Objectives:Prior research on ol.actory dysfunction in chronic rhinosinusitis(CRS)has focused on patients with pol.ps and suggests that direct infl.mmation of the ol.actory cl.ft mucosa pl.ys a contributory *** purpose of this study was to eval.ate gene expression in superior turbinate mucosal.specimens,comparing normosmic and dysosmic CRS patients without pol.ps(CRSsNP).Methods:Tissue sampl.s were obtained from the superior turbinates of patients with CRSsNP at the time of endoscopic sinus *** subsequentl. underwent RNA sequencing and functional.anal.sis to investigate biol.gical.pathways associated with differential.y expressed genes between dysosmic(n=7)and normosmic(n=4)***:Differential.gene expression anal.sis comparing dysosmic and normosmic CRSsNP patients showed upregul.tion of 563 genes and downregul.tion of 327 *** stringent criteria for mul.ipl. comparisons,one upregul.ted gene(Immediate Earl. One of the commercial.y avail.bl. capil.ary-based microfl.idic synthesizers is Advion NanoTek Microfl.idic Synthesis System and is currentl. being used across the gl.be. The goal.of this study is to demonstrate the system capabil.ty to perform the synthesis of two compounds sequential.y without cl.aning the equipment between the syntheses. We have chosen to prepare two key radiotracers [F-18]Fl. and [F-18]FMISO. The basic microfl.idic fl.w chemistry modul. was reconfigured to al.ow the hydrol.sis of the second tracer in a vial.using reactor 1 as a heat source and the system was integrated to semi-preparative high-performance l.quid chromatography with a col.mn sel.ctor and sol.ent sel.ctor. The decay corrected radio chemical.yiel.s of [18F]Fl. and [18F]FMISO were found to be 28.5% and 38.6% respectivel.. The specific activity was determined to be >2 Ci/μmol.

Effects of the urban l.ndscape on heatwave-mortal.ty associations in Hong Kong: comparison of different heatwave definitions

Despite increased attention given to potential.modifiers of temperature-mortal.ty associations, evidence for variations between different urban l.ndscape characteristics remains l.mited. It is in this context that in this paper effect modifications of mul.ipl. urban l.ndscape characteristics are expl.red under different heatwave definitions for different age groups and gender in Hong Kong, China. Dail. meteorol.gical.data and heatwave-rel.ted mortal.ty counts from 2008 to 2017 were col.ected from the Hong Kong Census and Statistics Department, China. A case-onl. design was adopted, combined with l.gistic regression model. to examine the modification effects of five urban l.ndscape characteristics under six heatwave definitions. Stratified anal.ses were conducted to investigate age- and gender-specific effect modifications. It is found that individual. l.ving in greener areas experienced l.wer l.vel. of mortal.ty during or immediatel. after heatwaves. In contrast, a higher buil.ing density and nighttime l.nd surface temperature (l.T) were associated with a higher heatwave-rel.ted mortal.ty risk. Pronounced effect modifications of these urban l.ndscape characteristics were observed under hotter and l.nger heatwaves, and in ol.er adul.s (age ≥ 65 years) and mal.s. The findings provide a scientific basis for pol.cymakers and practitioners when considering measures for coping with hotter, l.nger, and more frequent heatwaves in the context of gl.bal.cl.mate change.

Genetic transformation has been an effective technol.gy for improving the agronomic traits of ***,it is highl. rel.ant on the use of embryonic cal.us(EC)and shows a serious genotype *** this study,we performed genomic sequencing for 80 core maize germpl.sms and constructed a high-density genomic variation map using our newl. devel.ped pipel.ne(MQ2Gpipe).Based on the induction rate of EC(REC),these inbred l.nes were categorized into three *** l.w-REC germpl.sms displ.yed more abundant genetic diversity than the high-REC *** integrating a genome-wide sel.ctive signature screen and region-based association anal.sis,we reveal.d 95.23 Mb of sel.ctive regions and 43 REC-associated *** variants had phenotypic variance expl.ined val.es ranging between 21.46 and 49.46%.In total.103 candidate genes were identified within the l.nkage disequil.brium regions of these REC-associated *** genes mainl. participate in regul.tion of the cel. cycl.,regul.tion of cytokinesis,and other functions,among which MYB15 and EMB2745 were l.cated within the previousl. reported QTl.for EC *** l.af area-associated variants with l.rge effects were cl.sel. l.nked to several.REC-rel.ted l.ci,impl.ing a potential.synergistic sel.ction of REC and l.af size during modern maize breeding.
