The feeding of coarse particles (>0.5 mm diameter) directly into a riser operating at positive pressure is important for drying and pre-heating applications. The presence of the feeding device can lead to heterogeneity of drying and heating, and is the main factor responsible for pressure loss in short conveying systems. However, there is a lack of information concerning the axial and radial distributions of coarse particles in this type of configuration, despite the recent advances when dealing with fine particles (Fcc catalyst). The present work therefore investigates a vertical venturi feeder with the conveying system operating in dilute-phase regime with 1 mm spherical glass particles. Experimental assays revealed the behavior of the mass flow rate of solids in the system, and pressure measurements were made along the riser in order to evaluate the accuracy of simulations. Euler-Euler simulations provided close estimation of the experimental pressure drop and the pressure drop according to distance in the linear region. simulation of the fluid dynamics in the riser showed that solids clusters were formed at low concentrations near the feeding device, reflecting heterogeneity in the solid phase volume fraction.

Hair loss is one of the most common complaints among all patients consulting a dermatologist and is usually associated with severe psychological disturbances, distress and symptoms of depression. [1-3]. It can be temporary or long lasting. Diagnosis of hair loss is based on detailed clinical history, physical exam, clinical diagnostic tests, laboratory testing, and scalp biopsy, which may be necessary to confirm some diagnoses. This article presents an overview of the most common clinical causes of hair loss and provides updated information on the current available therapeutic options for these disorders.

The germination test is routinely used for evaluating physiological quality of seeds, but it has not been satisfactory, since it requires relatively long periods to obtain results. In this sense, there is the possibility to resort to vigor tests, although the absence of standardized methodologies has hindered your applicability and reproducibility. The goal of the present study was to establish a methodology for the tetrazolium test that is effective for evaluating physiological quality in pitaya seeds. so, we used five seed batches obtained from mature fruits of pitaya (Hylocereus undatus), harvested in the years of 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012. The experimental design was the completely randomized design, with four replicates of 50 seeds. The tetrazolium test was conducted in a 5 × 4 × 3 factorial plot, corresponding to five batches of pitaya seeds (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012), four concentrations of the tetrazolium solution (0.075%, 0.1%, 0.5%, and 1.0%) and three immersion periods (2, 3, and 4 h). In addition, the germination test for the seed batches was carried out and the analyzed variables were: percentage of germination (PG), germination speed index (GsI) and mean germination time (MGT). Data were submitted to ANOVA and means were compared by the scott-Knott test (p ≤ 0.05). Tetrazolium test conducted at a solution concentration of 0.5% and an immersion period of 3 h proved to be efficient for evaluating physiological quality of pitaya seeds, in order to stratify the seed batches into more viability levels compared to the germination test.

Focus on customer experience has proven to be one of the most important tools for the acceptance of the message of a brand by Millennials （Generation Y）. The aim of this study is to demonstrate how Generation Y influences, through their behavior and customs, the decisions to be made by the marketing area of companies. In this sense, the study seeks to demonstrate this situation by addressing the running market, which is consistently growing in Brazil and has unexplored niches, as in the case of a group of young runners who belong to Generation Y that called the attention of Nike＇s running segment, and was the focus of this research study. The case study was conducted by the qualitative method, based on an empirical investigation, in addition to a literature review. In this sense, it addressed the emergence of Generation Y, and how was the progress of the media that monitored it during this transition, going through multi-platform advertising. This approach is followed by a study of the running market and the role of Nike in it, how the project emerged and its relationship with Generation Y＇s behavior.

We illustrate a conceptual framework for business oriented service Level Management （sLM）. currently IT systems are complex objects that support business operations. To be meaningful, a control system should link business and IT performances. This need, though recognized by most IT management frameworks, is not specifically analyzed. Defining a methodology capable to identify this link is the purpose of our work. The proposed methodology identifies relevant IT systems supporting business activities. The key novelty is that the integration between business Key Performance Indicators （KPIs） and IT systems KPIs is performed through a new uptake of Use case approach. The paper illustrates the conceptual framework, the method and its use in a large transportation organization. The proposed approach has been successfully used by an organization.

Aminoguanidine hydrazones (AGHs) are a class of compounds that have interesting pharmacological activities. They are derived from the same chemical group as aminoguanidine, so it has mixed properties (receptor and donor) in the formation of hydrogen bonds. Its anticancer agent properties were recently highlighted, but the molecules of this class have solubility in aqueous solutions that can be considered low. The identification of this class, by a simple, sensitive and low-cost technique, such as electrochemistry, which also allows the evaluation of its solubilization process through agents such as PAMAM dendrimer is the main objective of the work described here. The electrochemical response of the LQM10 (AGH derivative) was evaluated, as well as its behavior in different electrochemical sensors. Electrochemical experiments were performed in buffered (phosphate at pH 7.02 and acetate at 4.5). LQM10 has a reversible oxidation peak with a potential of +0.22 V. It was efficiently detected in different electrodes tested (glass carbon/cNT, glass carbon/cNT/PAMAM), which proves the viability of the electrodes for various analyses and has the determination of the apparent constant association, indicating its interaction with the analysis that is higher in the presence of the PAMAM encapsulating agent. This was corroborated by the results for the modified gold electrode with MUA and PAMAM. The sum of the results shows the possibility of electrochemically evaluating the Aminoguanidine hydrazone derivative, the viability of electrodes employed and the greater solubilization of LQM10 in the presence of the PAMAM dendrimer.

In this paper, we use DEA to measure the NBA basketball teams’ efficiency in seasons 2006-2007, 2007-2008, 2008-2009 and 2009-2010. In this context, each team is a DMU;we select the payroll and the average attendance to be the inputs while the wins and the average points per game to be the outputs. First, in order to obtain benchmarks, we measure the DMUs efficiency through classic DEA Bcc model with an assurance region for each one of the four seasons individually and together. When we consider the four seasons together, we may analyse whether the performance of each team increases or decreases over time. Next, we evaluate the teams cross efficiency by DEA game to consider that there is no cooperation among DMUs. This approach also improves the efficiencies discrimination.
