Influence maximization with limit cost in social network

Social networking service (SNS) applications are changing the way information spreads in online communities. As real social relationships are projected into SNS applications, word of mouth has been an important factor in the information spreading processes of those applications. By assuming each user needs a cost to accept some specific information, this paper studies the initial "seed user" selection strategy to maximize information spreading in a social network with a cost budget. The main contributions of this paper are: 1) proposing a graphic SEIR model (gSEIR) by extending the epidemic compartmental model to simulate the dynamic information spreading process between individuals in the social network; 2) proposing a formal definition for the influence maximization problem with limit cost (IMLC) in social networks, and proving that this problem can be transformed to the weighted set-cover problem (WSCP) and thus is NP-Complete; 3) providing four different greedy algorithms to solve the IMLC problem; 4) proposing a heuristic algorithm based on the method of Lagrange multipliers (HILR) for the same problem; 5) providing two parts of experiments to test the proposed models and algorithms in this paper. In the first part, we verify that gSEIR can generate similar macro-behavior as an SIR model for the information spreading process in an online community by combining the micro-behaviors of all the users in that community, and that gSEIR can also simulate the dynamic change process of the statuses of all the individuals in the corresponding social networks during the information spreading process. In the second part, by applying the simulation result from gSEIR as the prediction of information spreading in the given social network, we test the effectiveness and efficiency of all provided algorithms to solve the influence maximization problem with cost limit. The result show that the heuristic algorithm HILR is the best for the IMLC problem.

Due to protection of extracellular polymeric substances,the therapeutic efficiency of conventional antimicrobial agents is often impeded by their poor infiltration and accumulation in ***,one type of surface charge adaptable nitric oxide(NO)nanogenerator was developed for biofilm permeation,retention and *** nanogenerator(PDG@Au-NO/PBAM)is composed of a core-shell structure:thermo-sensitive NO donor conjugated AuNPs on cationic poly(dopamine-co-glucosamine)nanoparticle(PDG@Au-NO)served as core,and anionic phenylboronic acid-acryloylmorpholine(PBAM)copolymer was employed as a *** NO nanogenerator featured long circulation and good *** the nanogenerator reached acidic biofilm,its surface charge would be switched to positive after shell dissociation and cationic core exposure,which was conducive for the nanogenerator to infiltrate and accumulate in the depth of *** addition,the nanogenerator could sustainably generate NO to disturb the integrity of biofilm at physiological temperature,then generate hyperthermia and explosive NO release upon NIR irradiation to efficiently eradicate drug-resistant bacteria *** rational design offers a promising approach for developing nanosystems against biofilm-associated infections.

The emergence of human coronaviruses(HCoVs),especially the current pandemic caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2),engender severe threats to public health *** the outstanding breakthrough of new vaccines and therapeutic medicines in the past years,HCoVs still undergo unpredictable mutations,thus demanding more effective diagnostic and therapeutic *** from the unique physicochemical properties and multiple nano-bio interactions,nanomaterials hold promising potential to fight against various HCoVs,either by providing sensitive and economic nanosensors for rapid viral detection,or by developing translatable nanovaccines and broad-spectrum nanomedicines for HCoV ***,we systemically summarized the recent applications of nanoagents in diagnostics and therapeutics for HCoV-induced diseases,as well as their limitations and perspectives against HCoV *** believe this review will promote the design of innovative theranostic nanoagents for the current and future HCoV-caused pandemics.

The paper proposes a new text similarity computing method based on concept similarity in Chinese text processing. The new method converts text to words vector space model at first, and then splits words into a set of concepts. Through computing the inner products between concepts, it obtains the similarity between words. The new method computes the similarity of text based on the similarity of words at last. The contributions of the paper include： 1） propose a new computing formula between words; 2） propose a new text similarity computing method based on words similarity; 3） successfully use the method in the application of similarity computing of WEB news; and 4） prove the validity of the method through extensive experiments.

Recently,Peter et al reported a novel form of cell death(cuproptosis)that was different from other known death mechanisms.1 They found that accumulation of copper ions could induce destabilization of Fe-S cluster proteins and aggregation of mitochondrial lipoylated proteins,ultimately resulting in cuproptosis.1 of note,ten genes were identified as cuproptosis-related genes(CRGs)in copper ion-induced cell death,including PDHB,PDHA1,DLAT,DLD,LIPT1,LIAS,FDX1,CDKN2A,GLS,and MTF1.1 Since dysregulation of copper metabolism is involved in many cancers,cuproptosis and CRGs may play vital roles in cancer development and treatment.1.2 Herein,our pancancer analysis revealed the coordinated upregulation of 9 of 10 CRGs in human liver hepatocellular carcinoma(LIHC)across 33 solid tumors(Fig.S1A;Fig.1A),suggesting the distinct role of CRGs in *** then explored the genetic landscape,biological function,and clinical significance of CRGs in LIHC,and validated our bioinformatic findings by in vitro experiments and clinical *** detailed methods were described in the supplementary material.

Role of PIVKA-II in screening for malignancies at a hepatobiliary andpancreatic disease center: A large-scale real-world study

Background and aims:Protein induced by vitamin K absence or antagonist II(PIVKA-II)is a well-accepted biomarker for diagnosing hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).Although nonspecific increase of PIVKA-II has been reported,real-world evidence remains *** on real-world data,this study aimed to comprehensively describe the use of PIVKA-II at a hepatobiliary and pancreatic disease center and to assess its utility for the initial screening of HCC or other hepatobiliary–pancreatic ***:This real-world retrospective study is based on the PIVKA-II results of 16,215 individuals and other relevant laboratory test(alpha-fetoprotein[AFP],carbohydrate antigen 19-9[CA19-9],liver function,blood coagulation indicators,hepatitis B virus,and hepatitis C virus).However,only the first PIVKA-II results of 7809 eligible individuals were ***-group comparisons,correlation analysis,and receiver operating characteristic curve analysis were ***:PIVKA-II results were abnormal in patients with HCC(55.9%),biliary carcinoma(BC,13.4%),gastroin-testinal and pancreatic cancer(6.3%),and benign diseases(23.5%)as well as in healthy individuals(0.92%).The area under the curve of PIVKA-II for detecting malignancies was 0.7754(0.7620–0.7688),whereas that for detecting HCC was 0.7509(0.7357–0.7662).Stratifying the PIVKA-II values or combining PIVKA-II with AFP or CA19-9 helped improve the diagnostic performance of PIVKA-II for ***-II values were significantly positively correlated with AST in patients with HCC and with bilirubin in patients with ***:This study determined the role of PIVKA-II in malignancy screening at hepatobiliary and pancreatic disease *** was also noted that the diagnostic efficacy of PIVKA-II for HCC improved after combining PIVKA-II with AFP or stratifying its value.

RPK-table based efficient algorithm for join-aggregate query on MapReduce

Join-aggregate is an important and widely used operation in database system. However, it is time-consuming to process join-aggregate query in big data environment, especially on MapReduce framework. The main bottlenecks contain two aspects： lots of I/O caused by temporary data and heavy communication overhead between different data nodes during query processing. To overcome such disadvantages, we design a data structure called Reference Primary Key table （RPK-table） which stores the relationship of primary key and foreign key between tables. Based on this structure, we propose an improved algorithm on MapReduce framework for join-aggregate query. Experi-ments on TPC-H dataset demonstrate that our algorithm outperforms existing methods in terms of communication cost and query response time.
