Anti-inflammatory effects of alkaloid enriched extract from roots of Eurycoma longifolia Jack

Objective: To examine the in vitro and in vivo anti-inflammatory effects of the alkaloid enriched extract(ELA) from the roots of Eurycoma longifolia. Methods: The in vitro antiinflammatory effects of ELA were evaluated by examining its inhibitory activities against nitric oxide(NO) production and inducible nitric oxide synthase(iN OS) and cyclooxygenase2(COX-2) expressions in lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-stimulated RAW264.7 cells. The level of NO produced in the culture media was determined by Griess method. The i NOS and COX-2 protein expressions were analyzed by Western blot. The in vivo effect of ELA was evaluated on LPS-induced septic shock in mice model. Mice mortality was monitored for5 days after injection of LPS. The chemical contents of the ELA were determined by using various chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques. Results: The ELA was found to exhibit a significant anti-inflammatory effect in both in vitro and in vivo models. The results demonstrated that ELA dose-dependently inhibited LPS-induced NO production as well as the protein iN OS and COX-2 expressions. In the septic shock model, ELA dose-dependently protected mice from LPS-induced mortality. Further study on the isolated components of ELA indicated that 9,10-dimethoxycanthin-6-one may contribute significantly to the antiinflammatory effects of the extract. Conclusions: These results suggest that ELA exhibits the anti-inflammatory activity via suppression of pro-inflammatory mediators such as NO, iN OS,and COX-2 and protects mice from LPS-induced mortality in septic shock model.

Synthetic plastics are often considered to be materials that cannot be broken down by natural *** such plastic,polyethylene terephthalate(PET),is commonly used in everyday items but when these products are discarded,they can cause serious harm to the environment and human *** this study,PET plastic waste was used to create activated carbon using a physical activation process that involved using CO2 *** researchers investigated the effects of different temperatures,carbonization,and activation times on the resulting activated carbon’s surface *** activated carbon was then analyzed using scanning electron microscopy(SEM),X-ray diffraction(XRD),FTIR,and *** activated carbon created from PET plastic waste showed excellent absorption properties for methylene blue in aqueous solutions across a wide range of pH *** creating activated carbon from plastic waste,not only are environmental issues addressed,but high-value activated carbon is produced for environmental remediation purposes.

Evaluation of the Pathogenicity and Immune Response of Nervous Necrosis Virus Isolated in Vietnam

Eight strains of nervous necrosis virus （NNV） isolated in Vietnam were used to detect the pathogenicity and immune response in sea bass （SB）. All strains induced cytopathic effect in SB cell line, complete destruction of monolayer of cells appeared after seven days post infection （dpi）. Virus titer was different for each strain, TCIDso ranged from 102.7 to 1069, and LDs0 from 1015 to 1075. Five NNV strains named QN 02, QN 05, QN 07, ND 11 and KH 05 had higher virulence than the other three, the first causing 100% mortality in experimental fish 3-5 dpi. NNV KH 05 had the highest antigenic similarity, and it was inactivated completely by 0.2% formalin, 0.002 mol/L binary ethylenimine （BEI） and 0.1% beta-propiolactone. The neutralization antibody titer obtained in fish of groups immunized by BEI 0.002 M and beta-propiolactone 0.1% inactivated virus was four to eight times higher than that of the group treated with the formalin inactivated virus. The antibody titer in fish immunized with beta-propiolactone inactivated virus was more persistent. The efficacy of vaccines developed from beta-propiolactone inactivated virus and aluminium hydroxide （AH） or aluminum phosphate （AP） was observed by intramuscularly immunizing Epinephelusfuscoguttatus size 1.5 cm. Neutralizing antibodies appeared in vaccinated fish on 10th day post-immunization （dpi） at a dilution of 1：16; 1：32 and highest levels were reached on 30-45 dpi, at dilutions of 1：256 and 1：512, after treatment with AH and AP vaccine, respectively. The relative percent of survival （RPS） of vaccine at 30 dpi was highest with challenge doses 0.2-1 × 10^6.8 TCIDs0, the RPS varied from 80%-83.3% in both groups of AH and AP immunization. this result provides the basis for developing a vaccine against NNA disease.

Floods are one of nature's most destructive disasters because of the immense damage to land,buildings,and human *** is difficult to forecast the areas that are vulnerable to flash flooding due to the dynamic and complex nature of the flash ***,earlier identification of flash flood susceptible sites can be performed using advanced machine learning models for managing flood *** this study,we applied and assessed two new hybrid ensemble models,namely Dagging and Random Subspace(RS)coupled with Artificial Neural Network(ANN),Random Forest(RF),and Support Vector Machine(SVM)which are the other three state-of-the-art machine learning models for modelling flood susceptibility maps at the Teesta River basin,the northern region of *** application of these models includes twelve flood influencing factors with 413 current and former flooding points,which were transferred in a GIS *** information gain ratio,the multicollinearity diagnostics tests were employed to determine the association between the occurrences and flood influential *** the validation and the comparison of these models,for the ability to predict the statistical appraisal measures such as Freidman,Wilcoxon signed-rank,and t-paired tests and Receiver Operating Characteristic Curve(ROC)were *** value of the Area Under the Curve(AUC)of ROC was above 0.80 for all *** flood susceptibility modelling,the Dagging model performs superior,followed by RF,the ANN,the SVM,and the RS,then the several benchmark *** approach and solution-oriented outcomes outlined in this paper will assist state and local authorities as well as policy makers in reducing flood-related threats and will also assist in the implementation of effective mitigation strategies to mitigate future damage.

Sustainable development in tourism management of Danang, Vietnam

As the third largest city of Viemam, Danang is an economic, cultural, social and touristic center in the central region of Vietnam. The city is becoming increasingly popular among both domestic and international tourists. Its novelty natural landscapes, beautiful beach, central location and proximity to world cultural heritage sites are advantages to tourism development. Sustainable development is undoubtedly a significance objective for Danang by 2020. Accordingly, sustainable development concerns have been integrated in all economic policies, tourism management in general, and the environmental aspect in particular. The study reveals a collaboration between the city government and the accommodation businesses in dealing with environmental concems. Therefore, the purpose of the study is to provide a better understanding of the issue in Danang and then offer necessary recommendations for the city government to manage the tourism industry sustainably.

“教育发展,教师为先”。教育的发展关系到国家和民族的兴衰存亡,而教师队伍的发展直接影响着学校的教学质量。作为“太阳底下最崇高最光辉的职业”,教师身上承担着培育国家和民族下一代的重担。因此,发展一支师德高尚、结构合理、水平较高的教师队伍,对于每个学校的长远发展和每位学生的健康成长具有重要意义。在国民教育系统中,高中教育是一个为国家提供人才储备的关键阶段。为国家培养有理想、有抱负、有终身学习动机及身心健康的预备人才是每一位教师的心愿。高中教育阶段的培养目标是培养学生的学习能力和理解能力,为今后的进一步学习和职业选择打好基础。如何发展一支教师数量充足、质量优良、结构均衡发展的高中教师队伍是每个中学思考的问题,也成为教育中的研究热点。越南河江省高中教师队伍虽然在规模上扩大,训练水平也有显著提高,但仍未满足教育创新的要求。主要问题有教师管理不足、待遇政策不完善、培训不充分和培养教师队伍的能力有限等。发展高中学校教师队伍,教育和培训要有创新、科学和系统的研究。近年来,在越南虽然出现了许多对各个省市高中教师队伍发展的论文研究,但这些论文中,还没有对河江省高中教师队伍发展的研究。研究者首先对美国、英国、法国和中国等教师队伍建设体系比较成熟的国家进行文献研究分析,总结其在教师入职标准、教师评价和教师培训等方面的经验,在搜集和整理相关文献资料的基础上,设计了调查问卷及访谈提纲,对越南河江省高中教师进行了问卷调查及现场访谈的实证研究,获取了大量的第一手资料。研究者再运用人力资源管理相关理论对这些资料进行深入细致地分析和思考,进一步明确了教师队伍素质发展的涵义及重要性,理清了河江省高中教师队伍发展的现状和问题及其原因,并从个人、学校、教育行政部门等三个层面提出切实可行的解决高中教师队伍对策措施。

SFRP5 inhibits melanin synthesis of melanocytes in vitiligo by suppressing the Wnt/b-catenin signaling

Secreted frizzled-related protein 5(SFRP5)plays a pivotal role in regulating the development of many tissues and organs,however,as an inhibitor of Wnt signaling,the role of SFRP5 in vitiligo remains ***,we speculated that SFRP5 might be associated with melanogenesis in melanocytes by regulating Wnt signaling in *** this study,we found that SFRP5 was overexpressed in the skin lesions of patients with *** with that in normal epidermal melanocytes(PIG1),the expression of SFRP5 was increased in vitiligo melanocytes(PIG3V).To investigate the effect of SFRP5 on melanin synthesis,PIG1 cells were infected with recombinant SFRP5 adenovirus(AdSFRP5),and PIG3V cells were infected with recombinant siSFRP5 adenovirus(AdsiSFRP5).The results showed that SFRP5 overexpression inhibited melanin synthesis in PIG1 cells through downregulation of microphthalmia-associated transcription factor(MITF)and its target proteins via suppression of the Wnt/b-catenin signaling ***,SFRP5 silencing increased melanin synthesis and activated the Wnt signaling pathway in PIG3V ***,SFRP5 overexpression also downregulated the transcriptional activity of T cell factor/lymphoid enhancer factor(TCF/LEF)in PIG1 ***,this inhibitory effect of SFRP5 on melanin synthesis was reversed by treatment with the b-catenin agonist,*** inhibitory action of SFRP5 in pigmentation was further confirmed in vivo using a nude mouse ***,our results indicate that SFRP5 can inhibit melanogenesis in ***,our findings showed that SFRP5 plays a vital role in the development of vitiligo,and thus may serve as a potential therapeutic target for vitiligo.

Predicting soil erosion hazard in Lattakia Governorate(W Syria)

The main objective of this study is to predict soil erosion in the Lattakia Governorate(W Syria) using the Water Erosion Prediction Project model(WEPP) and to compare the result with that of the RUSLE. Field survey and data collection were carried out, and 44 soil samples were analyzed. In addition, all the necessary input files were prepared for use in the WEPP model and RUSLE. Results show that more than of 80% of the locations studied experience slight to moderate erosion(less than 5 t/ha/y), whereas the rest of the locations experience severe soil erosion hazard. Moreover, the volume of runoff estimated by the WEPP model is in the range of 51 e321 mm, and the R~2 between the simulated soil erosion and the predicted runoff reached 0.68. Interestingly, the R~2 between the WEPP model and RUSLE is 0.56, which indicates a good correlation between the two models.

自1991年以来,随着中越邦交正常化,两国的文化交流也随之蓬勃发展,其中电视剧是文化传播的重要载体。中国电视剧最初主要是在越南各大电视台播放,到2010年左右,重心转向网络传播。中国电视剧凭借网络的力量在越南开启了新的传播时代。互联网的发展带动了在越南传播的中国电视剧数量不断增加,观众可以根据自己的情况,自由选择想看的电视剧内容和观看时间。因此,中国电视剧在越南网络传播的效果远远超过了传统电视台。近几年,随着网络视频业务的迅猛发展,网站已成为越南观众观看中国电视剧的主要渠道。中国电视剧在越南的网络热播对中国文化的传播起了重大作用。中国电视剧带领越南观众“走进中国”,了解中国情况,感受中国文化魅力。随着中国电视剧在越南传播数量和种类的增多,中国文化对越南文化的影响也日益深广。本文以“越南网络热播的中国电视剧”为研究对象,从跨文化传播学的视角,考察了中国电视剧在越南网络传播的历程与现状,进而探讨中国电视剧在越南网络热播的原因,最后对中国电视剧在越南网络传播的文化影响进行深入解析。希望研究结果能对越南影视行业的发展以及中国文化“走出去”战略有一定的借鉴意义。
