Context. Child maltreatment remains a significant public health and social problem in the United States. Incidence data rely on substantiated reports of maltreatment k.own to official social service agencies. Objective. The objective of this study was to describe the epidemiologic features of child physical and sexual abuse, on the basis of maternal self-reports. Design, Setting, and Participants. Computer-assisted, anonymous, cross-sectional, telephone surveys (N=1435) were conducted with mothers of children 0 to 17 years of age in North and South Carolina. Mothers were ask.d about potentially abusive behaviors used by either themselves or their husbands or partners in the context of other disciplinary practices. They were also ask.d about their k.owledge of any sexual victimization their children might have experienced. Main Outcome Measures. The incidence of physical and sexual maltreatment determined through maternal reports. Results. Use of harsh physical discipline, equivalent to physical abuse, occurred with an incidence of 4.3%. Shak.ng of very young children as a means of discipline occurred among 2.6%of children k.ng, for themselves than for fathers or father figures. Nearly 11 of 1000 children were reported by their mothers as having been sexually victimized within the past year. The incidence of physical abuse determined with maternal self-reports was 40 times greater than that of official child physical abuse reports, and the sexual abuse incidence was 15 times greater. For every 1 child who sustains a serious injury as a result of shak.ng, an estimated 150 children may be shak.n and go undetected. There was no statistically significant difference in the overall rates of physical or sexual maltreatment between the 2 states. Conclusions. The recent advances of wearable sensors are remark.ble but there are still limitations that they need to be refabricated to tune the sensor for target ***,biological sensory systems have the inherent potential to adjust their sensitivity according to the external environment,allowing for a broad and enhanced ***,we developed a Tunable,Ultrasensitive,Nature-inspired,Epidermal Sensor(TUNES)that the strain sensitivity was dramatically increased(GF~30k.and the pressure sensitivity could be tuned(10–254 k.a^(−1))by preset membrane *** sensor adjusts the sensitivity to the pressure regime by preset tension,so it can measure a wide range(0.05 Pa–25 k.a)with the best performance:from very small signals such as minute pulse to relatively large signals such as muscle contraction and *** verified its capabilities as a wearable health monitoring system by clinical trial comparing with pressure wire which is considered the current gold standard of blood pressure(r=0.96)and home health care system by binary classification of Old’s/Young’s pulse waves via machine learning(accuracy 95%).

对某开发区 1991～ 1997年发生的 42 6例工伤罹难者进行了调查分析 ,主要涉及死者人口学资料 ,环境危险因素如致害设备、事故类型及伤害方式等。在该调查期间 ,工伤粗死亡率为 9 1/10 5。坠落、起重伤害、触电、物体打击、坍塌、机械和企业内车辆伤害等占全部工伤死亡的 88%。其企业类型特征如下 :坠落、起重伤害、坍塌、触电和物体打击在建筑行业最常见 ;触电、起重伤害、机械伤害和坠落在制造业常见 ;车辆伤害则最常发生在运输、仓储和邮电业。 15 %的工伤死亡属于多人 (2人及以上 )死亡事故 ,最常见的多人死亡事故是因坠落、化学中毒、金属工件和起重伤害等。涉及的设备主要是工作面、在建建筑物。

Climatological Analysis of Aerosols Optical Properties by Airborne Sensors and in Situ Measurements in West Africa: Case of the Sahelian Zone

This paper deals with the climatology of aerosols in West Africa based on satellite and in situ measurements between 2001 and 2016 and covers four sites in the Sahelian zone. There are indeed Banizoumbou (13.541°N, 02.665°E), Cinzana (13.278°N, 05.934°W), Dak.r (14.394°N, 16.959°W) and Ouagadougou (12.20°N, 1.40°W) located respectively in Niger, Mali, Senegal and Burk.na Faso. Thus, an intercomparison between the satellite observations and the in situ measurements shows a good correlation between MODIS and AERONET with a correlation coefficient R = 0.86 at Cinzana, R = 0.85 at Banizounbou, R = 0.84 at Ouagadougou and a low correlation coefficient R = 0.66 calculated on the Dak.r site. Lik. MODIS, SeaWiFS shows a very good correspondence with measurements of the ground photometer especially for Banizoumbou (R = 0.89), Cinzana (R = 0.88) and Dak.r (R = 0.75) followed by a low correlation coefficient calculated on the Ouagadougou site (R = 0.64). The performance of these airborne sensors is also corroborated by the calculation of root mean square error (RMSE) and the mean absolute error (MAE). Following this validation, a climatological analysis based on aerosol optical depth (AOD) shows the seasonality of aerosols in West Africa strongly influenced by the climate dynamics illustrated by the MERRA model reanalysis. This seasonal spatial distribution of aerosols justifies the temporal variability of the particles observed at the different sites in the Sahel. In addition, a combined analysis of AOD and Angstrom coefficient indicates the aerosol period in the Sahel in spring (March-April-May) and summer (June-July-August). However, these aerosols are strongly dominated by desert dust whose main sources are located north in the Sahara and Sahel.

Objectives:The use of topical corticosteroids to manage postoperative sinonasal symptoms after endoscopic sk.ll base surgery (ESBS) has not been well *** quantified long‐term impact of postoperative steroid irrigations (SIs) on quality of life of patients after ***:Retrospective review of patients at the University of Pennsylvania undergoing ESBS from 2010 to *** on patient demographics and postoperative treatment with nasal saline irrigation twice daily with and without dissolved steroids (mometasone or budesonide) was ***,and 1‐,3‐,6‐,12‐,18‐,and 24‐month postoperative Sino‐Nasal Outcome Test (SNOT‐22) scores were ***:A total of 727 patients were assessed (53.4% males),with 479 patients in the no SI group and 248 patients in the SI *** SNOT‐22 scores did not differ significantly (P = 0.19).1‐,3‐,6‐,12‐,18‐,and 24‐month post‐op SNOT‐22 scores did not significantly differ between ***,mometasone irrigations resulted in significantly lower postoperative 2‐year SNOT‐22 scores compared to budesonide (P < 0.01) and saline (P = 0.03).Conclusions:Though corticosteroid irrigations are routine in managing inflammatory sinus disease,their role in postoperative management after ESBS for tumors is *** findings suggest that mometasone irrigation may be effective at improving postoperative quality of life in patients after ESBS.
