Introduction: Skin transplant is essential in the management of skin substance losses, especially in deep burns. Our work aims to present, through a series of cases, the results of the skin self-transplant carried out to supplement the treatment of skin burns. Materials and Methods: A one-year prospective study of the total self-skin transplant performed in the management of burns in children was included. After clinic and biologic considerations, a total self-skin transplant was performed. Results: Forty-five burns were hospitalized, of which six patients received a total self-skin transplant. The average age was 7.43 years with male predominance. Unlike most fluids,granular materials include coexisting solid,liquid or gaseous regions,which produce a rich variety of complex *** flows of grains driven by gravity down inclines occur in nature and in *** describe the granular flow on an inclined surface,several studies were carried *** can cite in particular the description of Saint-Venant which considers a dry granular flow,without cohesion and it only takes into account the substance-substrate friction,this model proposes a simplified form of the granular flow,which depends on the one side on the angle of inclination of the substrate with respect to the horizontal plane and on the other side on the thickness of the substance *** numerical simulation we have developed is first based on the Saint-Venant model,it allowed us to visualize the variation of the speed according to the thickness of the substance(from 0 to H)and to deduce the average speed of the substance on an inclined ***,this restrictive model does not take into account the effect of particle friction on the flow and considers that the thickness H is *** make our simulation more realistic,we opted for the Savage-Hatter *** took into account the variation of the thickness on the particles speed,in addition we have studied the effect of the variation of many parameters on the granular flow,namely the temperature and the roughness of the substrate,the density and the compactness of the substance,we found that the speed of the particles increases and the treatment time decreases with an increase in temperature.

The successful manufacture of thick composites is challenging since the highly exothermic nature of thermoset resins and limited temperature control make avoiding the onset of detrimental thermal gradients within the composite relatively *** phenomenon is mainly caused by exothermic heat *** so-called Michaud's model has been largely used in the literature to reduce the gap between experience and simulation with regard to the effective prediction of the temperature cycle in these *** this work,another solution is proposed to simulate the curing process for thick composites,namely preheating the resin to activate the curing reaction before resin injection into the mold.A good agreement between the experiment and the simulation is ***,in order to minimize the thermal gradient in the final composite,the thermophysical properties of the fiber and the torque(temperature,time)of the Plate have been varied leading to interesting results.

The Experience of Pain and Anxiety in Cervical Cancer Patients Undergoing Multiple Fraction High-Dose Rate Brachytherapy: A Prospective Observational Study

Purpose: To evaluate the anxiety and pain levels of cervical cancer patients undergoing intracavitary multifraction high-dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy, as part of a process to develop guidelines for quality patient-centered care. Methods: Cervical cancer patients (n = 31) undergoingmultiple fraction HDR brachytherapy treatment at the National Institute of Oncology in Rabat (Morocco) completed ratings of pain and anxiety intensity using 11-point verbal analog scales, at 6 key time points over 2 brachytherapy insertion procedures and 4 brachytherapy fractions. Women were evaluated for psychological status at baseline before starting the brachytherapy process using the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS). Scores were grouped as follows: 0 - 7 = normal, 8 - 10 = borderline, 11 - 21 = abnormal. Factors that could affect anxiety levels such as education level, relationship status, number of pregnancies and prior surgical history were documented. Results: Between July and August 2020, 31 women with a median age of 49.6 years were evaluated (range: 27 - 70). The HADS score identified depression in 5 patients (16.1%) and anxiety in 12 patients (38.7%). Throughout both treatment procedures, anticipatory anxiety was reported, with a maximum intensity in the operating room during spinal anesthesia (3.23 ± 1.7) and during applicator insertion (2.97 ± 2.4). Moderate-to-severe anxiety scores were reported in 25.8% and 22.6% of patients respectively. Level of education showed a significant correlation with anxiety scores (p = 0.027). Pain increased significantly during the procedure (p ± 1.4) and applicator removal (4.74 ± 1.5) turned out to be the most painful parts of the procedure. No correlation was found between pain and anxiety levels. Conclusion: Intracavitary multifraction high-dose rate brachytherapy is associated with mild to moderate levels of pain and anxiety, although a subset of patients reported more severe symptoms and may require additional medical and psy

Introduction: External-beam radiation therapy boost is a treatment option in cervical cancer when brachytherapy is not feasible. Though less effective than brachytherapy, some encouraging results have been reported from some institutions experiences. We conducted this study to assess outcomes of EBRT boost for our patients at National Institute of Oncology in Rabat. Patients and Methods: We collected data from patients treated for cervical cancer between January 2012 and December 2015. Patients, tumor and treatment characteristics were collected. Overall survival (OS), disease-free survival (DFS) and prognostic factors influencing DFS were assessed. Results: One hundred and thirty-three patients were enrolled. Median age was 52 years. Patient haemoglobin level ranged from 3.9 to 15.5 g/dl [mean: 11.2 g/dl]. Most tumors were classified stage III/IVA (63.2%) according to the FIGO classification. Regional lymph node metastases (pelvic and or para-aortic) were observed in 45.1%. Median total dose to tumor was 69.6 Gy (ranging from 66 to 70 Gy). Overall treatment time was protracted, with a median of 60 days. Most of patients received concurrent chemotherapy (94.7%) and the number of cycle ranged from 2 to 7 (median = 5). The follow-up median was 31.3 months, ranging from 6.2 to 96.8 months. At the first visit, most patients achieved complete response (80.5%). Five years OS and DFS were 47% and 44% respectively. Background: Hypovitaminosis D is reported through the literature to be involved in autoimmune diseases such as multiple sclerosis (MS). In the last decade, numerous studies have investigated the association of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) with MS, including rs2248359 (CYP24A1) and rs703842 (CYP27B1) that are involved in vitamin D metabolic pathway. However, results were conflicting, probably due to ethnic differences between the studied populations. In this context, the present study aimed to analyze the association between these two SNPs and MS within the Moroccan population. Methods: rs2248359 and rs703842 were genotyped in 113 patients and 146 healthy controls. To assess their association with the disease risk, we compared the genotypic and allelic frequencies between the study groups. We also explored their possible influence on certain clinical features (age at onset, type, disability status and severity score) and with vitamin D3 serum level (DSL) by comparing mean values of these variables between the different genotypes. Results: No statistically significant differences in the distribution of both SNPs were found between patients and controls. A trend has emerged concerning the minor G allele of rs703842 which appears to have a protective effect on developing MS, but this result remained slightly below significance. Also, the two polymorphisms had no impact on the clinical features tested and the DSL. Conclusion: There is no convincing evidence that rs2248359 and rs703842 are associated with MS risk, its clinical features or vitamin D level in Moroccans. Further larger investigations are needed to confirm these findings.
