Major depressive disorder(MDD)and type 2 diabetes(t2D)are two common complex multifactorial disorders that share several genetic and environmental risk factors such as hypercortisolism and related genes'riskvariants within the stress response and the neuroendocrine hypothalamicpituitary *** stress,the pituitary gland releases prolactin(PRL),whose effects are pleiotropic and include mood control and insulin secretion from the beta cells.1 Variations in the prolactin receptor(PRLR)gene are associated in rodent models with stress level,depressionlike behavior,2 and hepatic insulin sensitivity3 and in humans with maternal glucose homeostasis and gestational diabetes.

Melatonin is an endogenous monoamine hormone secreted by the pineal *** signaling has been shown to play a role in circadian rhythm regulation,lipid and glucose metabolism,and obesity,and it has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant *** melatonin receptor 1B gene(MtNR1B)is expressed in,among other tissues,the brain and pancreatic beta cells,and risk variants for t2D have been reported as impairing early insulin secretion and increasing fasting glucose levels.^(1) Variants in the MtNR1B gene also have been reported in patients with depression(MDD).

AIM: to compare adherence, response, and remission with light treatment in African-American and Caucasian patients with Seasonal Affective ***: Seventy-eight study participants, agerange 18-64(51 African-Americans and 27 Caucasians)recruited from the Greater Baltimore Metropolitan area, with diagnoses of recurrent mood disorder with seasonal pattern, and confirmed by a Structured Clinical Interview for the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders-Ⅳ, were enrolled in an open label study of daily bright light treatment. the trial lasted6 wk with flexible dosing of light starting with 10000 lux bright light for 60 min daily in the morning. At the end of six weeks there were 65 completers. three patients had Bipolar Ⅱ disorder and the remainder had Major depressive disorder. Outcome measures were remission(score ≤ 8) and response(50% reduction)in symptoms on the Structured Interview Guide for the Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression(SIGH-SAD)as well as symptomatic improvement on SIGH-SAD and Beck Depression Inventory-Ⅱ. Adherence was measured using participant daily log. Participant groups were compared using t-tests, chi square, linear and logistic regressions. RESULtS: the study did not find any significant group difference between African-Americans and their Caucasian counterparts in adherence with light treatment as well as in symptomatic *** symptomatic improvement and rate of treatment response were not different between the two groups,African-Americans, after adjustment for age, gender and adherence, achieved a significantly lower remission rate(African-Americans 46.3%; Caucasians 75%; P =0.02).CONCLUSION: this is the first study of light treatment in African-Americans, continuing our previous work reporting a similar frequency but a lower awareness of SAD and its treatment in African-Americans. Similar rates of adherence, symptomatic improvement and treatment response suggest that light treatment is a feasible, acceptable,

this paper reports results from the multicolor photometric observations of 15 pre-main sequence stars collected in the period September 2010-October 2017. the stars from our study are located in the star-forming HII region IC 5070. these objects were previously detected as either emission line stars, flare stars, t tauri variables or Herbig Ae/Be stars. Photometric observations, especially concerning the long-term behavior of the objects, are missing in the literature. We present the first photometric monitoring for all stars from our study. the analysis of the obtained BV RI photometric data allows us to draw the conclusion that all investigated objects are variable stars. In the case of LkHα 146,we identified previously unknown periodicity in its photometric variability.

Fungi are eukaryotes that play essential roles in *** fungi,Basidiomycota is one of the major phyla with more than 40,000 described *** review species diversity of Basidiomycota from five groups with different lifestyles or habitats:saprobic in grass/forest litter,wood-decaying,yeast-like,ectomycorrhizal,and plant *** studies of Agaricus,Cantharellus,Ganoderma,Gyroporus,Russula,tricholoma,and groups of lichenicolous yeast-like fungi,rust fungi,and smut fungi are used to determine trends in discovery of *** each case study,the number of new species published during 2009–2020 is analysed to determine the rate of *** rates differ between taxa and reflect different states of progress for species discovery in different *** results showed that lichenicolous yeast-like taxa had the highest publication rate for new species in the past two decades,and it is likely this trend will continue in the next *** species discovery rate of plant parasitic basidiomycetes was low in the past ten years,and remained constant in the past 50 *** also found that the establishment of comprehensive and robust taxonomic systems based on a joint global initiative by mycologists could promote and standardize the recognition of *** estimated that more than 54,000 species of Basidiomycota will be discovered by 2030,and estimate a total of 1.4–4.2 million species of Basidiomycota *** numbers illustrate a huge gap between the described and yet unknown diversity in Basidiomycota.

Long-term BVRI photometric light curves of the pre-main sequence stars V977 Cep and V982 Cep during the period from 2000 October to 2016 August are presented. the stars are located in the vicinity of the reflection nebula NGC 7129. Our photometric data show that both stars exhibit strong photometric variability in all optical passbands, which is typical for Classical t tauri stars. Using our observational data we analyze the reasons for the observed brightness variations. In the case of V977 Cep we identify previously unknown periodicity in its light curve.

AIM to study the morphology of the enteric nervous system and the expression of beta-2 adrenergic(B2A) receptors in primary colorectal *** In this study, we included forty-eight patients with primary colorectal cancer and nine patients for control tissue from the excision of a colonic segment for benign conditions. We determined the clinicopathological features and evaluated the immunohistochemical expression pattern of B2 A receptors as well as the morphological changes of the enteric nervous system(ENS). In order to assess statistical differences, we used the student t-test for comparing the means of two groups and one-way analysis of variance with Bonferroni's post hoc analysis for comparing the means of more than two groups. Correlations were assessed using the Pearson's correlation *** B2 A receptors were significantly associated with tumor grading, tumor size, tumor invasion, lymph node metastasis(P there were no statistically significant associations with gender, CRC location and gross appearance(P > 0.05). We observed, on one hand, a decrease of the relative area for both Auerbach and Meissner plexuses with the increase of the tumor grading, and on the other hand, an increase of the relative area of other nervous elements not in the Meissner plexus or in the Auerbach plexus with the tumor grading. For G1 tumors we found that epithelial B2 A area showed an inverse correlation with the Auerbach plexus areas [r(14) =-0.531, P tumors, epithelial B2 A areas showed an indirect variation with both the Auerbach plexus areas [r(14) =-0.453, P the Meissner areas [r(14) =-0.825, P tumors, the inverse dependence increased for both Auerbach [r(14) =-0.587, P tors play an important role in colorectal carcinogenesis and can be utilized as prognostic factors. the identification of jets originating from quarks and gluons,often referred to as quark/gluon tagging,plays an important role in various analyses performed at the Large Hadron Collider,as Standard Model measurements and searches for new particles decaying to quarks often rely on suppressing a large gluon-induced *** paper describes the measurement of the efficiencies of quark/gluon taggers developed within the AtLAS Collaboration,using √s=13 teV proton–proton collision data with an integrated luminosity of 140 fb^(-1) collected by the AtLAS *** taggers with high performances in rejecting jets from gluon over jets from quarks are studied:one tagger is based on requirements on the number of inner-detector tracks associated with the jet,and the other combines several jet substructure observables using a boosted decision tree.A method is established to determine the quark/gluon fraction in data,by using quark/gluon-enriched subsamples defined by the jet *** in tagging efficiency between data and simulation are provided for jets with transverse momentum between 500 GeV and 2 teV and for multiple tagger working points.
