Carcinogenic process has been proposed to relay on the capacity to induce local tissue damage and proliferative repair. Liver has a great regeneration capacity and currently, most studies point towards the dominant role of hepatocytes in regeneration at all levels of liver damage. the most frequent liver cancer is hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC). Historical findings originally led to the idea that the cell of origin of HCC might be a progenitor cell. However, current linage tracing studies put the progenitor hypothesis of HCC origin into question. In agreement with their dominant role in liver regeneration, mature hepatocytes are emerging as the cell of origin of HCC, although, the specific hepatocyte subpopulation of origin is yet to be determined. the relationship between the cancer cell of origin(CCO) and cancer-propagating cells, known as hepatic cancer stem cell(HCSC) is unknown. It has been challenging to identify the definitive phenotypic marker of HCSC, probably due to the existence of different cancer stem cells(CSC) subpopulations with different functions within HCC. there is a dynamic interconversion among different CSCs, and between CSC and non-CSCs. Because of that, CSC-state is currently defined as a description of a highly adaptable and dynamic intrinsic property of tumor cells, instead of a static subpopulation of a tumor. Altered conditions could trigger the gain of stemness, some of them include: EMt-MEt, epigenetics, microenvironment and selective stimulus such as chemotherapy. this CSC heterogeneity and dynamism makes them out reach from therapeutic protocols directed to a single target. A further avenue of research in this line will be to uncover mechanisms that trigger this interconversion of cell populations within tumors and target it.

Sintering Formation of Low temperature Phase MnBi and Its Disordering in Mechanical Milling

With X-ray diffraction and DSC analysis, it is found that 4 cycles of sintering at 593 K are necessary for the complete production of the low-temperature phase (LtP) MnBi. the c/a of the fabricated LtP MnBi is 1.4286. Metastable phase MnBip formed in primary sintering stage of LtP MnBi has the similar crystal structure and lattice constant with the quenched high-temperature phase (HtP) Mn1.08Bi. the structural differences between MnBip phase and Mn1.08Bi phase are discussed. the LtP MnBi phase is unstable for strong mechanical milling as Bi appears after milling over 7200 s in the present milling condition. Strains caused by the mechanical attrition are difficult to accumulate in the MnBi crystals, and the crystal size of the milled MnBi is only 30 nm before the presence of grains coalescence. the whole milling process can be classified into 3 stages indicated by the structural changes. Based on the structural parameter calculation, the changes of atomic configurations in every stage have been discussed. the existence of Bi equivalent vacancy site is considered to play an important role in the disordering processes of Mn and Bi atoms.

In this study,the effects of stacked nanosheets and the surrounding interphase zone on the resistance of the contact region between nanosheets and the tunneling conductivity of samples are evaluated with developed equations superior to those previously *** contact resistance and nanocomposite conductivity are modeled by several influencing factors,including stack properties,interphase depth,tunneling size,and contact *** developed model's accuracy is verified through numerous experimental *** further validate the models and establish correlations between parameters,the effects of all the variables on contact resistance and nanocomposite conductivity are ***,the contact resistance is primarily dependent on the polymer tunnel resistivity,contact area,and tunneling *** dimensions of the graphene nanosheets significantly influence the conductivity,which ranges from 0 S/m to90 S/*** increased number of nanosheets in stacks and a larger gap between them enhance the nanocomposite's ***,the thicker interphase and smaller tunneling size can lead to higher sample conductivity due to their optimistic effects on the percolation threshold and network efficacy.

Hepatocellular Carcinoma Incidence and Mortality in the USA by Sex, Age, and Race: A Nationwide Analysis of two Decades

Background and Aims:While the incidence rates of hepa-tocellular carcinoma(HCC)are increasing,there are limited comprehensive data on demographic-specific incidence and mortality trends in the *** aimed to evaluate recent trends in HCC incidence and mortality among different de-mographic groups in the ***:Age-adjusted HCC incidence rates were calculated from the Centers for Disease Control's United States Cancer Statistics database,which combines incidence data on newly diagnosed cancer cases and covers approximately 98%of the population in the ***,age-adjusted HCC mortality rates were obtained from the Centers for Disease Control's National Center for Health Statistics database,which offers comprehensive Cov-erage spanning nearly 100%of deaths attributed to HCC in the *** were stratified by sex,age(older[≥55 years]and younger[ts),race and ethnicity(Non-Hispanic White,Non-Hispanic Black,Hispanic,Non-Hispanic Asian/Pacific Islander,and Non-Hispanic American Indian/Alaska Native),and tumor stage at diagnosis(early and late).Annual and average annual percentage change(AAPC)were calculated using joinpoint regression.A sex-specific pairwise comparison was ***:Between 2001 and 2020,there were 467,346 patients diagnosed with HCC(26.0%women),with increasing incidence in both sexes without significant difference(p=0.65).In younger adults(78,169 patients),the incidence decreased in men but not in women(AAPC difference=-2.39,p=0.002).this was seen in various racial and ethnic groups,mostly driven by early-stage tumors(AAPC difference=-2.65,p=0.02).there were 329,973 deaths attributed to HCC between 2000 and 2020(28.4%women).In younger adults(43,093 deaths),mortal-ity decreased in men at a greater rate than in women(AAPC difference=1.61,p=0.007).this was seen in various racial and ethnic groups,most notably in non-Hispanic American Indian/Alaska Natives(AAPC difference=-4.51,p=0.01).Conclusions:Nationwide USA data,coveri

Upper Bainite Formation Mechanism in Fe-1.36Si-1.01Cr-0.88C Steel

In this paper it is-discussed on the mechanism of upper bainite formation. According to the results obtained in Fe-1.36Si-1.01Cr-0.88C steel, we discovered that the primary upper bainite is formed by subunits arranging along its long axis and steps are formed by subunits growing into different size-along the thickness, the macro-plane of the primary upper bainite plate is the same as the basal plane (shear plane), the formation mechanism of the primary upper bainite plate is the nucleation-growth mechanism of subunits shearing one by one along long axis, controlled by diffusion.

Antitrypanosomal potentials of the extract and fractions of Abrus precatorius seeds

Objective:to evaluate the in vivo trypanocidal activity of the methanol extract and fractions of Abrus precatorius seeds in ***:Parasiteamia was induced unto mice by intraperitoneal injection of 1.25×105 trypanosoma in normal *** days when a high level of parasiteamia was established treatment commenced until ten *** mice were treated with 10,20 and 40 mg/kg *** the extract and 5 and 10 mg/kg *** the fraction（F2）,respectively for 5 *** acelurate at the dose of 3.5 mg/kg *** two days was used as the reference *** level of parasitaemia and packed cell volume（PCV） of the animals estimated. Results:At doses of 10,20 and 40 mg/kg the crude extract showed a sharp reduction in the level of parasitaemia in mice compared with the untreated *** mice treated with F,at doses of 5 and 10 mg/kg showed a sharp reduction in the level of parasitamia to zero in day 9,and a gradual recovery from the 12th day of *** effect is comparable to that of the mice treated with 7 mg/kg of standard drug diminazene *** PCV of the treated showed a gradual decrease with time,but not as much as the untreated *** screening revealed the presence of glycosides,alkaloids,carbohydrates,tannins and proteins in the Abrus precatorius powder while F2 was rich in ***:this study shows that both the extract and the fractions of Abrus precatorius seeds exhibited a promising trypanocidal *** may be responsible for the observed activity.

tRODUCtIONthe macrolide clarithromycin has emerged as the most important antibiotic in combined therapy for eradication of H. Pylori infection［1,2］. However, concerns about increasing clarithromycin resistance in H. Pylori and its impact on the efficacy of eradication therapy have been raised since its widespread acceptance in H. Pylori therapy［3,4］. Here, we sought to review the geographic prevalence of clarithromycin resistance in H. Pylori and its molecular mechanisms, and assess the clinical relevance of clarithromycin resistance.

With electron microscopic investigation, the configuration of dislocations in an aged Cu-25.72Zn-4.21Al (wt-%) shape memory alloy was found to be in the form of superdislocations and their jogs, which were different from the preferential dislocations regularly aligned in an unaged alloy. these defects generated during aging treatment were considered to be responsible for low fatigue life.

Objective:Aqueous extracts of Zapoteca portoricensis are used traditionally as antidiarrhea agent and in the treatment of diverse gastrointestinal disorders here in Nigeria specifically,the southern ***,the aqueous extract of the plant is also used traditionally as anticonvulsant,antispasmodic and in the treatment of *** too,the anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial activities of the methanol extracts of the root of Zapoteca portoricensis was *** this research,we are set to investigate the trypanocidal activity of Zapoteca ***:the methanol extract of the root of Zapoteca portoricensis was investigated for both in vitro and in vivo trypanocidal activity following established *** summary,phytochemical analysis was carried out on both the crude powdered root and on the methanol extract following standard procedures. the oral acute toxicity test(LD50 ) of the crude methanol extract was determined according to the method described by Lorke（1983）.Albino mice（17g-21g） of either sex were *** methanol extract was suspended in 3%v/v tween 85 and administered orally at doses of 10 mg/kg,100 mg/kg and 1 000 mg/kg to three groups of mice（n = 3 ）.the animals were observed for 24 *** on the result obtained in this initial test,doses of 4 mg/kg,6 mg/kg,and 8 mg/kg were administered to three different *** LD50 was calculated as the geometric mean of the lowest dose killing a mouse and the highest dose showing no *** invivo /in-vitro antitrypanosomal evaluations were carried out in experimental animals and tissue cell culture respectively.
