结构的安全。而桥梁下部结构,特别是桥墩的病害对整个桥梁安全的影响至关重要。世界各国学者针对桥墩的病害处理和加固开展了广泛的研究,提出了大量的加固处理方法,这些方法基于不同角度和不同材料,起到了提高桥墩承载力和耐久性的目的。然而,下部结构的加固处理的研究并没得到良好的解决,依然吸引着众多学者在此领域持续开展研究。PUFA复合材料是近年来新开发的一种环保型复合材料,具有强度高,质量轻,与混凝土主动粘合以及耐久性好等诸多优点,逐渐被研究应用于桥梁加固领域。本论文的主要内容就是针对圆柱形钢筋混凝土桥墩的常见病害,使用新型复合材料PUFA进行加固,通过试验和数值仿真计算,研究新型复合材料PUFA对圆柱形钢筋混凝土桥墩的加固的实际效果。论文设计了PUFA加固钢筋混凝土桥墩的试验试件,开展了相应的静力荷载试验,采集了相关数据并进行了相应分析。同时采用大型有限元分析软件ABAQUS数值仿真分析了试验过程,数值仿真结果与试验结果吻合良好。试验和数值仿真结果表明,PUFA材料可以显著提高钢筋混凝土桥墩的承载力和变形能力,并且试验中,PUFA与混凝土结合良好,未出现界面剥离现象。论文最后基于试验结果,推导了PUFA材料加固桥墩承载力的设计公式以及设计方法。论文研究成果可为工程应用提供参考。

Beach Profiles Characteristics Along Giao Thuy and Hai Hau Coasts,Vietnam:A Field Study

Giao Thuy and Hai Hau coasts are located in Nam dinh province, Vietnam, with a total coastline of 54.42 km in length. The sea-dike system has been seriously damaged and there have been many dike breaches which caused floods and losses. This situation is considered of a general representative for coastal area in the northern part of Vietnam. A variety of studies have shown that the gradient in the longshore sediment transport rate and the offshore fine sediment lost are the main mechanisms causing the beach erosion. This study presents a field investigation of the beach profiles at Giao Thuy and Hai Hau beaches. Three types of empirical functions for the equilibrium beach profile are applied and compared with the observations. Results show that all observed beach profiles can be described by a single function. However, one specific equilibrium profile equation is not sufficient to assess all beach profiles. In Section 1 of Giao Thuy and Section 3 of Hai Thinh beaches, beach profiles are consistent with the logarithmic function, while the exponential function fits well in Section 2. This difference is explained with respect to coastal morphology, sediment characteristics and hydrodynamic conditions which vary in site. An analysis of the validity of the beach profile functions is recommended for the numerical modeling and engineering designs in this area.

This paper presents the results of research on the application of inverter in the grid connected solar photovoltaics (PV) system. The main content of the article is to control the three-phase grid connected inverter to meet the requirement of controlling the reactive power to zero at a node of the distribution network while maximizing the active power transmitted to the grid. The control circuits are synthesized on the dq coordinate system and verified on the simulation model by Matlab/Simulink. Both simulation and experimental prototype on 5 kW inverter, being connected to low voltage grid, have been built to show the good results and the practical readiness for implementation.

We report on the synthesis of Sn-doped hematite nanoparticles(Sn-α-Fe_(2)O_(3) NPs)by the hydrothermal *** prepared Sn-α-Fe_(2)O_(3) NPs had a highly pure and well crystalline rhombohedral phase with an average particle size of 41.4 *** optical properties of as-synthesizedα-Fe_(2)O_(3) NPs show a higher bandgap energy(2.40-2.57 eV)than that of pure bulkα-Fe_(2)O_(3)(2.1 eV).By doping Sn intoα-Fe_(2)O_(3) NPs,the Sn-doped hematite was observed a redshift toward a long wavelength with in-creasing Sn concentration from 0%to 4.0%.The photocatalytic activity of Sn-dopedα-Fe_(2)O_(3) NPs was evaluated by Congo red(CR)dye *** degradation efficiency of CR dye using Sn-α-Fe_(2)O_(3) NPs catalyst is higher than that of pureα-Fe_(2)O_(3) *** highest degradation efficiency of CR dye was 97.8%using 2.5%Sn-dopedα-Fe_(2)O_(3) NPs catalyst under visible-light *** results suggest that the synthesized Sn-dopedα-Fe_(2)O_(3) nanoparticles might be a suitable approach to develop a photocatalytic degradation of toxic inorganic dye in wastewater.

Induction of Anthracnose Disease Resistance on Chili Fruit by Treatment of Oligochitosan—Nanosilica Hybrid Material

Oligochitosan (OC) with molecular weight Mw of 5000 g/mol was prepared by gamma Co-60 ray irradiation of chitosan solution. Nanosilica (nSiO2) with the size of 10 - 30 nm was synthesized by calcination of acid treated rice husk. The mixture of 1% OC - 1% nSiO2 was prepared by dispersion of nSiO2 in OC solution. The morphology of nSiO2 in the mixture of OC-nSiO2 was measured from images of transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The effect of foliar application of the mixture of OC-nSiO2 on the induction of resistance against anthracnose disease caused by Colletotrichum gloeosporioides fungus on chili fruits was investigated. Results indicated that foliar application of OC-nSiO2 with the concentration of 60 mg/l - 60 mg/l was found to be as the optimal treatment that reduced the disease severity on chili fruits to 22.2% compared with 90.0% of the control. Thus, OC-nSiO2 hybrid material could be considered as an effective biotic elicitor to prevent anthracnose disease infection for chili fruits. Furthermore, the prepared OC-nSiO2 hybrid material can also be used as an environmentally friendly agrochemical product for sustainable development of agriculture.

越南李朝汉喃碑文是与当时社会历史文化相关的罕见珍贵资料。因此,许多学者对李朝的碑文进行过介绍与研究。然而,由于时间过长,而且不少的碑文被重新铭刻,或以新建之碑记录原有的碑文内容,这给研究碑文上的材料带来了很大的障碍。本文在概括越南李朝的碑文概况及碑文版本特点的基础上,对现已发现的李朝19篇碑文和其中的一些特定碑文资料进行鉴定,以避免在研究当时的社会历史文化时因为使用该资料而产生的混淆,并由此进一步挖掘李朝碑文的历史价值。

Studies on the Combination of Some Selected Microorganisms for Biodegradation of Cassava Peel Wastes （Manihot Esculenta）

Cassava peel has a lot of nutrients which can be utilized as fertilizer in agriculture. However, high cellulose contents may cause difficulty for organic digestion and slow down the nutrient absorption for plants. This study aims to reach the microorganisms or their combination for biodegradating the cassava peel waste. The initial result shows that after 21 days the glucose concentration in all samples was the highest during experiment times. The reducing glucose produced in mg/mL by the selected bacteria was 9.32, higher than the selected fungie of 1.57 mg/mL. The percentage degradation of cassava peel weigh was the highest for fungi which was 52% of weigh, respectively. Meanwhile, bacteria only degradated about 31.6% after 4 weeks. However, the combination between bacteria and fungi provides the highest glucose concentration, 19.29 mg/mL and digests 62% of the mass cassava in experiment. This study suggests that biodegradation of agro-wastes in the environment to reduce biomass waste pollution is very promising.
