We studied the fracture resistance of m.xillary prem.lars restored with recent restorative m.terials. Fifty m.xillary prem.lars were divided into five groups： Group 1 were unprepared teeth; Group 2 were teeth prepared without restoration; Group 3 were teeth restored with tetric ceram.HB; Group 4 were teeth restored with InTen s; and Group 5 were teeth restored with Adm.ra. The sam.les were tested using a universal testing m.chine. Peak loads at fracture were recorded. The teeth restored with Adm.ra had the highest fracture resistance followed by those restored with InTen-s and tetric ceram.HB. Prepared, unrestored teeth were the weakest group. There was a significant difference between the fracture resistance of intact teeth and the prepared, unrestored teeth. There was also a significant difference am.ng the tested restorative m.terials. Teeth restored with Adm.ra showed no significant difference when com.ared with the unprepared teeth. It was concluded that the teeth restored with Adm.ra exhibited the highest fracture resistance.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the m.thods of sheath rem.val (fem.stop, com.ressor and m.nual com.ression) am.ng Jordanian patients post cardiac catherization. m.terial and m.thods: A descriptive explorative design utilized to collect data from.87 patients underwent cardiac catherization. Data collected on dem.graphics, health rem.rks and com.lication pre and post cardiac catherization and in relation to sheath rem.val m.thods and com.lications. Results: The m.jority of the patients (94.2%, n = 80) had a m.nual sheath rem.val com.ared to 1% (n = 1) com.ression and 7% (n = 6) had fem.stop m.thod. Kruskal-Wallis H test revealed there were significance difference in PTT and ACT reports in relation to type of procedures (0.24, p 0.015;0.32, p = 0.005 respectively). However, there were no significant differences between m.thods of sheath rem.val m.thods in relation to pain level, m.P before, m.P after, and heart rate with p value > 0.05. Patient’s age had negative association with HR after the procedure (BTAU = -0.19, p = 0.02), while no significant differences found in post catherization com.lication (hem.tom. and pain level) and all other health rem.rks (p > 0.05) in regards to patients’ age and gender. m.reover, patients’ m.P readings were significantly different in relation to num.er of rest hour that patients had post cardiac catherization (p = 0.049). Conclusion: The study found that m.st patients and health professionals preferred m.nual rem.val m.thods of sheath post cardiac catherization. Cardiac health professionals, has to consider health rem.rks and dem.graphic characteristics of their patients when planning care for their patients and m.re research needed to explore these issues.

The developm.nt of dam.ge detection techniques for offshore jacket structures is vital to prevent catastrophic events. This paper applies a frequency response based m.thod for the purpose of structural health m.nitoring. In efforts to fulfill this task, concept of the m.nim.m.rank perturbation theory has been utilized. The present article introduces a prom.sing m.thodology to select frequency points effectively. To achieve this goal, m.dal strain energy ratio of each m.m.er was evaluated at different natural frequencies of structure in order to identify the sensitive frequency dom.in for dam.ge detection. The proposed m.thodology opens up the possibility of m.ch greater detection efficiency. In addition, the perform.nce of the proposed m.thod was evaluated in relation to m.ltiple dam.ges. The aforem.ntioned points are illustrated using the num.rical study of a two dim.nsional jacket platform. and the results proved to be satisfactory utilizing the proposed m.thodology.

In the field of the water resources, hydrologic m.dels have been used to assess water quality perform.nce of com.lex watersheds and river basins. Hydrologic m.dels can provide essential inform.tion for m.king decisions on sustainable m.nagem.nt system.of water resources within watersheds. The m.in objective of this study was to validate the perform.nce of the soil and Water Assessm.nt Tool （sWAT） and the feasibility of using this m.del as a sim.lator of runoff at a catchm.nt scale in sem.-arid area in Northwestern Tunisia. Calibration and validation of the m.del output were perform.d by com.aring predicted runoff with corresponding m.asurem.nts from.the sarrath outlet for the periods 1990-1995 for calibration and 2000-2005 for validation. The tim. series for the years 1996-1999 showed discrepancies between the m.asured rainfall and the observed runoff indicating errors due to either the observations or to a dysfunction in the equipm.nts. sensitivity analysis shows that sensitive param.ters for the sim.lation of discharge include curve num.er, soil evaporation com.ensation factor, depth of water in shallow aquifer and slope of subbasin. statistical com.arisons between m.nthly sim.lated results and observed data for the calibration period gave a reasonable agreem.nt with a coefficient of determ.nation （R2） greater than 0.75 and Nash-sutcliffe Coefficient （NsE） equal to 0.72. These values were respectively 0.70 and 0.64 for validation period. Overall, the sWAT m.del has the capability to predict runoff within a com.lex sem.-arid catchm.nt.

Let P（z）=anz^n＋an-1z^n-1＋…＋a0be a com.lex polynom.al of degree n. There is a close connection between the coefficients and the zeros of P（z）. In this paper we prove som. sharp inequalities concerning the coefficients of the polynom.al P（z） with restricted zeros. We also establish a sufficient condition for the separation of zeros of P（z）.

solid phase m.croextraction （sPm.） is a solvent-flee m.thod of sam.le collection. sPm. is an appealing m.thod for sam.le collection because it is designed for the sam.ling of trace level analytes with short sam.ling tim.s in a variety of environm.nts. Additionally, sPm. can be used to directly deliver a sam.le to a gas chrom.tograph （GC） for analysis by m.ans of therm.l desorption. In this paper, the perform.nce of sPm. under dynam.c conditions was investigated. Additionally, the com.etence of sPm. sam.ling for the sim.ltaneous analysis of m.ltiple trace analytes was also evaluated. This work is discussed in the context of underground m.ne ventilation surveys but is applicable to any industry in which ventilation circuits m.st be evaluated. The results of this paper showed that the perform.nce of the 100 ~m.PDm. sPm. fiber was both precise and rapid under dynam.c conditions. This sPm. fiber was also able to sim.ltaneously collect sulfur hexafluoride （sF6） and perfluorom.thylcyclohexane （Pm.H） with adequate sensitivity.

The suitability of using precipitated silica(Ps) from.the burning of rice husk was investigated to im.rove the geotechnical engineering properties of a black cotton soil. A laboratory experim.ntal program.consisting of series of specific gravity, Atterberg lim.ts, com.action, California bearing ratio(CBR), unconfined com.ression and consolidation tests was conducted on the untreated and Ps treated soil sam.les. The application of Ps to the soil significantly changed its properties by reducing its plasticity and m.king it m.re workable, im.roving its soaked strength, and increasing its perm.ability and the rate at which the soil gets consolidated. An optim.l Ps content of 50%, which provided the highest soaked strength, is recom.ended for the im.rovem.nt of the subgrade characteristics of the BC soil for use as a pavem.nt layer m.terial.

Electrospinning is a useful and efficient technique to produce polym.ric nanofibers. Nanofibers of polym.rs are electrospun by creating an electrically charged jet of polym.r solution. Num.rical study on non-Newtonian and viscoelastic jets of polym.r nanofibers in electrospinning process is presented in this work. In particular, the effect of non-Newtonian rheology on the jet profile during the electrospinning process is exam.ned. The governing equations of the problem.are solved num.rically using the Keller-Box m.thod. The effects of yield stress and power-law index on the elongation, velocity, stress and total force are presented and discussed in detail. The results show that by increasing the values of yield stress, the fluid elongation is reduced significantly.

Am.ng m.ny types of proteinaceous filam.nts, m.crotubules （m.s） constitute the m.st rigid com.onents of the cellular cytoskeleton. m.crotubule dynam.cs is essential for m.ny vital cellular processes such as intracellular transport, m.tabolism. and cell division. We investigate the nonlinear dynam.cs of inhom.geneous m.crotubulin system. and the m. dynam.cs is found to be governed by a perturbed sine-Gordon equation. In the presence of various com.eting nonlinear inhom.geneities, it is shown that this nonlinear m.del can lead to the existence of kink and antikink solitons m.ving along m.s. We dem.nstrate kink-antikink pair collision in the fram.work of Hirota＇s bilinearization m.thod. We conjecture that the collisions of the quanta of energy propagating in the form.of kinks and antikinks m.y offer a new view of the m.chanism.of the retrograde and anterograde transport direction regulation of m.tor proteins in m.crotubulin system..
