recent decades have seen a substantial increase in interest in research on natural fibres that is aligned with sustainable development goals(SDGs).Due to their renewable resources and biodegradability,natural fiberreinforced composites have been investigated as a sustainable alternative to synthetic materials to reduce the usage of hazardous waste and environmental *** the natural fibre,jute fibre obtained from a bast plant has an increasing trend in the application,especially as a reinforcement *** research works have been performed on jute fibre with regard to reinforced thermoset and thermoplastic ***,current demands on sustainable materials have required new developments in thermoplastic *** this paper,the author reviews jute plants as reinforcement materials for thermoplastic matrix *** review provides an overview of the sustainability of jute plants as reinforcement material for thermoplastic matrix *** overview on jute based thermoplastic composites focused on the thermal behavior and mechanical *** from physical,chemical,and mechanical properties,the study also covers the current and perspectives for future research challenges faced by the researchers on jute fibre reinforced thermoplastic composites.

Elaborate evaluation of serum and tissue oxidized LDL level with darapladib therapy:A feasible diagnostic marker for early atherogenesis

Objective: To compare oxidized low density lipoprotein(ox LDL) levels in serum and vascular wall of Sprague-Dawley rats, identify their patterns in 8 weeks and 16 weeks of dyslipidemia induced by high fat diet, compare foam cells in aorta of each group and investigate lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A_2(Lp-PLA_2) role in atherosclerosis by darapladib ***: This study generated in twenty-four Sprague-Dawley rats. rats were divided into 6 groups, which were received normal diet(normal group), high fat diet and high fat diet plus darapladib therapy for both 8 weeks and 16 weeks. Surgeries were performed at Week 8 and Week 16 to take the blood serum and aortic tissue. Level of ox LDL in serum,ox LDL aortic tissue, foam cell amount in aortic tissue, and Lp-PLA_2 expression in aortic tissue were ***: There were significant differences in ox LDL level in serum, aortic tissue and foam cell amount(P re was no significant difference in Lp-PLA_2 expression in aortic tissue. Ox LDL in serum and aortic tissue had a very strong correlation(r2> 0.9, P r ox LDL level in aortic tissue prediction. Factorial ANOVA found that there was a significant difference of ox LDL level in the interactions between duration and location, location and treatment, and also duration, location and treatment(P ration of darapladib was able to reduce levels of ox LDL in serum,aortic tissue and foam cell significantly(P ration-dependent. As a feasible early diagnosis, we can predict ox LDL level in aortic tissue by its level in serum. Though Lp-PLA_2 expression was unsignificant, Lp-PLA_2 inhibition by darapladib can reduce oxidative stress and inflammation in atherogenesis.

Optimization of sugar production from Durian seeds via alkaline hydrolysis for second-generation bioethanol production

As one way to eliminate the issues found in the preceding generation,feedstock exploration in second-generation bioethanol production remains an issue,especially for a tropical country such as *** exotic fruit by-products,durian holds a promising perspective that rests on its abundance,superb carbohydrate content and limited usage until *** work presents the first-ever utilization of durian seeds for sugar production under optimized conditions through alkaline hydrolysis.A simple form of sugar was extracted by varying four parameters,namely substrate loading,NaOH concentration,hydrolysis time and hydrolysis *** surface methodology based on the Box-Behnken design was employed to outline the most optimum parameter *** of variance revealed that the quadratic model fit the data appropriately with the order of significance as substrate loading>hydrolysis time>NaOH concentration>hydrolysis *** optimized conditions for reducing sugar yield,as high as 2.140 g/L,corresponded torate loading,0.522 M NaOH,60 minutes of hydrolysis time and 80oC hydrolysis *** possible ethanol content of 1.094 g/L was also expected under optimized conditions,demonstrating great potential in second-generation bioethanol production.

Landslide Hazard and Community-based risk reduction Effort in Karanganyar and the Surrounding Area,Central Java,Indonesia

Karanganyar and the surrounding area are situated in a dynamic volcanic arc region, where landslide frequently occurs during the rainy season. The rain-induced landslide disasters have been resulting in 65 fatalities and a substantial socioeconomical loss in last December 2007. Again, in early February 2009, 6 more people died, hundreds of people temporary evacuated and tens of houses damaged due to the rain-induced landslide. Accordingly, inter-disciplinary approach for geological, geotechnical and social investigations were undertaken with the goal for improving community resilience in the landslide vulnerable villages. Landslide hazard mapping and communitybased landslide mitigation were conducted to reduce the risk of landslides. The hazard mapping was carried out based on the susceptibility assessment with respect to the conditions of slope inclination, types and engineering properties of lithology/soil as well as the types of landuse. All of those parameters were analyzed by applying weighing and scoring system which were calculated by semi qualitative approach (Analytical Hierarchical Process). It was found that the weathered andesitic-steep slope (steeper than 30o) was identified as the highest susceptible slope for rapid landslide, whilst the gentle colluvial slope with inter-stratification of tuffaceous clay-silt was found to be the susceptible slope for creeping. Finally, a programme for landslide risk reduction and control were developed with special emphasize on community-based landslide mitigation and early warning system. It should be highlighted that the social approach needs to be properly addressed in order to guarantee the effectiveness of landslide risk reduction.

Ultrasensitive detection of Ebola matrix protein in a memristor mode

We demonstrate the direct biosensing of the Ebola VP40 matrix protein, using a memristor mode of a liquid-integrated nanodevice, based on a large array of honeycomb-shaped silicon nanowires. To shed more light on the principle of biodetection using memristors, we engineered the opening of the current-minima voltage gap VG by involving the third gap-control electrode （gate voltage, VG） into the system. The primary role of VG is to mimic the presence of the charged species of the desired sign at the active area of the sensor. We further showed the advantages of biodetection with an initially opened controlled gap （Vc~ ~a 0）, which allows the detection of the lowest concentrations of the biomolecules carrying arbitrary positive or negative charges; this feature was not present in previous configurations. We compared the bio-memristor performance, in terms of its detection range and sensitivity, to that of the already-known field-effect transistor （FET） mode by operating the same device. To our knowledge, this is the first demonstration of Ebola matrix protein detection using a nanoscaled electrical sensor.

Catalyst-coated membranes(CCMs)have gained popularity among membrane electrode assembly(MEA)fabricators for their abilities and advantages compared with those of other methods,such as catalyst-coated substrates(CCSs).CCMs show a profound new analysis for reducing platinum(Pt)catalyst *** addition,they increase the total number of reactions that occur on the MEA because of their active area amplification,which leads to an improved catalyst-utilization efficiency ***,several characteristics are involved in the MEA fabrication ***-manufacturing effects with regard to catalyst inks and analysis of the overall performance of MEAs prepared by the CCM and CCS methods are *** deliberation emphasizes the practical approaches in minimizing performance deterioration during the fabrication of MEAs using the CCM method and converses the commercialization of the CCM fabrication method toward developing an end *** research is required for MEA fabrication using the CCM methods to ensure that the fuel cell performance is ***,this review is focusing on the pros and cons of both distinguished methods,that is,CCM and CCS fabrication,for better comparison.

An organically modified clay and a pristine clay were used to prepare biodegradable thermoplastic polyurethane(PU) paint/clay nanocomposites. In this paper, polyurethane paint /clay nanocomposites base on palm oil polyol were prepared by isocyanate, polyol and organoclay(a clay modified with Cetyl trimethyl ammonium Bromide(CTAB) and Octadecylamines(ODA). The morphologies of samples were revealed by transmission electron microscopy(TEM) and Intercalation of PU into clay galleries and crystalline structure of PU were investigated using X-ray diffraction(XrD). The morphology of the resulting composite showed a combination of intercalated and partially exfoliated clay layers with occasional clay aggregates

Differences of Asphyxia in Infants of 35 and 36 Weeks Pregnant Women with or without Antenatal Corticosteroids

Objective: To identify differences of Asphyxia in infants of 35 - 36 weeks with or without antenatal corticosteroid. Methods: Case control study was done on 35 and 36 weeks of pregnancy mother with threatened preterm labor who received and did not receive corticosteroids. results: From 106 patients with threatened preterm labour between 35 - 36 gestational age, 53 patients received corticosteroid, and 53 did not receive corticosteroid. Incidence of asphyxia decreased significantly from patients received corticosteroid (34%:58.5%, P = 0.011). Incidence of decreased in patients received corticosteroid compared with patients did not receive corticosteroid (3.8%: 15.1%), but the difference was not significant (P = 0.093). Based on the length of stay at the hospital, babies receiving corticosteroid before delivery have shorter duration of stay (re is a significant correlation of newborn asphyxia from 35 - 36 gestational weeks with or without corticosteroid treatment (58.5%:34%, P = 0.011).
