The electron spin dynamics is investigated by the time-resolved Kerr rotation technique in a pair of special GaAs/AlGaAs asymmetric quantum well samples grown on(111)-oriented substrates,whose structures are the same except for their opposite directions of potential asymmetry.A large difference of spin lifetimes between the two samples is observed at low *** difference is interpreted in terms of a cancellation effect between the Dresselhaus spin-splitting term in the conduction band and another term induced by interface inversion *** deviation decreases with the increasing temperature,and almost disappears when T>100 K because the cubic Dresselhaus term becomes more important.

Insect parasitoids developing inside hosts face a true challenge: hosts are scattered in the field and their localization and selection require the use of complex and sometime confusing information. It was assumed for a long time that small-brained organisms like parasitoids have evolved simple and efficient behavioral mechanisms, leading them to be adapted to a given ecological situation, for example, the spatial distribution o f hosts in the habitat. However, hosts are not static and their distribution may also vary through generations and within the life of parasitoid individuals. We investigated if and how parasitoids deal with such a spatial com plexity in a m esocosm experiment. We used the Aphidius rhopalosiphi/Sitobion avenae parasitoid/host system to investigate if parasitoid females experiencing different host aggregation levels exhibit different foraging behaviors independently of the number of hosts in the environment. We showed that A. rhopalosiphi females exploited hosts more intensively both within and among patches at higher host aggregation levels. We discussed the adaptiveness of such behaviors in the light of evolution and biological control.

For the 3D focusing cubic nonlinear SchrSdinger equation, scattering of H1 solutions inside the （scale invariant） potential well was established by Holmer and Roudenko （radial case） and Duyckaerts et al. （general case） in 2008. In this paper, we extend this result to arbitrary space dimensions and focusing, mass-supercritical and energy-subcritical power nonlinearities, by adapting the method of Duyckaerts et al.

The hygienic performance of simple storage and biological treatment of manure was evaluated using effluents collected from 44 hog farms across Brittany, France. Analyses were carried out on raw manure, on the sludge stored after biological treatment and on the liquid phase stored in a lagoon after sludge settling or sludge dewatering. The effect of the treatments was evaluated on E. coli, enterococci, Clostridium perfringens, Salmonella and Listeria monocytogenes. Sequential feeding of manure maintained a high level of enteric bacteria in storage tanks regardless the duration of storage, and biological treatment only slightly reduced the concentration of enteric bacteria （average reduction in raw manure and sludge 〈 2.2 log10）. Salmonella and L. monocytogenes were identified in raw manure （50% and 18.2% of samples, respectively）, in sludge （14.8% and 11.1%）, and in lagoons （8.0% and 24%）, suggesting that there is still a sanitary risk after biological treatment of manure. Salmonella Derby and L. monocytogenes serotype 4b each accounted for 50% of the serotypes identified in the samples. There was no correlation between the presence of the two pathogenic bacteria and the size of the herd or the duration of manure storage. However, environmental conditions in the lagoons appeared to favor the presence ofL. monocytogenes and hence a risk of disseminating this pathogen in the environment.

Objective: To determine the prevalence of migraine and its associated factors in students at the University of Parakou. Methods: It was a cross-sectional study carried out from February 1st to April 30th 2011. It included all students registered during the academic year 2010-2011 and selected by systematic random sampling. Migraine was defined according to IHS 2004 criteria. To assess the link between migraine and body mass index we collected height and weight of each student. Multivariate analysis was used to study the factors associated with migraine, odds-ratio and their confidence interval were estimated. SPSS Soft-ware was used to perform statistical analysis. Results: During the study period 1200, students returned their questionnaires. They were 842 males and 358 females. 171 fulfilled migraine criteria, and the overall prevalence of migraine was 14.2% (CI 95%: 11.6% - 17.4%). The main associated factors were the sex with an OR: 2.3 (CI 95%: 1.6 - 3.2) and family history of headache with an OR: 1.6 (CI 95%: 1.1 - 2.4). Migraine with aura was the frequent form (59.1%) and visual aura the frequent form of aura. No association was found between migraine and body mass index but students with obesity had high risk of migraine with aura OR: 3.8 (CI 95%: 1.5 - 9.7) compared with those with normal weight. The main triggering factors were sleeplessness (90.1%) and mental fatigue (85.4%). Conclusion: The results suggest a high prevalence of migraine among students at Parakou University and no association between obesity and migraine.
