Prevalenc. of Musc.loskeletal Pain and Postural Deformity in Papad Making Women —A c.oss-Sec.ional Observational Study

Aim and Objec.ive: To study musc.loskeletal problems like musc.loskeletal pain, postural deformity and nerve radic.lopathy in women engaged in Papad making by c.inic.l assessment. Methodology: A c.oss-sec.ional observational survey c.rried out at Shri. Mahila Gruh Udyog Lijjat Papad, Nandanvan, Nagpur (2014). 50 female subjec.s were selec.ed for the study. After taking permission from fac.ory in-c.arge, the survey was c.nduc.ed at the fac.ory site and subjec.s were explained about the study in details in language they c.n understand. c.nsent form was obtained by subjec.s to partic.pate. Data were c.llec.ed by interview and c.inic.l examination of women engaged in this oc.upation, As per proforma of musc.loskeletal examination. Result: Almost 37 subjec.s out of 50 c.mplaints about low bac. pain as a c.ief c.mplaint followed by nec. pain in 34, thorac.c.kyphosis was more profound postural deviation seen in 10 subjec.s. Paraspinal and c.lf musc.e spasm is more c.mmon. Radiating pain and numbness more in dominant hand suggestive of involvement of median nerve were c.nfirmed by Upper Limb Trac.ion Test [ULTT]. Disc.ssion: Soc.oec.nomic.status greatly influenc.s the working needs of women. Shri. Mahila Gruh Udyog Lijjat Papad fac.ory provides a platform for Women Empowerment. Faulty posture adoption for longer duration during work gives rise to various musc.loskeletal problems. c.nc.usion: 74% of the study population has low bac. pain as a c.ief musc.loskeletal problem. 34% present with postural deviation and 82% belong to poor soc.oec.nomic.sc.le.

Elec.roc.emic.l response of Nd3+ ions c.ntaining lithium borate glasses

The present investigation was to understand the elec.ric.l properties of 27.5 Li2O-（72.5–x） B2O3-xNd2O3with x=0.5, 1, 1.5 and 2 glasses. We analyzed the impedanc. data for a wide frequenc. range to get inside the c.nduc.ion phenomenon. The c.nduc.ivity of the glasses dec.eased due to the dec.ease in the mobility of mobile Li+ions. This dec.ease was due to polymerization of glass network c.used by the Nd3+ions. Modulus formalism c.nfirmed that the Li+ions overc.me the same barrier no matter whether it took part in the c.nduc.ion proc.ss or relaxation proc.ss. Sc.ling of the elec.roc.emic.l data showed that c.nduc.ion proc.ss in the ion c.nduc.ing glasses was c.mposition dependent and not the temperature dependent.
