Objec.ive:To evaluate the outc.mes of generic.direc.-ac.ing antiviral treatments for c.ronic.hepatitis c.in ***:The medic.l rec.rds of 522 patients(median 45 years;Female,25.3%)with c.ronic.hepatitis c.treated at a tertiary hospital in northern Vietnam in 2016 were retrospec.ively ***:Female patients were signific.ntly older than male patients(median 52,IQR 41-59 vs.43 years,IQR:39-55;Pc.ed with hepatitis c.virus(Hc.)genotype 6,followed by 1 a(19.0%),1 b(13.0%),and 3(5.9%).c.infec.ion with hepatitis B virus or human immunodefic.enc. virus was noted in 5.8%and 3.1%of patients,*** were treated with ledipasvir/sofosbuvir with or without ribavirin(70.9%),sofosbuvir/pegylated-interferon+ribavirin(13.2%),dac.atasvir/sofosbuvir with or without ribavirin(12.5%),or sofosbuvir/ribavirin(3.4%),and 96.4%(n=503)c.mpleted the direc.-ac.ing antiviral *** patient disc.ntinued treatment due to adverse event(s).A sustained virologic.response 12 weeks after the end of the treatment(SVR12)was evaluated in 62.6%of *** sustained virologic.response 12 weeks after the end of the treatment was 98.7%regardless of Hc. genotypes or direc.-ac.ing antiviral *** severity of liver stiffness was signific.ntly dec.eased from 10.2 to 6.3 kilopasc.ls measured by transient elastography by the treatment(Pc.mpleted the direc.ac.ing antiviral treatment,17.7%returned for further follow-ups after ***:In Vietnam,the c.rrent generic.direc.-ac.ing antiviral treatment for c.ronic.hepatitis c.was effec.ive regardless of Hc. genotypes and direc.-ac.ing antiviral regimens with the attenuation of liver *** is feasible to implement direc.-ac.ing antiviral treatment to c.re c.ronic.hepatitis c.patients at any liver fibrosis stages in Vietnam.

Relationship between skin fold thic.ness and insulin resistanc. in the essential hypertensive patients in Vietnam

Bac.ground Previous studies reported a c.ose relationship between obesity and insulin resistanc. in the essential hypertensive patients. Objec.ive In this study, we examined the relationship between the skin fold thic.ness and insulin resistanc. then developed a formula to estimate the insulin resistanc. index ac.ording to the skin fold thic.ness in the essential hypertensive patients. Subjec.s and Methods Medic.l rec.rds of 80 patients (37 males, 43 females) were reviewed and the data were tabulated. Anthropometric.indexes (inc.uding height, weight, waist c.rc.mferenc., hip c.rc.mferenc., and skins fold thic.ness at 5 fatty differenc. points on the Erdheim diagram), fasting plasma gluc.se and insulin c.nc.ntration were rec.rded. The mean age was 57.0 ?9.2 years. The insulin resistanc. index was c.lc.lated following the Homeostasis Model Assessment (HOMA) formula. Results c.mpared with the group with BMI c.nc.ntration (8.85±4.97 pmol/L vs 15.60±8.70 pmol/L, Pc. index in ( 2.15±1,24 vs 3.76±2.22, Pc.nt differenc. in fasting plasma insulin c.nc.ntration, insulin resistanc. index between male and female was observed (P > 0.05). There was a positive c.rrelation between skin fold thic.ness and the fasting insulin c.nc.ntration and insulin resistanc. index. The skin fold thic.ness at point A8 had the best c.effic.ent c.rrelated with fasting plasma insulin(r=0.79, P c. index (r= 0.79, P c. index by skin fold thic.ness at point A8 as: Insulin resistanc. index = 0.12×[skin fold thic.ness at A8 point (mm)] - 1. c.nc.usion: In the essential hypertensive patients, the formula to estimate insulin resistanc. index as 0.12×[skin fold thic.ness at A8 point (mm)]-1 may predic. ac.urately the level of insulin resistanc.. Estimation of Tropic.l Forest Struc.ural c.arac.eristic. Using ALOS-2 SAR Data

The potential of ALOS-2 SAR data for the estimation of tropic.l forest struc.ural c.arac.eristic. was assessed in Vietnam by c.llec.ing forest inventory data. The effec. of polarization and seasonality of the SAR data on the estimation of forest biomass was analyzed. The c.mbination of HH, HV, and HH/HV polarizations using multiple linear regression did not improve the estimation of biomass c.mpared to using the HV c.annel independently, as the HH and HH/HV variables were not statistic.lly signific.nt. The dry season HV bac.sc.ttering intensity was highly sensitive to the biomass c.mpared to the rainy season bac.sc.ttering intensity. The SAR data ac.uired in the rainy season with humid and wet c.nopies was not very sensitive to the biomass. The strong dependenc. of the biomass estimates with the season of SAR data ac.uisition c.nfirmed that the c.oic. of right season SAR data is very important for improving the satellite based estimates of the biomass. The validation results showed that the dry season HV polarization c.uld explain 54% variation of the biomass.

Derivation of more sensitive spec.ral features from the satellite data is immensely important for better retrieving land c.ver information and c.ange monitoring, suc. as c.anges in snow c.vered area, forests, and barren lands as some examples from loc.l to the global sc.le. The major objec.ives of this paper are to present the potential of water-resistant snow index (WSI) for the detec.ion of snow c.ver c.anges in the Himalayas, extant two c.mposite images, biophysic.l image c.mposite (BIc. and forest c.ver c.mposite (Fc.) for the detec.ion of c.anges in barren lands and forested areas respec.ively, and two newly designed c.mposite images, water c.ver c.mposite (Wc.) and urban c.ver c.mposite (Uc.) for the detec.ion of c.anges in water and urban areas respec.ively. This researc. implemented the image c.mpositing tec.nique for the detec.ion and visualization of land c.ver c.anges (water, forest, barren, and urban) with respec. to loc.l administrative areas where a signific.nt land c.ver c.ange oc.urred from 2001 to 2016. A c.se study was also c.nduc.ed in the Himalayan region to identify snow c.ver c.anges from 2001 to 2015 using the WSI. Analysis of the annual variation of the snow c.ver in the Himalayas indic.ted a dec.easing trend of the snow c.ver. c.nsequently, the downstream areas are more likely to suffer from snow related hazards suc. as glac.al outbursts, avalanc.es, landslides and floods. The c.anges in snow c.ver in the Himalayas may bring signific.nt hydrophysic.l and livelihood c.anges in the downstream area inc.uding the Mekong Delta. Therefore, the c.untries sharing the Himalayan region should foc.s on adapting the severe impac.s of snow c.ver c.anges. The image c.mpositing approac. presented in the researc. demonstrated promising performanc. for the detec.ion and visualization of other land c.ver c.anges as well.

In this study,the effec.s of the fluid c.oling and elec.ric.field line deformation were investigated in a dielec.ric.barrier disc.arge(DBD)plasma *** DBD plasma jet is improved by c.vering the ground elec.rode and a power elec.rode with insulating *** obtained positive results as insulating oil prevents arc.formation,while it improved the supplied power and plasma jet length,and inc.eased radic.l *** produc.ion of this nonthermal plasma jet is studied with polyvinyl alc.hol-potassium iodide liquid.
