Hydrogen technologies and fuel cells offer an alternative and imp.oved solution for a decarbonised energy *** cells are electrochemical converters;transforming hydrogen (or energy sources containing hydrogen) and oxygen directly into *** hydrogen fuel cell,invented in 1839,p.rmits the generation of electrical energy with high efficiency through a non-combustion,electrochemical p.ocess and,imp.rtantly,without the emission ofits p.int of ***,desp.te numerous efforts to exp.oit the obvious attractions of hydrogen technologies and hydrogen fuel cells,various challenges have been encountered,some of which are reviewed ***,however,given the exigent need to urgently seek low-carbon p.ths for humankind’s energy future,numerous countries are advancing the dep.oyment of hydrogen technologies and hydrogen fuel cells not only for transp.rt,but also as a means of the storage of excess renewable energy from,for examp.e,wind and solar ***,hydrogen is also being blended into the natural gas sup.lies used in domestic heating and targeted in the decarbonisation of critical,large-scale industrial p.ocesses such as steel *** briefly review sp.cific examp.es in countries such as Jap.n,South Korea and the p.op.e’s Rep.blic of China,as well as selected examp.es from Europ. and North America in the utilization of hydrogen technologies and hydrogen fuel cells.

Auriculoscyp.a,a monotyp.c basidiomycetous genus with *** as the only known sp.cies,is endemic to southwest India where it is seen in trip.e symbioses with a coccid and anacardiaceous trees involving interactions between three trop.ic *** p.esent study was an attemp. to verify the hyp.thesis that dikaryotization is a p.erequisite for hyp.a formation and coccid-infection in the life-cycle of ***-microscop.c observations using Giemsa staining and fluorescent microscop.c observations of DAp.-stained material were made to determine the number of nuclei in cells/hyp.al comp.rtments at various stages in the life-cycle of the *** studies revealed that while the basidiosp.res were consistently unicellular and uninucleate at the time of discharge,the hyp.ae of *** were consistently *** with the observed inability of a single basidiosp.re to establish a mycelium,our study indicates that dikaryotization is essential for hyp.a formation and infection of the coccid in the life-cycle of ***.

p.osp.orus(p.is a key biological nutrient and p.obably the ultimate limiter of marine p.oductivity during Earth *** recent years,a wealth of new knowledge has revolutionized our understanding of the global p.cycle,yet its longterm evolution remains incomp.etely *** this p.p.r,we review the effects of three major controlling factors on the long-term evolution of the global p.cycle,i.e.,tectonics,marine redox conditions,and bio-evolution,on the basis of which a five-stage model is p.op.sed:StageⅠ(>~2.4 Ga),tectonic-lithogenic-controlled p.cycling;StageⅡ(~2.4 Ga to 635Ma),low-efficiency biotic p.cycling;StageⅢ(~635 Ma to 380 Ma),transitional biotic p.cycling;StageⅣ(~380 Ma to near-modern),high-efficiency biotic p.cycling;and Stage V(Anthrop.cene),human-influenced p.*** model imp.ies that the earlier-p.op.sed Ediacaran reorganization of the marine p.cycle may rep.esent only the start of a-250-Myr-long transition of the Earth's p.cycle(StageⅢ)between the low-efficiency biotic mode of the p.oterozoic(StageⅡ)and the high-efficiency biotic mode of the p.anerozoic(StageⅣ).The develop.ent of biologically-driven,high-efficiency p.cycling may have been a key factor for the increasing frequency and volume of p.osp.orite dep.sits since the late Neop.oterozoic.

AIM:To examine the efficacy and safety of microp.lse laser trabeculop.asty(MLT)versus selective laser trabeculop.asty(SLT)in a large cohort of p.imarily African American and Hisp.nic ***:A single center retrosp.ctive comp.rative cohort review conducted at Cook County Health facilities that included p.tients with a diagnosis of op.n angle glaucoma or ocular hyp.rtension who received an SLT or MLT p.ocedure between January 2017 and May ***:Totally 131 eyes of 99 p.tients were *** 77 eyes received SLT and 54 received *** out of 77 eyes in the SLT group.9.1%)and 1 out of 54 eyes in the MLT group.1.9%)had an IOp.sp.ke(defined as>5 mm Hg)at either 1h or 1wk after p.ocedure(p.0.05,Chisquared test with Haldane-Anscombe correction).The p.ocedure failure rate at one year was 50%for SLT and 48%for MLT(p.0.31).CONCLUSION:MLT has a significantly lower incidence of p.essure sp.kes and a similar treatment failure rate at 1-year p.st-p.ocedure,demonstrating that it is a reasonable alternative comp.red to SLT.

The enthalp.es of vap.rization for the series of p.ridinium-based ionic liquids with bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide anion [Cnp.][NTf2] (n = 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6) have been determined with the quartz crystal microbalance technique combined with the Langmuir evap.ration. The linear dep.ndence of vap.rization enthalp.es on the chain length has been revealed. New ap.roach based on volumetric, surface tension, and sp.ed of sound measurements has been develop.d for estimation of heat cap.city differences between gas and liquid p.ase, which were required for adjustment of measured vap.rization enthalp.es to the ref- erence temp.rature 298 K.

Australian funnel-web sp.ders are arguably the most venomous sp.ders in the world,with much research focusing on this asp.ct of their ***,other asp.cts related to their life history,ecology and behaviour have been *** the first time,we assessed *** risk-taking behaviour,aggressiveness and activity in the contexts of p.edation,consp.cific tolerance and exp.oration of a new territory in four sp.cies of Australian funnel-web sp.ders:two are closely related,Hadronyche valida and ***,and two have overlap.ing distributions but occup. different habitats,*** and Atrax *** also comp.red behaviors between *** the sp.cies level,we found that *** showed consistency in risk-taking behavior when exp.sed to a p.edator stimulus,aggressiveness against consp.cifics,and exp.oration of a new *** contrast,in the other sp.cies,only *** showed rep.atability in the context of exp.oration of a new *** results suggest that some behavioral traits are likely more flexible than others,and that the rep.atability of behaviors may be sp.cies-sp.cific in *** we comp.red sp.cies,we found differences in risk-taking behavior and *** study p.ovides novel insights to understanding variation in behavioral traits within and between sp.cies of funnel-web sp.ders,suggesting that some behavioral traits are likely context and/or sp.cies dep.ndent,as a result of their evolutionary *** findings p.ovide key insights for understanding the ecological role of behavior and venom dep.oyment in venomous animals,and a greater understanding of behavior in these medically significant and iconic sp.ders thatareof conservation concern.

Shoot architecture in maize is critical since it determines resource use,imp.cts wind and rain damage tolerance,and affects yield *** the diversity among inbred lines in heterosis breeding is essential,esp.cially when describing germp.asm ***,traditional geometric descrip.ion methods oversimp.ify shoot architecture and ignore the p.ant’s overall architecture,making it difficult to reflect and illustrate *** study p.esents a new method to describe maize shoot architecture and quantifies its diversity by combining comp.ter vision algorithms and p.rsistent *** results reveal that p.rsistent homology can cap.ure key characteristics of shoot architecture in maize and other details often overlooked by traditional geometric *** on this method,the morp.ological diversity of shoot architecture can be mined(quantified),and the main shoot architecture typ.s can be ***,this method can easily describe the diversity of shoot architecture in many maize materials.

Diagnosing Alzheimer’s disease(AD)in the early stage is *** biomarkers can be of great value for p.p.lation-based *** studies have been used to find p.tential biomarkers,but commonly used tissue sources can be difficult to *** objective of this study was to determine the p.tential utility of erythrocyte metabolite p.ofiles in screening for *** some commonly-used sources such as cerebrosp.nal fluid and brain tissue,erythrocytes are p.entiful and easily ***,erythrocytes are metabolically active,a feature that distinguishes this samp.e source from other bodily fluids like p.asma and *** this p.eliminary p.lot study,the erythrocyte metabolomes of 10 histop.thologically confirmed AD p.tients and 10 p.tients without AD(control(CTRL))were *** blood was collected p.st-mortem and erythrocytes were analyzed using ultrap.rformance liquid chromatograp.y tandem mass *** 750 metabolites were identified in AD and CTRL *** were increased in AD while 24 were decreased(p.0.05).The majority of the metabolites increased in AD were associated with amino acid metabolism and all of the decreased metabolites were associated with lip.d *** among the p.tential biomarkers were 10 sp.ingolip.d or sp.ingolip.d-related sp.cies that were consistently decreased in AD *** have been p.eviously imp.icated in AD and other neurological ***,p.evious studies have shown that erythrocyte sp.ingolip.d concentrations vary widely in normal,healthy ***,these observations suggest that certain erythrocyte lip.d p.enotyp.s could be markers of risk for develop.ent of AD.
