Transformation plasticity is known to play an important role in the course of heat treatment processes, and so affect the results of heat treatment simulations, which means that the transformation plasticity coefficient is necessary to be identifies. The authors developed a new method by use of four-point bending system of a beam to identify transformation plasticity coefficient taking advantage of its easiness and high accuracy compared with other conventional methods like tension test, etc., and identified the coefficient for four kinds of steels; plane carbon steel, Cr-steel, Cr-Mo steel and bearing steel. In this paper, further experimental data are presented for the steels if the coefficient Kp during pearlite transformation depend on the applied stress. Obtained results reveals that the stress dependence of Kp is rather trivial except for uncertain tendency detected in plane carbon steel. The relation between the Kp and carbon content included is discussed in comparison with other data referred from references.

FIB Secondary Etching Method for Fabrication of Fine CNT Forest Metamaterials

Anisotropic materials, like carbon nanotubes(CNTs), are the perfect substitutes to overcome the limitations of conventional metamaterials; however, the successful fabrication of CNT forest metamaterial structures is still very challenging. In this study, a new method utilizing a focused ion beam(FIB) with additional secondary etching is presented, which can obtain uniform and fine patterning of CNT forest nanostructures for metamaterials and ranging in sizes from hundreds of nanometers to several micrometers. The influence of the FIB processing parameters on the morphology of the catalyst surface and the growth of the CNT forest was investigated, including the removal of redeposited material,decreasing the average surface roughness(from 0.45 to 0.15 nm), and a decrease in the thickness of the Fe *** results showed that the combination of FIB patterning and secondary etching enabled the growth of highly aligned, highdensity CNT forest metamaterials. The improvement in the quality of single-walled CNTs(SWNTs), defined by the very high G/D peak ratio intensity of 10.47, demonstrated successful fine patterning of CNT forest for the first time. With a FIB patterning depth of 10 nm and a secondary etching of 0.5 nm, a minimum size of 150 nm of CNT forest metamaterials was achieved. The development of the FIB secondary etching method enabled for the first time, the fabrication of SWNT forest metamaterials for the optical and infrared regime, for future applications, e.g., in superlenses, antennas,or thermal metamaterials.

This paper deals with the intermediate results of the development of a national standardized classification system called JCCS to ensure harmonized use of various kinds of information to be processed through the whole life cycle of construction projects in a nation-wide Japanese CALS/EC scheme. JCCS is planned to be a Japanese IFD and developped on the technical basis of ISO 12006-2 and 12006-3. Japan has currently no such an IFD-like library of terminologies which is to be an essential tool for the multiple and harmonized information processing, so that JCCS should be a key technology for the successful CALS/EC. First, the development concepts and related technologies are described. Second, evaluation of the current situation of information process in the construction industry is clarified, and followed by the requirements of the development of JCCS. In the main part, the current version of JCCS is outlined, major contents of which are the basic architecture of JCCS, JCCS schema, JCCS basic tables and the usage of JCCS in practice. Finally, future develoment in plan is briefly explained.

Niigata University Hospital is a regional center institution of cancer therapy where many patients with gastrointestinal stromal tumors （GISTs） are visiting to seek the latest *** the time Ⅰ was treating GIST patients there with imatinib,a tyrosine kinase inhibitor,a small concern was raised：Ⅰ successively encountered patients who were newly diagnosed as having malignant neoplasms during the course of their *** the 70 GIST patients who were enrolled in our prospective study of imatinib therapy,seven suffered from second primary malignancies （SPMs）.One female GIST patient who suffered from advanced esophageal cancer died of the SPM,whereas the remaining six patients continued with their imatinib therapy and their prognoses were not affected by their SPMs.I reported on the risk of SPMs in GIST patients under imatinib therapy to an international journal of clinical oncology （1）.As the patient cohort of our study was so small in number to apply to statistical analysis,our observation was no more than a clinical alert.

Forecasting Daily Electric Load by Applying Artificial Neural Network with Fourier Transformation and Principal Component Analysis Technique

In this paper,we propose a hybrid forecasting model(HFM)for the short-term electric load forecasting using artificial neural network(ANN),discrete Fourier transformation(DFT)and principal component analysis(PCA)techniques in order to attain higher prediction ***,we estimate Fourier coefficients by the DFT for predicting the next-day load curve with an ANN and obtain approximate load curves by applying the inverse discrete Fourier *** curves,together with other input variables,are given to the ANN to predict the next-day hourly load ***,we predict PCA scores to obtain approximate load curves in the first step,which are then given to the ANN again in the second *** DFT and PCA models use input variables such as calendrical and meteorological data as well as past electric *** those models for forecasting hourly electric load in the metropolitan area of Japan for January and May in 2018,we train our models using historical data since January *** forecast results show that the HFM consisting of“ANN with DFT”and“ANN with PCA”predicts next-day hourly loads more accurately than the conventional three-layered ANN *** corresponding mean average absolute errors show 2.7%for ANN with DFT,2.6%for ANN with PCA and 3.0%for the conventional ANN *** also find that in May,when electric demand is smaller with smaller fluctuations,forecasting errors are much smaller than January for all the ***,we can conclude that the HFM would contribute to attaining significantly higher forecasting accuracy.
