Geochemical Analysis of Albian-Maastrichtian Formations in the Offshore Basin of the Abidjan Margin: Rock-Eval Pyrolysis Study

The Albian-Maastrichtian interval of the Ivorian sedimentary basin has been the subject of numerous sedimentological, biostratigraphic, and geophysical studies. However, its geochemical characteristics remain relatively unexplored. This study aims to determine the oil potential and the nature of the organic matter it contains. It focuses on the geochemical analysis (physicochemical method) of two oil wells located in the offshore sedimentary basin of Côte d’Ivoire, specifically in the Abidjan margin. A total of 154 cuttings samples from wells TMH-1X and TMH-2X were analyzed to determine their oil potential and the nature of the organic matter (OM) they contain. The analyses were performed using Rock-Eval pyrolysis, a method that characterizes the amount of hydrocarbons generated by the organic matter present in the rocks. The key parameters measured include Total Organic Carbon (TOC), Hydrogen Index (hi), oil potential (S2), and maximum pyrolysis temperature (Tmax). These parameters are used to assess the amount of organic matter, its thermal maturity, and its potential to generate hydrocarbons in the studied wells. The results show significant variations between different stratigraphic levels. In well TMH-1X, the Cenomanian and Campanian intervals stand out with very good quantities of organic matter (OM) with good oil potential, although often immature. In contrast, other stages such as the Albian and Turonian contain organic matter in moderate to low quantities, often immature and of continental type, which limits their capacity to generate hydrocarbons. In well TMH-2X, a similar trend is observed. Despite an abundance of organic matter, the oil potential remains low in most of the studied stages. The organic matter is primarily of type III (continental origin) and thermally immature, indicating a low potential for hydrocarbon generation. Channel Slope Effect on Energy Dissipation of Flow over Broad Crested Weirs

The main purpose of broad crested weir used in open channels is to raise and control upstream (U/S) water level. In this study, a new performance was added to this weir, by making a step at downstream (D/S) of weir. The energy dissipation, the height of the weir/the upstream water height ratio and Froude number relation.hips (E% – P/h – Fr) for three range of flume slop S = 0.0, 0.002 and 0.004 were simulated. The experiments were performed in a laboratory horizontal channel of 4.6 m length, 0.3 m width and 0.3 m depth for a wide range of discharge. The D/S step height of the weir was 7.5 cm. FLUEnT software was used as numerical model which represent a type of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) model in order to simulate flow over weirs. The Volume of Fluid (VOF) method with the Standard k – ε turbulence model was used to estimate the free surface profile and the structured mesh with high concentration near the wall regions. The experimental results of the water surface profile gave a high agreement with the results of the numerical models. The maximum value 28.78 of E% was obtained in single step broad crested weir in the experimental result and 27.35 in numerical result at S = 0.004. Finally, the range of the relative error of the energy dissipation between experimental and numerical results was achieved and the maximum was 6.76 in all runs.

Flow over Broad Crested Weirs： Comparison of 2D and 3D Models

The flow over broad-crested weirs was simulated by computational fluid dynamic model. The water surface profile over broad crested weir was measured in a laboratory model and validated using two and three dimensional Fluent programs. The Reynolds Averaged navier-Stokes equations coupled with the turbulent standard （k-ε） model and volume of fluid method were applied to estimate the water surface profile. The results of numerical model were compared with experimental results to evaluate the ability of model in describing the behaviour of water surface profile over the weir. The results indicated that the 3D required more time in comparison with 2D results and the flow over weir changed from subcritical flow at the upstream （U/S） face of weir to critical flow over the crest and to supercritical flow at downstream （D/S）. A reasonable agreement was noticed between numerical results and experimental observations with mean error less than 2 %.

Comparative Study of the Large Eddy Simulations with the Lattice Boltzmann Method Using the Wall-Adapting Local Eddy-Viscosity and Vreman Subgrid Scale Models

The wall-adapting local eddy-viscosity(WALE)and Vreman subgrid scale models for large eddy simulations are compared within the framework of a generalised lattice Boltzmann *** developed turbulent flows near a flat wall are simulated with the two models for the shear(or friction)Reynolds number of *** to the direct numerical simulation(DnS),damped eddy viscosity in the vicinity of the wall and a correct velocity profile in the transitional region are achieved by both the models without dynamic *** turbulent statistics,including,e.g.,root-mean-square velocity fluctuations,also agree well with the DnS *** comparison also shows that the WALE model predicts excellent damped eddy viscosity near the wall.

Magmatic Source Composition and Magmatism of the Volcanic Rocks in the Area of Kuruktag, Southern Xinjiang

In the Sinian-Cambrian strata in the area of Kuruktag, southern Xingjiang, four layers of volcanic rocks occurred in the Early Sinian Beiyixi Formation, Late Sinian Zhamoketi Formation and Shuiquan Formation, and Early Cambrian Xishanbulake Formation, respectively. Volcanics of the Shuiquan Formation and Xishanbulake Formation are of alkali basalt series, those of the Zhamoketi Formation are of alkali basalt series and tholeiite series, and those of the Beiyixi Formation are obviously characterized by bimodal assemblage and mostly belong to alkali volcanics. Multi-element distribution patterns of the rocks show continental tumescence characters of interplate basalt. Fractional crystallization of plagioclase led to negative Eu-anomalies of some volcanics and the cumulation of olivine resulted in.high MgO and low SiO2 content of some volcanic rocks. The SiO2 saturability of volcanic rocks of the Xishanbulake Formation and Shuiquan Formation is lower than that of tholeiite of the Zhamoketi Formation. Correspondingly, the abundance of incompatible elements in the first two formations is higher than those in the last formation, and the differences can be attributed to the different degrees of partial melting. The intense fractionation of REE and the obvious depletion of HREE suggest that these volcanic rocks were derived from garnet lherzolite of the mantle in the continental lithosphere. The Ba/nb, La/nb, Ba/La, Ba/Th and Rb/nb rations demonstrate that these volcanic rocks were exclusively derived from the enriched mantle, mainly the EMI type mantle.

Solutions to Buoyancy-Drag Equation for Dynamical Evolution of Rayleigh-Taylor and Richtmyer-Meshkov Mixing Zone

With a self-similar parameter b（At） = hi/λi, where At is the Atwood number, hi and λi are the *** and wavelength of bubble （i = 1） and spike （i = 2） respectively, we derive analytically the solutions to the buoyancy-drag equation recently proposed for dynamical evolution of Rayleigh-Taylor and Richtmyer-Meshkov mixing zone. numerical solutions are obtained with a simple form ofb（At）--- 1/（1 ＋ At） and comparisons with recent LEM （linear electric motor） experiments are made, and an agreement is found with properly chosen initial conditions.

Let R = ⊙n〉0 Rn be a standard graded ring, a ∩ ⊙n〉0 Rn an ideal of R, and M, n two finitely generated graded R-modules. This paper studies the homogeneous components of graded generalized local cohomology modules. We show that for any i 〉 0, the n-th graded component hiα（M, n）n of the i-th generalized local cohomology module of M and n with respect to a vanishes for all n 〉〉 0. Some sufficient conditions are pro- posed to satisfy the equality sup{end（hiα （M, n）） [ i _〉 0} = sup{end（hiR＋（M, n））｜ i 〉 0}. Also, some sufficient conditions are proposed for the tameness of hiα（M, n） such that i = fRα＋（M,n） or i = cdα（M,g）, where fRα＋（M,n） and cdα（M,g） denote the R＋- finiteness dimension and the cohomological dimension of M and n with respect to a, respectively. Finally, we consider the Artinian property of some submodules and quotient modules of Hjα（M, n）, where j is the first or last non-minimax level of hiα（M, n）.

Hydro-hypsometric analysis of tropical river basins,Southwest Coast of India using geospatial technology

The key aspect in planning and management of water resources is to analyze the runoff potential and erosion status of the river *** the detailed investigation of hydrological response freely available Cartosat-1(IRS-P5) data was used for the preparation of digital elevation model(DEM).The runoff potential and type of erosive process of 22 river basins originating in the global biodiversity hotspot of Western Ghats,was inferred through hypsometric *** parameters like Hypsometric integral(hi),maximum concavity(Eh),coordinates of slope inflection point(I) given by a* and h* and normalized height of hypsometric curve(h) were extracted from the hypsometric curves and used for understanding the hydrological *** the hypsometric curves,the landform evolution processes were *** of diffusive and fluvial processes in slope degradation of the river basins was *** with lesser area(nd to have a positive correlation between hypsometric integral and basin area,whereas for large basins no such correlation *** on the study,river basins can be prioritized for the appropriate conservation measures.

Influence of nickel silicides presence on hardness,elastic modulus and fracture toughness of gas-borided layer produced on nisil-alloy

The two-stage gas boriding in n_(2)−H_(2)−BCl_(3)atmosphere was applied to producing a two-zoned borided layer on *** process was carried out at 910℃ for 2 *** microstructure consisted of two zones differing in their phase *** outer layer contained only a mixture of nickel borides(ni_(2)B,ni_(3)B)*** inner zone contained additionally nickel silicides(ni_(2)Si,ni_(3)Si)occurring together with nickel *** aim of this study was to determine the presence of nickel silicides on the mechanical properties of the borided layer produced on ni-based *** hardness and elastic modulus were measured using the nanoindenter with a Berkovich diamond tip under a load of 50 *** average values of indentation hardness(hi)and indentation elastic modulus(E_(I))obtained in the outer zone were respectively(16.32±1.03)GPa and(232±16.15)*** presence of nickel silicides in the inner zone reduced the indentation hardness(6.8−12.54 GPa)and elastic modulus(111.79−153.99 GPa).The fracture toughness of the boride layers was investigated using a Vickers microindentation under a load of 0.981 *** was confirmed that the presence of nickel silicides caused an increase in brittleness(by about 40%)of the gas-borided layer.
