In this work, we consider different numerical methods for the approximation of definite integrals. the three basic methods used here are the Midpoint, the trapezoidal, and Simpson’s rules. We trace the behavior of the error when we refine the mesh and show that Richardson’s extrapolation improves the rate of convergence of the basic methods when the integrands are sufficiently differentiable many times. However, Richardson’s extrapolation does not work when we approximate improper integrals or even proper integrals from functions without smooth derivatives. In order to save computational resources, we construct an adaptive recursive procedure. We also show that there is a lower limit to the error during computations with floating point arithmetic.

BACKGROUND:Retroperitoneal abscess is a dangerous complication of the inflammatory process in organs. the pancreas reacts by enzymatic autodigestion and inflammation to external and internal factors:alcohol abuse,trauma,biliary stones,and viral infections. Chronic pancreatitis and formation of pseudocysts are late *** diffuse spread of pancreatic inflammation may form a retroperitoneal phlegmon.A better outcome is the limitation of the process by capsule formation-retroperitoneal abscess. MEtHODS:A 62-year-old man,with a history of alcohol abuse,was admitted for intermittent abdominal pain,fever, and significant weight *** medical consultations (laboratory tests,US,Ct)confirmed chronic pancreatitis with pseudocyst formation.A new Ct depicted a giant retroperitoneal abscess. RESULtS:After preoperative preparation with antibiotics, laparotomy and internal drainage-longitudinal cystoje- junostomy with Roux-en-Y loop were *** the 8th postoperative day the patient was in good condition. CONCLUSIONS:Giant retroperitoneal abscess is a dangerous pathology with significant mortality and *** strongly necessitates operative intervention in order to evacuate and drain the *** include one internal drainage(in the GI tract) with the stomach,duodenum,or jejunum,which does not cause early and late GI discomfort and will gradually liquidate the *** propose internal drainage with Roux-en-Y jejunal loop as the only method for accomplishing these conditions in cases of giant retroperitoneal abscesses.

the hydrophobic cuticle encasing the fruit skin surface plays critical roles during fruit development and *** failure often results in the fruit surface cracking and forming a wound-periderm tissue made of suberin and *** factors that make the fruit skin susceptible to cracking have yet to be fully ***,we investigated two varieties of chili peppers(Capsicum annuum L.),Numex Garnet,whose fruit has intact skin,and Vezena Slatka,whose fruit has cracked *** observations,gas chromatography-mass spectrometry,biochemical and gene expression assays revealed that Vezena Slatka fruit form a thicker cuticle with greater levels of cutin monomers and hydroxycinnamic acids,and highly express key cutin-related *** skin of these fruit also had a lower epidermal cell density due to cells with very large perimeters,and highly express genes involved in epidermal cell *** demonstrate that skin cracking in the Vezena Slatka fruit is accompanied by a spatial accumulation of lignin-like polyphenolic compounds,without the formation of a typical wound-periderm tissues made of suberized ***,we establish that skin cracking in chili-type pepper significantly affects fruit quality during post-harvest storage in a temperature-dependent *** conclusion,our data highlight cuticle thickness and epidermal cell density as two critical factors determining fruit skin susceptibility to cracking in chili-type pepper fruit.

Appreciation of soft-tissue thickness(Stt)at surgical sites is an increasingly recognized aspect of arthroplasty procedures as it may potentially impacting postoperative *** research has focused on the predictive value of preoperative Stt measurements for complications following various forms of arthroplasty,particularly infections,across procedures such as total knee,hip,shoulder,and ankle *** studies have indicated that increased Stt is associated with a higher risk of complications,including infection and wound healing *** assessment of Stt before surgery could play a crucial role in identifying patients at a higher risk of complications and may be instru-mental in guiding preoperative planning to optimize outcomes in arthroplasty *** measurement techniques and further research are essential to enhance the reliability and clinical utility of Stt assessment for arthro-plasty surgery.

Comparative Analysis of Site Preparation Costs of Poplar Plantations Establishment by Various technological Schemes

In this work, the costs for machinery and all means for site preparation of forest clearings for afforestation with intensivepoplar plantations were studied by applying various technological schemes. For this purpose, three technological schemes （tS1,tS2and tS3）, applying in Bulgaria, were studied. By applying the respective technological scheme, the site preparation was performedentirely with a milling aggregate Pt-400, equipped with multifunctional forest tiller FAE-300/S. the processes of shredding stumps,mulching clearing debris and bushes, and primary tillage of the soil up to depth of 50 cm were examined. the survey was conductedin poplar clearings along the river Danube, over alluvial moderately moist soil. A new categorization of the poplar clearings isproposed depending on the operating conditions. the performance of the milling unit and the relative costs for labor, machinery andmeans for site preparation per unit area were defined. Depending on the category of poplar clearings, total cost for site preparationapplying the studied technology vary between 27.6 h/ha and 29.3 h/ha, which at current prices of 53.5 ∈/h for the operation of Pt-400with FAE 300/S is between ∈1,478/ha and ∈1,569/ha. to conduct comparative analysis of the new technology and the oldtechnologies under similar operating conditions, the relatively costs for site preparation of the previously applied technologies whichuse rotary and tooth uprooter machines are defmed. According to the applied technological scheme and used machines in differentcategories, clearings costs for land preparation vary between ∈1,230/ha and ∈3,300/ha. Based on comparative analysis, it is designeda new technological scheme for afforestation with poplar plantations in riverside clearings, where by ensuring high quality work, thecosts for site preparation become lower （24.2-25.9 h/ha） and thus cost from ∈993/ha to 61,084/ha is achieved.
