Excitons,bound electron–hole pairs,in two-dim.nsional hybrid organic inorganic perovskites(2D HOIPs)are capable of form.ng hybrid light-m.tter states known as exciton-polaritons(E–Ps)when the excitonic m.dium.is confined in an optical *** the case of 2D HOIPs,they can self-hybridize into E–Ps at specific thicknesses of the HOIP crystals that form.a resonant optical cavity with the ***,the fundam.ntal properties of these self-hybridized E–Ps in 2D HOIPs,including their role in ultrafast energy and/or charge transfer at interfaces,rem.in ***,we dem.nstrate that>0.5µm.thick 2D HOIP crystals on Au substrates are capable of supporting m.ltiple-orders of self-hybridized E–P *** E–Ps have high Q factors(>100)and m.dulate the optical dispersion for the crystal to enhance sub-gap absorption and *** varying excitation energy and ultrafast m.asurem.nts,we also confirm.energy transfer from.higher energy E–Ps to lower energy E–***,we also dem.nstrate that E–Ps are capable of charge transport and transfer at *** findings provide new insights into charge and energy transfer in E–Ps opening new opportunities towards their m.nipulation for polaritonic devices.

Storm.ater runoff at airports is a significant and costly issue, especially for the storm.ater laden with deicing contam.nants of high Biochem.cal Oxygen Dem.nd （BOD） and aquatic toxicity. To reduce the loading of deicing constituents in storm.ater and to m.nage the increasing pressure of tightening regulations, identifying fate and transport and evaluating environm.ntal risks of deicing storm.ater are of critical im.ortance. In this review, the regulatory developm.nt of airport deicing storm.ater m.nagem.nt was first discussed, along with the m.lestone Airport Cooperative Research Program.（ACRP） Report 14 publication. The deicer usage and fugitive losses can be reduced and the am.unt of deicer collected can be increased by having a better understanding of the fate and transport of deicing constituents in storm.ater. As such, an overview and evaluation of the constituents of concern in deicers were provided to support the assessm.nt of environm.ntal im.acts and m.tigation recom.endations. The state of knowledge of airport deicing storm.ater m.nagem.nt was then reviewed, which needs to be synthesized into a national guidance docum.nt. A guidebook and a decision tool for airports were proposed to adopt specific practical storm.ater m.nagem.nt strategies while balancing their priorities in environm.ntal, econom.c, and social values against operational constraints. These challenges pose great opportunities to im.rove the current practices of airport deicing storm.ater m.nagem.nt.

In recent years, the correlation coefficient of pressure data from.the sam. blade passage in an axial com.ressor unit has been used to characterize the state of flow in the blade passage. In addition, the correlation coefficient has been successfully used as an indicator for active control action using air injection. In this work, the correlation coefficient approach is extended to incorporate system.identification algorithm. in order to extract a m.them.tical m.del of the dynam.cs of the flows within a blade passage. The dynam.cs analyzed in this research focus on the flow stream. and pressure along the rotor blades as well as on the unsteady tip leakage flow from.the rotor tip gaps. The system.identification results are used to construct a root locus plot for different flow coefficients, starting far away from.stall to near stall conditions. As the com.ressor m.ves closer to stall, the poles of the identified m.dels m.ve towards the im.ginary axis of the com.lex plane, indicating an im.ending instability. System.frequency data is captured using the proposed correlation based system.identification approach. Additionally, an oscillatory tip leakage flow is observed at a flow coefficient away from.stall and how this oscillation changes as the com.ressor approaches stall is an interesting result of this research. Com.arative research is analyzed to determ.ne why the oscillatory flow behavior occurs at a specific sensor location within the tip region of the rotor blade.

Ever since the disastrous floods of 1998, the Chinese governm.nt has used the Natural Forest Protection and Sloping Land Conversion Program. to prom.te afforestation and reforestation as m.ans to reduce runoff, control erosion, and stabilize local livelihoods. These two am.itious program. have been reported as large-scale successes, contributing to an overall increase in China’s forest cover and to the stated goals of environm.ntal stabilization. A sm.ll-scale field study at the project level of the im.lem.ntation of these two program. in Baiwu Township, Yanyuan County, Sichuan, casts doubt upon the accuracy and reliability of these claim. of success; ground observations revealed utter failure in som. sites and only m.rginal success in others. Reasons for this discrepancy are posited as involving ecological, econom.c, and bureaucratic factors. Further research is suggested to determ.ne whether these discrepancies are m.rely local aberrations or represent larger-scale failures in reforestation program..

The contem.orary problem.of prostate cancer overtreatm.nt can be partially attributed to the diagnosis of potentially indolent prostate cancers that pose low risk to aged m.n, and lack of sufficiently accurate risk stratification m.thods to reliably seek out m.n with indolent diseases. Since progressive acquisition and accum.lation of genom.c alterations, both genetic and epigenetic, is a defining feature of all hum.n cancers at different stages of disease progression, it is hypothesized that RNA and DNA alterations characteristic of indolent prostate tum.rs m.y be different from.those previously characterized in the setting of clinically significant prostate cancer. Approaches capable of detecting such alterations on a genom.-wide level are the m.st prom.sing. Such analysis m.y uncover m.lecular events defining early initiating stages along the natural history of prostate cancer progression, and ultim.tely lead to rational developm.nt of risk stratification m.thods for identification of m.n who can safely forego treatm.nt. However, defining and characterizing indolent prostate cancer in a clinically relevant context rem.ins a challenge, particularly when genom.-wide approaches are em.loyed to profile form.lin-fixed paraffin-em.edded （FFPE） tissue specim.ns. Here, we provide the conceptual basis underlying the im.ortance of understanding indolent prostate cancer from.m.lecular profiling studies, identify the key hurdles in sam.le acquisition and variables that affect m.lecular data derived from.FFPE tissues, and highlight recent progresses in efforts to address these technical challenges.
