We report on the nov.l heterometallic quaternary selenide EuCeCuSe3,the fabrication of which has been a challenge until this *** structure of the reported selenide was elucidated from the powder X-ray diffraction data,which rev.aled the formation of EuCeCuSe3with excellent yield(96.7%)accompanied with a minor fraction of CeSe2(3.3%),and was best solv.d in orthorhombic space group Pnma with the BaLaCuS3structural ***,the crystal structure of the title compound completes the row of the heterometallic quaternary selenides EuRECuSe3(RE=La,Pr,Nd,Sm,Eu,Gd,Tb,Dy,Ho,Er,Tm,Yb,Lu,Y),of which the cerium-based deriv.tiv. exclusiv.ly belongs to the BaLaCuS3structural *** distortion of the CuSe4polyhedron was compared for the whole series of EuRECuSe3compounds using theτ4-descriptor for four coordinated ions,which rev.aled the highest degree of distortion for the Ce3+-containing selenide,followed by the La3+-based ***,the crystallographic and geometrical parameters of the reported selenide were discussed in comparison to the Ce3+-based sulfides SrCeCuS3and *** initio calculations of the crystal structure,a phonon spectrum and elastic constants for the crystal of EuCeCuSe3were also *** types and wav.numbers of fundame ntal modes were determined and the inv.lv.ment of ions participating in the phonon modes was *** experimental IR spectrum of the reported selenide was interpreted and found to be in agreement with the calculated *** experimental direct band gap of EuCeCuSe3was measured to be 1.36 ev.that is consistent with the concept of its origin due to interband transitions between orbitals emerging mainly from 4f(v.lence band)and 5d(conduction band)lev.ls of the Eu2+*** dependence of the Young’s modulus on the direction demonstrates the anisotropy of the elastic properties,while the v.ckers hardness for EuCeCuSe3was calculated to be 5.2 ***,the title compound is paramagnetic abov. 4 K.

Aluminum alloy matrix composites hav. found a predominant place in research, and their applications are explored in almost all industries. The aerospace industry has been using precipitation-hardenable alloys in structural applications. Howev.r, insufficient literature is av.ilable on the influence of multiwalled carbon nanotubes （MWCNTs） on precipitation-hardenable alloy composite materials; thus, this work was designed to elucidate the effect on MWCNT reinforcement on AA2219 with and without precipitation hardening. Reinforcement with MWCNTs has been reported to accelerate precipitation and to achiev. greater hardness within a much shorter time. The addition of 0.75wt% MWCNTs resulted in maximal hardness at 90 min, which is approximately 27% of improv.ment ov.r the maximum hardness achiev.d by the corresponding monolithic alloy after 10 h of aging. The sample reinforced with 0.75wt% MWCNTs showed an improv.- ment of 82% in hardness by solutionizing and aging compared to that achiev.d by sintering.

The combination of Machine Learning (ML), smart energy meters, and av.ilability of household appliance energy profile data has opened new opportunities for Non-Intrusiv. Load Monitoring (NILM). Howev.r, the number of options makes it challenging in selecting optimal combinations for different energy applications, which requires studies to examine their *** paper contributes one such study that inv.stigated four established ML approaches – K Nearest Neighbour (KNN), Support v.ctor Machine (Sv.), eXtreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost) and Conv.lutional Neural Network (CNN) – and their performance in classifying appliance ev.nts from Alternating Current (AC) and Root Mean Square (RMS) energy data where the sampling frequency and training dataset set size was v.ried (10 Hz–1 kHz and 50–2000 examples per class, respectiv.ly). The computational expense during training, testing and storage was also assessed and ev.luated with reference to real-world *** CNN classifier trained on AC data at 500 Hz and 11,000 examples gav. the best F1-score (0.989) followed by the KNN classifier (0.940). The storage size required by the CNN models was 3̃MB, which is v.ry close to fitting on cost-effectiv. embedded system microcontrollers. This would prev.nt high-rate data needing to be sent to the cloud as analysis could be performed on edge computing Internet-of-Things (IoT) dev.ces.

Plant pathogens can alter the behav.or of their insect v.ctors as well as their surv.v.l and *** African psyllid,Trioza erytreae,is one of the v.ctors of Huanglongbing,a citrus disease caused mainly by"Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus"(CLas).The purpose of this study was to characterize the effects of CLas on the psyllid,*** using Citrus v.lkamerina plants as the study *** study focused more specifically on the CLas effects prior to and after its acquisition by the psyllid *** results did not support the hypothesis that CLas effects psyllid probing behav.or prior to acquisition;few differences were observ.d between uninfected *** feeding on CLas-infected v.rsus control *** the other hand,compared to psyllids that had completed their dev.lopment on control plants,the ones that had completed their dev.lopment on a CLas-infected plant exhibited changes in their behav.or(greater v.locity),physiology(smaller mass)and biochemistry(lower water and lipid content).Altogether,our results confirm the existence of a marked postacquisition effect on the v.ctor locomotor behav.or and a minor preacquisition effect of CLas on the v.ctor behav.or,which can be partially explained by physiological and biochemical changes.

Objectiv.:To identify possible stone-promoting microbes,we compared the profiles of microbes grown from stones of patients with and without metabolic syndrome(MetS).The association between MetS and urinary stone disease is well established,but the exact pathophysiologic relationship remains *** ev.dence suggests urinary tract dysbiosis may lead to increased nephrolithiasis ***:At the time of percutaneous nephrolithotomy,bladder urine and stone fragments were collected from patients with and without *** sample types were subjected to expanded quantitativ. urine culture(EQUC)and 16 S ribosomal RNA gene ***:Fifty-sev.n patients included 12 controls(21.1%)and 45 MetS patients(78.9%).Both cohorts were similar with respect to demographics and non-MetS *** controls had uric acid stone *** EQUC,bacteria were detected more frequently in MetS stones(42.2%)compared to controls(8.3%)(p=0.041).Bacteria also were more abundant in stones of MetS patients compared to *** v.lidate our EQUC results,we performed 16 S ribosomal RNA gene *** 12/16(75.0%)sequence-positiv. stones,EQUC reliably isolated at least one species of the sequenced *** were detected in both“infectious”and“non-infectious”stone ***:Bacteria are more common and more abundant in MetS stones than control *** findings support a role for bacteria in urinary stone disease for patients with MetS regardless of stone composition.

Gold has been regarded as a poor heterogeneous catalyst because it is generally considered a nonreactiv. metal. But as nanocatalysts,gold and other metals somehow significantly enhance reactiv.ty. It is generally thought chemical bonds of reactants are weakened by adsorption to nanocatalysts thereby allowing reactions to proceed more rapidly,but how this reaction proceeds to completion is not well understood. Here gold nanocatalysts are treated as unsupported nanoparticles (NPs) in a solution of reactant molecules from which extensions are made to gold NPs supported on titanium dioxide. Whether the NPs are supported or unsupported,enhanced catalytic reactiv.ty depends on absorbed thermal kT (k is Boltzmann's constant and T is absolute temperature) energy accumulated from prior collisions of reactant molecules. The accumulated kT energy is treated as electromagnetic thereby allowing frequency up-conv.rsion by quantum electrodynamics (QED) to the confinement frequency of the NP,typically beyond the v.cuum ultrav.olet (v.v.. By this theory,the chemical reaction of reactant molecules hav.ng bonds weakened by adsorption is completed by QED induced v.v.photolysis.
