singular spectrum analysis （ssA） is a technique that decomposes a time series into a set of components, such as, trend, harmonics, and residuals. Leaving out the residual components and adding up the others, the time series can be smoothed. this procedure has been used to model Brazilian electricity consumption and flow series. the PAR（p）, periodic autoregressive models, has been broadly used in modelling energy series in Brazil. this paper presents an approach of this decomposition method, by fitting the PAR（p）, considering its multivariate version known as multivariate ssA （mssA）. the method was applied to a vector of two wind speed series recorded at two locations in the Brazilian Northeast region. the obtained results, when compared to the univariate decomposition of each series, were far superior, showing that the spatial correlation between the two series were considered by mssA decomposition stage.

steroidal glycoalkaloids（sGAs） are nitrogen-containing secondary metabolites of the solanum species,which are known to have large chemical and bioactive diversity in *** recent effort and development on LC/ms techniques for sGA profiling have elucidated the main pathways of sGA metabolism in tomato,the problem of peak annotation still remains due to the vast diversity of chemical structure and similar on overlapping of chemical *** we provide a case study of peak classification and annotation approach by integration of species and tissue specificities of sGA accumulation for provision of comprehensive pathways of sGA *** order to elucidate natural diversity of sGA biosynthesis,a total of 169 putative sGAs found in eight tomato accessions（soianum lycopersicum, ***, ***, ***, ***,***,***,***） and four tissue types were used for correlation *** results obtained in this study contribute annotation and classification of sGAs as well as detecting putative novel biosynthetic branch *** such this represents a novel strategy for peak annotation for plant secondary metabolites.

Numerous industrial applications of spouted beds involve a mixture of granular particles, where differences in particle size, density, and shape can cause particle segregation, affecting the quality of flow and decreasing product homogeneity. the aim of this study was to investigate the particle segregation and fluid dynamics of a conical spouted bed operating with a binary mixture of particles of different densities. Using glass beads and polyethylene particles with a diameter of 4 mm, we determined the effects of the mass fraction of denser particles and static bed height on the minimum spouting condition and mixture index. the pressure drop and airflow in the minimum spouting condition increased with an increase in bed height or jetsam concentration. Regarding particle segregation, the jetsam particles tended to concentrate near the bottom, at the spout–annulus interface because they have a shorter trajectory than the lighter particles in the fountain region. Jetsam-rich mixtures with high initial static bed heights exhibited more efficient particle mixing, excluding those at the bottom of the bed.

Fractionation of rare earth elements（REE） and other trace metal concentrations（th, U, Cd,Cr, Cu, Ni, Pb, and Zn） between mangrove sediments and claw muscles and shells of male crabs（Ucides cordatus） from a subtropical estuary highly impacted by fertilizer industry activities was investigated. this is the first record of REE distribution in these organisms,and the results showed higher accumulations of these metals, U and th in shells, probably related to the replacement of Ca during molting. Contents of Cd, Cr and Ni were similar in both tissues, but Cu, Zn and Pb were mostly accumulated in the claw muscle with concentrations above those considered safe for human consumption according to the Brazilian legislation. REE fractionation was different in the analyzed tissues being softer in the shells. the results provided evidences that the water absorbed during molting controls the chemistry of REE in shells. In contrast, the chemistry of REE in the claw muscle, in which was observed preferential absorption of light REE, is controlled by diet. REE fractionation obtained for the claw muscles was closely correlated to the observed in the contaminated substrate and in materials related to the production of phosphate fertilizers（contamination source）, which supports their transference to this Ucides cordatus tissue without fractionation by the ingestion of sediments. Our results showed the potential use of crab tissues for monitoring REE and trace element sources in mangrove areas, with claw muscle exhibiting the contaminant source fingerprint.

Background: this study aimed to determine the litterfall production, accumulation, decomposition rate and nutrient stocks, and to estimate the soil carbon(C) and nitrogen(N) stocks in three palm swamp ecosystems with different land use intensities in the southeast of ***: three palm swamp ecosystems with different land use intensities were evaluated: Agua Doce(AD),conserved area;Capivara(CV), area with small agricultural practices;and Buriti Grosso(BG), area with an intensive land use. Produced and accumulated litterfall from the Cerrado areas surrounding the palm swamps were collected from October 2014 to september 2015, and the Ca, mg, K, and P concentrations were determined in the dry and rainy seasons. soil samples were collected in the surrounding Cerrado and within the palm swamps until 100 cm soil depth to determine bulk density and soil C and N contents and ***: Annual litterfall production in the Cerrado surrounding palm swamps was similar in AD(3.58 mg·ha^-1·year^-1) and CV(3.79 mg·ha^-1·year^-1), and was lower in BG(2.84 mg·ha^-1·year^-1), and was more intense during the dry season. Furthermore, litterfall accumulation was higher in CV(7.12 mg·ha^-1·year^-1) and BG(6.75 mg·ha^-1·year^-1), culminating in lower decomposition rates. AD showed the highest decomposition rate(0.60) due to its vegetation structure and conservation. the macronutrient contents from the production and accumulated litterfall had a low influence of the land use, decreasing in the following order: Ca > K > mg > P. soils in CV and BG palm swamp areas showed higher values of C and N contents, due to the use of land for agricultural crops and cattle raising in an extensive(rangeland) system. the BG palm swamp, showed the highest C(124.03 mg·ha^-1) and N(10.54 mg·ha^-1) stocks due to the land use history with different agricultural practices over ***: the litterfall dynamics in the Cerrado surrounding palm swamps was more affected by climatic variables t

Objective:To identify whether Canova medication changes TNF-α and IL-10 serum levels in mice infected with Trypanosoma cruzi Y ***:Animals were divided into five groups:non-treated infected animals(I); benznidazole-treated infected animals(Bz; 100 mg/kg body weight,single daily dose by gavage); Canova medication(Cm) treated infected animals(Cm;0.2 mL/animal,single daily dose by gavage); benznidazole- and Canova medication–treated infected animals with the above-mentioned dose(Bz+Cm);and non-infected animals(C).TNF-α and IL-10 levels were determined in serum aliquots after 4,7,10,13,and 29 days of *** ELIsA technique was employed with R&D system *** ***:A high increase in TNF-α and IL-10 levels occurred in the infected and Cm-treated groups within the treatment employed on the 10 th day after infection,coupled with a IL-10 decrease on the 13 th day after infection when compared with the other experimental ***:Cm may change the balance between plasma cytokine levels(TNF-α and IL-10) in mice infected with Y strain ***,with important consequences leading towards a more severe infection.

the use of triple therapy for hepatitis C not only increases the rate of sustained virological responses compared with the use of only interferon and ribavirin(RBV) but also leads to an increased number of side effects. the subject of this study was a 53-year-old male who was cirrhotic with hepatitis C virus genotype 1 A and was a previous null non-responder. We initially attempted retreatment with boceprevir(BOC), Peginterferon and RBV, and a decrease in viral load was observed in the 8th week. In week 12, he presented with disorientation, flapping, fever, tachypnea, arterial hypotension and tachycardia. He also exhibitedleucopenia with neutropenia. Cefepime and filgrastim were initiated, and treatment for hepatitis C was suspended. A myelogram revealed hypoplasia, cytotoxicity and maturational retardation. After 48 h, he developed bilateral inguinal eryth.ma that evolved throughout the perineal area to the root of the thighs, with exulcerations and an outflow of seropurulent secretions. Because we hypothesized that he was suffering from Fournier's syndrome, treatment was replaced with the antibiotics imipenem, linezolid and clindamycin. After this new treatment paradigm was initiated, his lesions regressed without requiring surgical debridement. Triple therapy requires knowledge regarding the management of adverse effects and drug interactions; it also requires an understanding of the importance of respecting the guidelines for the withdrawal of treatment. In this case report, we observed an adverse event that had not been previously reported in the literature with the use of BOC.
