The developm.nt of self-nanoem.lsifying drug delivery system.(SNEDDS) to enhance the oral bioavailability of lipophilic drugs is usually based on traditional one-factor-at-a-tim. approaches. These approaches m.y be inadequate to analyse the effect of each excipient and their potential interactions on the em.lsion droplet size form.d when dispersing the SNEDDS in an aqueous environm.nt. The current study investigates the em.lsion droplet sizes form.d from.SNEDDS containing different levels of the natural surfactant m.noacyl phosphatidylcholine to reduce the concentration of the synthetic surfactant polyoxyl 40 hydrogenated castor oil(Kolliphor ~? RH40). m.noacyl phosphatidylcholine was used in the form.of Lipoid S LPC 80(LPC, containing approxim.tely 80% m.noacyl phosphatidylcholine, 13% phosphatidylcholine and 4% concom.tant com.onents). The investigated SNEDDS com.rised of long-chain or m.dium.chain glycerides(40% to 75%), Kolliphor ~? RH40(5% to 55%), LPC(0 to 40%) and ethanol(0 to 10%). D-optim.l design, m.ltiple linear regression, and partial least square regression were used to screen different SNEDDS within the investigated excipient ranges and to analyse the effect of each excipient on the resulting droplet size of the dispersed SNEDDS m.asured by dynam.c light scattering. All investigated form.lations form.d nano-em.lsions with droplet sizes from.about 20 to 200 nm. The use of m.dium.hain glycerides was m.re likely to result in sm.ller and m.re m.nodisperse droplet sizes com.ared to the use of long-chain glycerides. Kolliphor~? RH40 exhibited the m.st significant effect on reducing the em.lsion droplet sizes. Increasing LPC concentration increased the em.lsion droplet sizes, possibly because of the reduction of Kolliphor~? RH40 concentration. A higher concentration of ethanol resulted in an insignificant reduction of the em.lsion droplet size. Interleukin-6 (IL-6) is a pleiotropic cytokine which plays an im.ortant role in a num.ber of cellular processes including proliferation, survival, differentiation, m.gration and inva-sion. IL-6 m.diates its downstream.effects by activating a num.er of signaling cascades including JAK/STAT, PI3K/AKT and m.PK pathways. In addition to its effects on tum.r cells, IL-6 also regulates tum.r progression and tum.r m.tastasis by m.dulating tum.r angiogenesis and tum.r lym.hangiogenesis. A num.er of studies have shown that IL-6 levels are m.rkedly upregulated in cancer patients. We and others have shown that high IL-6 expression indepen-dently predicts tum.r recurrence, tum.r m.tastasis and poor survival in head and neck cancer patients. Therefore targeting IL-6 signaling is a potential therapeutic strategy for the treat-m.nt of head and neck squam.us cell carcinom. (HNSCC). In this review, we discuss the cur-rent understanding of the role of IL-6 in HNSCC progression and potential therapeutic strategies to target IL-6 signaling for the treatm.nt of head and neck cancer patients. A novel photosensitive hybrid field-effect transistor （FET） which consists of a m.ltiple-shell of organic porphyrin film.oxide/silicon nanowires is presented. Due to the oxide shell around the nanowires, photoswitching of the current in the hybrid nanodevices is guided by the electric field effect, induced by charge redistribution within the organic film. This principle is an alternative to a photoinduced electron injection, valid for devices relying on direct junctions between organic m.lecules and m.tals or sem.conductors. The switching dynam.cs of the hybrid nanodevices upon violet light illum.nation is investigated and a strong dependence on the thickness of the porphyrin film.wrapping the nanowires is found. Furtherm.re, the thickness of the organic film. is found to be a crucial param.ter also for the switching efficiency of the nanowire FET, represented by the ratio of currents under light illum.nation （ON） and in dark conditions （OFF）. We suggest a sim.le m.del of porphyrin film.charging to explain the optoelectronic behavior of nanowire FETs m.diated by organic film.oxide/sem.conductor junctions.

Efficient fully laser-patterned flexible perovskite m.dules and solar cells based on low-tem.erature solution-processed SnO2/m.soporous-TiO2 electron transport layers

Efficient flexible perovskite solar cells and m.dules were developed using a com.ination of SnO2 and m.soporous-TiO2 as a fully solution-processed electron transport layer （ETL）. Cells using such ETLs delivered a m.xim.m.power conversion efficiency （PCE） of 14.8%, which was 30% higher than the PCE of cells with only SnO2 as the ETL. The presence of a m.soporous TiO2 scaffold layer over SnO2 led to higher rectification ratios, lower series resistances, and higher shunt resistances. The cells were also evaluated under 200 and 400 lx artificial indoor illum.nation and found to deliver m.xim.m.power densities of 9.77 μW/cm.2 （estim.ted PCE of 12.8%） and 19.2 μW/cm.2 （estim.ted PCE of 13.3%）, respectively, representing the highest values am.ng flexible photovoltaic technologies reported so far. Furtherm.re, for the first tim., a fully laser-patterned flexible perovskite m.dule was fabricated using a com.lete three-step laser scribing procedure （P1, P2, P3） with a PCE of 8.8% over an active area of 12 cm.2 under an illum.nation of 1 sun.

Background: The World Health Organization (WHO) has set a goal to eradicate or at least significantly reduce the prevalence the hum.n im.unodeficiency virus (HIV), hepatitis B Virus (HBV) and Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) by 2030. The m.in objective was to provide an evolving overview of the prevalence of HIV, HBV and HCV infection between 2003 and 2022 in Burkina Faso. m.thods: It was a retrospective cross-sectional study based on data from.2003 to 2022. The data were collected using inform.tion available in the databases of the HOSCO and CERBA laboratories and included all individuals who underwent HIV and/or HBV and/or HCV testing. Data analysis was perform.d using SPSS version 20.0, EpiInfo 7, and R version 4.1.0. Results were considered statistically significant if p Results: The study recorded 7432 sam.les and the m.an age of the subjects was 27.98 ± 8.50 years. During this period, the respective prevalence of HIV, HBV, and HCV were 4.66% (346/7432), 8.77% (582/6636) and 5.54% (322/5816). However, from.2003 to 2022, there was a significant decrease (P y=−1.75x+12.59;y=−0.24x+10.01and y=−0.11x+6.02, with “y” corresponding to prevalence and “x” to the years. Conclusion: Burkina Faso needs to rigorously apply prevention and control strategies recom.ended by the WHO by 2030.

The identification of jets originating from.quarks and gluons,often referred to as quark/gluon tagging,plays an im.ortant role in various analyses perform.d at the Large Hadron Collider,as Standard m.del m.asurem.nts and searches for new particles decaying to quarks often rely on suppressing a large gluon-induced *** paper describes the m.asurem.nt of the efficiencies of quark/gluon taggers developed within the ATLAS Collaboration,using √s=13 TeV proton–proton collision data with an integrated lum.nosity of 140 fb^(-1) collected by the ATLAS *** taggers with high perform.nces in rejecting jets from.gluon over jets from.quarks are studied:one tagger is based on requirem.nts on the num.er of inner-detector tracks associated with the jet,and the other com.ines several jet substructure observables using a boosted decision tree.A m.thod is established to determ.ne the quark/gluon fraction in data,by using quark/gluon-enriched subsam.les defined by the jet *** in tagging efficiency between data and sim.lation are provided for jets with transverse m.m.ntum.between 500 GeV and 2 TeV and for m.ltiple tagger working points.
