The results of new experimental measurements of p^16O elastic scattering in the energy range of 0.6–1.0MeV at angles of 40°–160° are given. Phase shift analysis of p^（16）O elastic scattering was made using these and other experimental data on differential cross sections in excitation functions and angular distributions at energies of up to 2.5 Me V.

The objective of the study is to assess the role of MMP-9, TIMP-1 ＆ 2 as non-invasive markers of liver fibrosis in the NAFLD. The 99 patients with NAFLD and different stages of fibrosis were examined. We assessed of anthropometric indicators, biochemical analysis of blood, abdominal ultrasonic studies, the levels of MMP-9, TIMP-1 ＆ 2. According of results of elastometry, patients were divided into five groups： n = 27, n = 22, n = 23, n = 14, n = 13, respectively, depending on the stage of fibrosis （0-4）. Between the groups in physical examination, no significant differences in BMI and W/H were found. 64.6% of patients had abdominal obesity （BMI： 31.5 （29.1-33.9）, W/H： 1.02 （1.01-1.05））. Obesity and abdominal obesity （BMland W/H） had a significant positive relationship of moderate streight （rs = 0.257, p 〈 0.04 and rs = 0.301, p 〈 0.02, respectively）, with the stage of liver fibrosis. The groups were significant differences in the level of glucose, total bilirubin （p 〈 0.04, p 〈 0.03, respectively）. No significant differences in the level of liver function tests （ALT and AST） in the study groups were found. Significant differences were found in level of TIMP-2 （p 〈 0.04）. TIMP-2 had a significant positive correlation with the severity of fibrosis in the hepatic tissue （rs = 0.349, p 〈 0.004）. TIMP-2 may be considered as a potential non-invasive marker for the diagnosis of liver fibrosis in patients with NAFLD.

AIM： To investigate results availability from clinical studies enrolling Russian subjects and Russian clinical research ***： We analyzed Russian legislation and ethi-cal regulations about drug and devices approval, clini-cal research registration and the results availability. In August 2012, we searched International Clinical Trials Registry Platform and *** to fnd all regis-tered studies that had an investigational site in the ter-ritory of the Russian Federation. To fnd publication sta-tus, we searched the PubMed and Scirus bibliographical databases with trial registration number to fnd journal publications of the registered ***： We identifed 2062 registered research pro-tocols comprising 2017 international and 45 protocols sponsored by the Russian funding agencies. The num-ber of the studies enrolling Russian subjects increased dramatically from three studies in 2002 to 252 studies in 2012. Most studies （92%） were funded exclusively by industry, were interventions （94.6%）, examined drugs （87%） and enrolled exclusively adults （86%） of both genders （89%）. Only 383 （19%） of multinational stud-ies and two （4.4%） of exclusively Russian studies werepublished. Posting of patient outcomes was available for 16% of the trials that recruited trial participants in the Russian territory including one study funded exclu-sively by Russian sponsors. Investigators terminated 99 studies of 38111 participants and did not provide the results in *** or in published manuscripts. Federal laws require clinical study registration and con-fict of interest disclosure. However, routine monitoring of compliance to clinical research policy is not ***： Russian legislation does not guarantee the availability of clinical research results. Russian leg-islation should mandate transparent evidence- based market approval of the drugs and devices.

Groundwater Contribution to Surface Water Contamination in a North German Low Land Catchment with Intensive Agricultural Land Use

The contribution of groundwater (GW) to the nitrate loads in surface waters (SW) was exemplarily studied for the river Augraben with a catchment area of 89.9 km2, located in north eastern Germany. The study uses available GW and SW quality data in order to develop a relationship between SW and GW in the Augraben catchment. The calculated ratio of base flow varies from 40% to 80% using various filtering methods of hydrograph separation methods (without taking into account the drainage) in comparison to a calculated GW infiltration of 5% - 7% applying Darcy’s law (upper unconfined aquifer). Drainage was estimated as the difference in base flow obtained through filtering methods of hydrograph separation and the Darcy’s law. Results on the basis of monitoring data and hydrograph separation in quick flow and base flow showed that during winter periods, high concentration in SW has been found parallel to periods of higher GW flow with a strong correlation between SW and GW concentrations. These findings also coincided with the non-vegetation period, i.e. low nitrogen uptake by plants. Overall, nitrate-nitrogen loads at the SW monitoring point (Bei Lindenberg represents the 85% area of the catchment) were 193.5, 97.72, and 122 tons for the year 2010, 2011 and 2012 respectively. Measured GW concentrations in the catchment differ strongly, depending on land use, with elevated concentrations in agricultural areas compared to monitoring points in grass land and in forest areas. In one GW monitoring station, NO3 concentrations exceed the maximum permissible limits (MPL) according to EU water quality standards (MPL = 50 mg/l NO3), up to factor two. High ammonia concentrations at another station may be due to excessive application of manure. The contribution of the different sub-catchments to nitrate load in SW can be ranked in decreasing order in Zone B, D, A and C. Construction of debris flow protection structures is impossible without studying the processes first. Therefore, the purpose of this research was to calculate the magnitude of debris flows in three study areas. Initial information was provided by JSC Sevkavgiprovodkhoz and the Research Center “Geodinamika”. The first object of this research was the river Ardon and its tributary the Buddon, because of disastrous consequences for Mizur village of passed debris flows and floods. Modeling of unsteady water movement was carried out for estimation of potential flooding. During modeling, 5 cases of flash floods and debris flows of various probabilities from 0.5% to 1% percent were considered. Therefore, maximum floods for the cross-sections above and in the Mizur village itself were obtained. The second study area was the Chat-Bash stream, which is also situated in the north of Caucasus mountains. For this stream, the maximum discharge that could impact the mining complex at Tyrnyauz was determined. The third study area was the Krasnoselskaia river due to frequent floods in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. Applying three cases of various probabilities from 10% to 0.1%, the model determined maximum discharge and water level for the last cross-section above confluence into the Susuya river. Numerical experiments for all study areas with different roughness values were conducted to identify optimal ones. Comparing the model results for all study areas with empirical formulas (Golubcov V.V., Herheulidze I.I., Kkhann, Sribnyj and ASFS of EMERCOM of Russia) revealed that formulas contain only average depth slope angle and empirical coefficients and do not allow estimating flood areas and maximum characteristics of the event with a certain degree of accuracy.

Some results of geochemical research in the Western Caucasus during the regional earthquakes

Results of geochemical researches in the Western Caucasus (South Russia) during the regional earthquakes are described. Monthly soil Rn data do not correlate with earthquakes. Daily concentrations of Rn in galleries, caves, mud volcanoes and faults increase before earthquakes and decrease after them. “Splashes” about 9 days before earthquakes in the hourly Rn data are found out. Similar “splashes” were observed in the data of a gamma background in galleries and the Earth’s surface. Concentration of CO2 in underground water was increasing more often after an earthquake. Concentration of Rn in the water was increasing before earthpquake. Strong sine wave daily variations of the soil H2 decreased during earthquakes. Concentration of some chemical elements in underground waters changed similarly Rn data before earthquakes.

Unusual carbonaceous matter, termed here chiemite, composed of more than 90% C from the Alpine Foreland at Lake Chiemsee in Bavaria, southeastern Germany has been investigated using optical and atomic force microscopy, X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy, scanning and transmission electron microscopy, high-resolution Raman spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction and differential thermal analysis, as well as by δ13 C and 14 C radiocarbon isotopic data analysis. In the pumice-like fragments, poorly ordered carbon matter co-exists with high-ordering monocrystalline α-carbyne, and contains submicrometersized inclusions of complex composition. Diamond and carbyne add to the peculiar mix of matter. The required very high temperatures and pressures for carbyne formation point to a shock event probably from the recently proposed Holocene Chiemgau meteorite impact. The carbon material is suggested to have largely formed from heavily shocked coal, vegetation like wood, and peat from the impact target area. The carbonization/coalification high PT process may be attributed to a strong shock that instantaneously caused the complete evaporation and loss of volatile matter and water, which nevertheless preserved the original cellular structure seen fossilized in many fragments. Relatively fresh wood encapsulated in the purported strongly shocked matter point to quenched carbon melt components possibly important for the discussion of survival of organic matter in meteorite impacts, implying an astrobiological relationship.
